I could have a character move in because the person they were previously living with died and maybe that's why they bring the pet as well (these can also be separate ideas, but pets are wonderful)

ThisIsAPackName said: it looks like we're doing the college students in a shared apartment one, which is frankly a pretty low-down, silly idea. but majorly it's character driven, so most of the drama, angst, and sillies would come from the character itself. i'd imagine in a less plot-driven and more so event-driven story, it'd be best to go with a character-first approach, unless you guys want to discuss possible events first so we can make characters who suit the events?
I think from the quietness in the thread, it might be better if we go with he other approach and make characters and then plot events. Thanks for trying it my way lol

yeah, that might be wise at this rate. no problem, though. how many characters do we want there to be?

We could start with one character each and then maybe add one or two throughout the roleplay

i feel like for a roommates roleplay it'd make more sense to have all our ducks set in a row before we go off to bat? unless you want to, like, have it so our characters are just moving in and some of them haven't arrived yet. or we just. pretend everyone's been there the whole time when they eventually get introduced.

That's fair. I was thinking two each so we have enough for drama but hopefully not too much to overwhelm. I feel like an even amount would be better whatever we do
