'To my dearest Ivy,

I never intend for you to receive this letter, but I feel the need to write this just the same, if only to give myself the relief of expressing my emotions in a way I would otherwise not.

I do hope you're happy. Truly.

I don't think I'll ever understand why you did what you did, but I want you to know that I forgive you if you are happier now than you were with me. I know I made mistakes with you, and I'm also allowing myself to see that you made mistakes too. I'm not completely responsible for our end. Partially, yes, but not fully, and that is something I need to believe if I am to move on.

I do wish you would stop calling. Every time, I feel a spark of hope that I know is pointless. You don't love me. I'm not sure you ever did. Yet, I still maintain the memory of what I believed was true affection. When you call me, I feel that rush again. Like I used to. I don't understand why. It's stupid.
