You have read my mind! I think that the chimera or maybe a viti would be the only good defect/dye combos. So I will stick to my plan then and do a 59ACR greyscale for my little gremlin and hopes he can stir up some attention.

I would use it on say a chim or something like that but an axan, mela, alb etc is sort of pointless in my opinion.
I do have a few ones I could custom, but I don't want to use the dye before I custom

That is exactly what I was thinking (cause I have dyes I could use) but I would rather use them on wolves that do not have a pelt defect so you can see them. At least personally I feel it to be more worthwhile that way.
