Unfortunately, your treck through town doesn't stir up anything, other than a few leaves in the wind. It's warm enough now, too, to drive you inside somewhere for a glass of water. m Standard inventory: baseball, pickaxe, rope, spare boots, spare wagon wheel m Traded inventory: 2 glass hairpins (rare) 1 pair of canvas shoes (common) 1 Hidden Achievement (common) 1 obsidian knife (rare) n Time and Day: Morning, day 3/7 Mm Current available actions: 1. The kids quickly gather around you again, their soccer game interrupted by the strong winds. They are looking for something else to do with their time. You show them the things you have left, and they look excitedly at the rope. After some debating, they decide to ask you for a game of tug-of-war. They'll give you one person for your team, and give you three common wooden marbles if you win. If not, they'll take the rope for their own games. m Standard inventory: baseball, pickaxe, rope, spare boots, spare wagon wheel m Traded inventory: 2 glass hairpins (rare) 1 pair of canvas shoes (common) 1 Hidden Achievement (common) 1 obsidian knife (rare) n Time and Day: Morning, day 3/7 Mm Current available actions: 1. Leave the Lot and visit a location on the map. 2. Agree to the tug-of-war game. 3. Remind them of their offer to play a game with the baseball.

I want to remind them of their offer to play a game with the baseball. If they are not interested anymore than I will agree to the tug-of-war game.

A kid steps forward, who must be the leader. He shakes your hand and introduces himself as Buck. He must be the leader, you figure. m "I figured it was too windy for baseball, but, if you insist," he says, a sly grin creeping across his face. "You want baseball, you'll get it!" m The confidence of the kid is a little catching, and you find yourself wanting to prove yourself to the group. "It's on!" m Buck shakes your hand again, and his friends gather around, trying to strike intimidating poses. One grabs a heavy stick from a pile of toys and looks you in the eye. "Indeed it is." n Your choice: pick two players for your team b Buck Peggy Goose Heidi

The wind whips around you as you select your team: the leader of the group and the one who grabbed the bat: she introduces herself as Heidi. The energetic kids are quickly into the game, and it takes you a minute to catch up with their energy. Once you do, though, you're all in. You may be older than them, but you've still got some fun in you. You're caught up in it, and have the most fun you've had in years. m The score is tied 2-2 and you're standing by second base: a potato sack filled with sand. Buck is at bat, and he's the last chance for your team. Your heart pounds as the other boy, who calls himself Goose, winds up to throw. He launches the ball to Buck, who hits it, hard... right into Goose's hand. Out. m You pant as the other team rejoices. Even two-on-three, they managed to win. You toss Peggy the well-earned baseball, and blush at seeing a few adults who gathered from the shops to witness the shop. Tough luck, but you had some decent fun, and the kids seem pleased with their new "championship," as they call it, ball. m Standard inventory: pickaxe, rope, spare boots, spare wagon wheel m Traded inventory: 2 glass hairpins (rare) 1 pair of canvas shoes (common) 1 Hidden Achievement (common) 1 obsidian knife (rare) n Time and Day: Afternoon, day 3/7 Mm Current available actions: 1.
