Here's my ideas. Take them, edit them, change them, however you want. Years ago, the headmaster's twin sibling had been really close with the headmaster. (Camarie) Then, their animal shifting ability had been revealed on the same day. Both had planned to attend Evergreen Academy until everything changed. They had thought that they would share the same animal, if different appearance, since they were twins, but they couldn't be more far off. Camarie was revealed as a hedgehog, but her sister became a Parasite. (Vampire bat or something it doesn't really matter) Camarie refuses to believe the rumors about the Corrupted, her previous guiding light. She believes her sister is the sister she has always known, unchanged. Until accident strikes. In bloodlust, her twin accidentally kills their parents and mortally injures Camarie. Cam is rescued by Evergreen Academy where she attends school. Her twin flees and is never seen again. Cam, haunted by her parents' murderer and her twin's crimes, unsteadily becomes headmaster. One day, she discovers trace of the Parasites in the Glades surrounding the Academy. Some part of her is still loyal to her twin and she doesn't report it. She doesn't make the decision until she had written the base of the report, and the Mischievious, wanting some thing to blame the headmaster, sneaked into the office for information on the outside world. What they found was much more dangerous: the remains of an unfinished Parasite report, nearly torn into shreds. Afraid to directly ask the headmaster, they decide to investigate themselves. The report had said, barely legible, the basic location of the first sighting and the five Mischievious go into the Glades, finding the truth out for themselves.

Amari and Amaris shall be bffs. I dont care if Amaris is a parasite. They almost have the same name, so they must be friends (Or not. Up to Regen)

Interesting proposal. It's leaning more towards a personal issue rather than a huge secret that would change the way people see Parasites, since even though Parasites around the Academy is the concern of the students, it originates from the headmaster's backstory. It would make sense for the Mischievous students to try and investigate something they should've be going after, though. However, if you want a plot twist that doesn't revolve mostly around the headmaster, then I would suggest the Mischievous finding something out about the Parasites in general, not the just the headmaster. Personally, I think that Wing's proposal really takes into consideration of the other Parasites, since if there's Parasites near school grounds, then it would mean more interactions between students and the Corrupted. On the other hand, I do suggest avoiding plot twists where it's one character's personal issues or one character's relationships with other characters that drive the story.

Wings of Death, That's a pretty interesting idea, but aren't parasitic/vampiric animals generally pretty small? How could one kill a person? Just wondering, no offense intended.

Storm Runner Honestly, I imagined some of the smaller ones (leeches, worms, moths, maybe even some of the birds) to be able to transform into a whole group, not just one. For example, one leech could do well, but likely not nearly enough to kill a person. But then if you have like a dozen of them targeting you, that's a different story.

I never even thought of that... lol. True enough, though. Imagine having a whole bunch of bloodsucking creatures attacking you...? :') Wolf's Bane said: Storm Runner Honestly, I imagined some of the smaller ones (leeches, worms, moths, maybe even some of the birds) to be able to transform into a whole group, not just one. Storm Runner I don't think it's too fair on the Parasites to only be able to transform into one individual being. A worm would be a bad Halloween surprise, but a bunch... that would earn the Corrupted their extremely negative reputation. And no, I don't want to imagine a whole bunch of them attacking me, that sounds terrifying lol
