Holy crud, I am so flattered to have been complimented before even coming here. It really means a lot to me, guys. I can't function without positive reinforcement (not a great way to be), so it really touches me to have people say stuff like this about my writing. Honestly. I know I'm joking about stuff 90% of the time, but it was such a wonderful surprise to read through the posts and see my name mentioned. Alright, my turn to share the love.
Valkyrie, solas, queen., Shadows at Twilight, Raoul, Spring Spark, Winter Sun, Honeybee falls, I'm so sorry, but you're going to have to remind me which RPs I was in with you. I know for a fact I've RPed with solas, Raoul, Spring Spark, and Winter Sun. I can't remember anyone's usernames, though, I just remember them by character. I had to search through the character lists of most of my RPs just to remember these other guys. Sorry for my faulty memory, everyone.
Pudding Cup - I know we haven't roleplayed too much, but I always get excited when I see your name. And it's not just because I like pudding :) I mean, just look at Celeste. For her opening, you wrote eight entire paragraphs about cooking dinner. Cooking dinner. And when I gave you pretty much nothing to go off of because I was in a rush in Cadunt de Matriarchy, you still managed to produce five big fat paragraphs. In other words, you can make so much of so little from what I've seen. That's a rare talent, and not an easy thing to do. So kudos to you. Right now I'd have to say Celeste is my favorite character of yours that I know, because she's a great example of how much can be done with so little - and she's a wonderful character.
Sleepless Nights - Sleepless, I have been roleplaying with you since the second RP I ever made (you might have been in my first, I can't recall), and your character was awesome, fitting in beautifully with my cast of ragtag circus folk. You are one of the first people I RPed with, and you and the others put up with me, which I thank you for. You seem so organized to me (maybe it's just the illusion of organization, but that's just as good :) I have no idea how you write so much so consistently. I mean, I can write like that if I have the inspiration, but you just keep it up. I envy you for that. And for being able to play more than one character without trouble. I really look forward to RPing with you in the 80s RP! Right now I have to admit I'm pretty hyped about Mae, and I just adore her. You've added such unique little flairs to her, and, I mean, who doesn't love a character who's motto is literally "Screw the patriarchy! I'm becoming a rapper"?
Tolkien - I haven't RPed with you much, and haven't interacted with Aela, but I've been keeping up with the RP as best I can and I have to say, you have an acute sense of imagery. Imagery can add so much to an otherwise meaningless sentence. It draws out your replies without making them drag on, instead making them far more interesting. I also was utterly delighted to have you think of and successfully create a selectively mute character who also seems like he'll be amazing in the RP. I can't wait to get started, and I admire your bravery for attempting a character like that. I'd wish you luck, but I hardly think you need it :) I can't say I know many of your characters, but I am pumped to have Hector in my new RP. I already feel like you're expertly pulled him off and we haven't even started RPing yet.
Candor - You've been one of the roleplayers I've admired for a very long time. I always get so excited when I see that you're in an RP that I made. You were (are?) an intrical character - and a great one - in possibly my favorite RP of all time. I have not known you to have a shoddy character, and you bring such nuance to them. I kid you not, you're one of the people that I just assume will have a great character, because when don't you? Peregrine, Absalom, Lorelei, Ella, all great characters. What even can you say about Candor? Candor is great. I think my favorite character of yours is probably Lorelei, because she interacted so wonderfully with the other characters, and you did a really good shy character without completely shunning everyone around her.
-Spellbound - I believe the first character of yours that comes to mind if, of course, Anastasia. I have to admit, I was concerned about your ability to speak to the Queen, wondering if Anastasia would use all attitude, no logic. The way you handled it was absolutely brilliant, and I think your grasp of words and how to phrase things gently is remarkable. A way with words is always a good trait in a roleplayer, and I think you really have that. Not just in dialogue, but also in description. I think I only know Ana, but she'd probably be my favorite character anyway, because she's just so multi-faceted, a well-played character who manages not to be a brat just because she has some inner conflict :)
Boundless - Oh my Fred, I love Toska so much, and I hope that RP doesn't end up dying. Honestly, the subtlety involved in those kinds of characters was pulled off beautifully with Toska. Also, I loved her little backstory. The thing is, people always try to keep their backstories all mysterious until later in the RP. I'm also guilty of that. But let's be honest - we're just deluding ourselves, because the RP will never get that far. In a RP where there's very little talking, I think revealing that about Toska was a brilliant move on your part. It gave her some humanity where humanity was nowhere to be found. I salute you. As you may have guessed, Toska is far and away my favorite character of yours - also probably the only one I know. For the reasons stated.
Life on Mars - Gee, have I ever actually RPed with you? I looked through my old RPs, and I don't think so. But you sure as heck seem like a great roleplayer to me, and you certainly understand the nuances of the fine art of roleplaying :) I loved your character for the superhero RP, and I'm sorry it didn't take off - I have no clue what happened. The creativity you put into that guy completely blew me away. He'll have to be my favorite character of yours, since he's the only one I know, but he's probably also one of my favorite characters ever.
Bear Claw - Your characters are some of the most natural I've seen. They're just people, regular people, and it makes them feel so real. You also have the ability to juggle multiple characters from what I've seen, and you are one of the ONLY people I know who understands that clinging incessantly to a single interaction and making something huge out of it is rarely the way to go. You just let things happen as they happen, and in that way your characters become a part of the world they are in. It's just such a relief to have somebody who is so friendly and willing to RP with everyone rather than trying to force two characters to be together all the time. I really like Phoenix, actually, because everyone made such sympathetic characters, which is all well and good, but where the heck is everyone ELSE in the world? Phoenix is unabashedly that "everyone else." Why in the world is everyone so scared of just having a character who is a jerk? That's what a lot of REAL people are like.
And here's a shout out to the very best of the roleplayers, in my opinion: Quadropheniac. Not only is Quad ridiculously creative with the weirdest and most wonderful characters, they just really get into character. They add such delightful quirks and play them so well. They joined my very first RP and have put up with me since then :) About half of the RPs I've been in have included Quad, and I sincerely think they made me a better roleplayer. I'm lucky enough to finally be doing a 1x1 with the wonderful Quad. Every single one of their RPs have been bizarre and amazing, every single one of their characters the most humanly un-ordinary I've seen. So thank you, Quad.
