Ah, the tragedy of a club half-gone :( Perhaps I shall start a tiny week-long renaissance, who knows?

sock monkey said: Lmao, I've been tempted, but I never would. I'd be more inclined to write a one-liner for an insanely literate RP than vis versa :') (I would go back and edit a few hundred words in my post, but I would hope that the initial reaction is just gold aha)
I think I did that in one of Corax's roleplays, and I had a normal post prepared just in case Corax didn't think it was too funny or maybe I never went through with it. I feel like someone gave me the idea, maybe here...It was either Sacris or Blessed Vanished

i know no one has used this for months but this brought back so much nostalgia from my old forgotten account. so i shall use this as God intended - whining Female Characters: the way many people write + design them. I seldom see a woman - or just female animal !! - on WP not written to be a super hot seductress who is actually SECRETLY EVIL! and she'll KILL you cuz she's EVIL!! but she's really hot and seductive to everyone she meets (this is how she lures in victims!) always described with small upturned noses, "generous bosom" this "curvaceous form" that. I'm less annoyed with the whole murderer aspect because... it's a site that attracts younger teens, of course most characters will probably be edgy and evil killers. but i dream of a day that the majority of my female sign ups will be an actual character profile and not the creator desperately trying to convince me that they have the hottest woman (or straight up Wild Animal) in this roleplay the same could be said for male characters, but i see it to a way lesser extent, and people seem more okay with making their men have some major injury or varying body types or unconventional features. Rules: One rule that always irks me: "The leader/alpha cannot be challenged!" This one has always annoyed me! people rarely do this, and usually when they do decide to have their character rebel, it's because your lead character did something to piss the character off. So it's reasonable that they'd finally have enough and turn on their leader. It's a good source of drama and it makes the RP seem like less of a power fantasy for whoever took leader role. of course this would require a good OOC discussion, but still - it has the potential for an interesting plot line. i can see why people would implement this rule, i guess, but i don't know - just feels like it opens up the oppurtunity for power tripping in some roleplays. anyways I haven't roleplayed in a minute so i forgot the other usual things that make my eye twitch. But Here is my essay contribution to the paused complaining

It can be a lot the way female characters are portrayed. I don't understand why they have to be so attractive. I think one reason males tend to be more balanced is that most people on WP aren't comfortable roleplaying male so it tends to be the roleplayers that are more open to trying things that play male

Salt shaker I agree with those points! I usually try and not make my characters like that but I am guilty of only playing female and making them all bubbly lol.

hey, as long as she has some unique traits and isn't just a temptress, she's cool in my book. i think we do need some more bubbly characters around Sir Froggington said: It can be a lot the way female characters are portrayed. I suppose so. It still makes me cringe a lot, I feel like I never know who the OC is, just that it's imperitive I find them attractive. That is their only trait. I wish there was a way to convince people to be more open to trying new RP things, I feel like the RP scene here has gotten a little dull and repetitive since the last time I was around. - Another thing I've noticed that I've come here to whine about - the one-upping I see in some sign ups for roleplays. Have you ever noticed how when someone makes a tall, intimidating character, suddenly almost every character after that gets progressively taller? Same with attractiveness, or deadliness, or any other 'cool' trait. I'm often left wondering how this 6'4 or whatever man is supposed to stand out and be intimidating when every man before him and after him is that height or taller. They're also always competing for who's the most magnetic and commands the most attention in a room. Fellers eventually there's going to be so many magnetic people that we all just repel off each other. I feel like people are more comfortable roleplaying as stock characters now instead of writing ones that actually stand out, and aren't just described as standing out. There is a major difference between those two things. Eventually the RP may actually begin and then everyone will be so similar in practice that they don't really stand out as much as their form insisted. anyways that was my next villain rant. in short - it is Okay to not be the tallest, strongest, most handsome character in the roleplay. i wish i didn't see some strange competition occuring every time someone makes the first Big and Intimidating sign up. And i think people should start trying to branch out more to make their characters truly unique and not just telling me that they're unique.
