LGTBQ+ does happen in animals but honestly I see the biggest examples with ducks. It just seems a little homophobic i guess when someone has "no LGBTQ+ It makes me uncomfortable" like bro,, people loving each other makes you uncomfy?? whack. - also the relationships being the main focus. gets me angy. I get the whole shipping before the RP though, it makes it easier to plan things out. Winging relationships and such gets really rocky and unorganized really fast and not fun. I always plan out relationships and plot out fights and such before a RP so it doesn't fall apart and we have something to look forward to. "Love at First Sight" is the MOST annoying trope i hate it aaa

I've noticed that people like to comment on who would go well with who romantically (there's a word for this, I just can't remember it) in the discussion a lot. I never really understood why romance was so important, but I think it's a cultural thing. People just really love a good romance story. Nothing wrong with that, I don't think, as long as you don't start excluding other people or making everything about you. Romance is fun for some people, I guess.

I honestly prefer friendship relationships over romance. It's not often I can actually get into shipping, or pairing up my character in a romantic sense with another persons character. Edited at September 1, 2020 02:24 PM by Pudding Cup

I'm extremely picky about romantic partners. Last year I had a character who was ace/aro and someone in the discussion said "our characters would be a good match..." do you not know what aromantic means - speaking of putting all the focus on yourself. it drives me crazy when people are in the discussion just talking about their own character and trying to shove them into every plot ever and making them be the White Knight in the RP thread

In general the discussions tend to annoy me unless we're talking about actual worldbuilding or plots that involve everyone. I've seen a lot of people fishing for compliments on their character or just outright saying "guys, don't you love my character?" I mean, we all love getting compliments on our characters, but maybe try being more subtle at least? I have to admit, I used to fish for compliments a bit.

I always find it amusing when in a survival/apocolyptic/dystopian RP, the first page of the discussion is on ships and romance. :') . Yeah. In my early days of RPing, I was actually one of those people who would want a romance in an RP. Now, I actively avoid any sort of romantic 1x1 - most often, the characters just don't click, nor am I really interested. . Ah, I reckon the wilou discussion may not be your cup of tea, then, Noir. It has almost nothing to do with the RP. But I do love world building and plotting, almost more so than the actual RP itself :)
