Rose heard the howl and gritted her teeth together. She hoped she could get Raven to stop on one of the small islands up ahead. She couldn't swim forever... Good wolves swam 5 miles, great wolves swam 7. But, no one had really ever needed to swim longer then 7 miles between islands before. She certainly had swam the 7 mile limit before since most of them were great swimmers. But she knew tricks to travel farther easier. Glancing at Raven, she let out a few short yips to let him know she was swimming further out, snd angled her bost deeper, feeling for a current. If she could catch the right one, it would take her up the coast with minamul effort on her part. But she wasn't sure how long Raven could run. They would need to stop eventually. She knew if she could get him to swim to a small island they could hide there, but he appeared to hate the water.

Raven heard the few yips and looked out to the ocean. She must be going for a current or something. He had only heard of the ocean having them, but knew the rivers had them so why not the biggest expanse of water? He flicked his ears, keeping up his pace. Hopefully, she could keep swimming for a while, they would probably be running through the night. Hmm how long could Sea Wolves swim for? They don't live underwater, that's for sure. But they do seem to swim for a long time as well, so he was counting on that.

Rose felt with her paws carefully, scanning the surface for divits in the water as well. She had to be careful not to get sucked out to sea. At last she found one that would run her roughly between the mainland and the area they were headed towards. She slowed her legs and let the sea carry her, resting her head on the water she glanced at Raven, planning to watch to see when he tired. Unless a group of islands came into sight. Just as she thought this, a few dots appreared in the distance. Rose breathed a sigh of relief. Now if she could get Raven to swim to them they'd be good. As long as no more of her kind were in the area. She had never run this far before, so she was unsure. Raising her nose, she sniffed, but the wind was not in her favor and she couldn't scent for border markings. She guessed they would find out if they came upon a border themselves.

Raven ran, not slowing until sand blew up in his face. Shaking his head, he disappeared into the trees for a moment before coming back out, shaking water out of his fur. A look to the ocean told him that Rose was following a current but upon farther notice up ahead, he spotted the small dots of the islands. How perfect. He scrunched his nose before slowing down to a halt as he reached the edge of the island. If he kept following the shore now, he would wind up back where he started. He looked out to the islands before sitting down and sighed. Now to swimming. If he could get his paws to move.

Rose saw sit down at the edge of the water and stare out over the water towards the islands. Angling her body, she worked her way outta the current and swam to where he sat, Walking up and sitting down in the shallows not far from him, unwilling to step onto the dry sand and get it worked up into her paw pads. If she stayed in the water, it didn't grit her paws so much. She cocked her head at Raven. "You can do it, it's not far out." She coaxed. "It's at most, a mile and a half of swimming. I'll swim next to you." She panted invitingly, wagging her tail and making ripples on the surface of the water as she did so.

Raven looked over at Rose as she spoke before looking back out at the water. Oh dear, he was actually doing this. Talking and doing were two different things. His ear flicked back as he heard yips of scouts picking up his scent. Sighing, he knew that they wouldn't get into the water nor would think to look for him in the water. He walked up to the forest before carefully walking backwards back to where he had sat on the beach. Turning around, he slowly walked out towards the water, his tail sweeping away his footprints.
He hesitated at the edge before looking at Rose. Giving a huff, he dipped a paw into the water before walking out into the shallow water. He shuddered, "How do you Sea Wolves do this all the time?" He said, flattening his ears before pushing off the sand to swim forward. For a moment, he looked like a fish out of water before he dived underwater. Making it back to the surface, he shook off water on his head. Swimming forward, he paddled slowly at first before looking around for Rose and he kept forward.
