Arizona Iris Nickname: Zona Age: 8 years, 9 months Gender: Mare/female Breed: Quarter Horse/Welsh Cob cross Appearance: Zona is a simple, well-built mare that stands at 15 and 1/2 HH. She has a subtle muscular structure and strong hind limbs built from various work in all sorts of environments. Generally though, this mare is an exceptional all rounder. She is built for both decent speed and significant strength, so has the lean legs but a strong neck and wide chest to support this. Zona is the type of horse you could do near anything with - western & classical disciplines. She's suitable for anything from jumping or cross country to driving or dressage. Arizona has both aspects from her Quarter Horse and Welsh Cob ancestry. Her coat is a thick, warm chestnut, all the way from her head to her fluffy, white-socked legs which lighter over a gradient. She has similar white marking on her belly that stretches below her neck to her belly and the undersides of her legs, which is less prominent. Her other markings are darker areas around her muzzle and behind her ears, whilst her nose sports a long white dash. Zona's mane and tail are the same common chestnut - slightly messy and resting at her fetlock and the middle of her neck respectively. The most interesting feature of Zona is her eyes. She has heterochromia iridis (part of which is responsible for her name) which causes light blue splashes across both eyes. This isn't extremely noticeable, as Zona tends to refuse full eye contact, and the patches are surrounded by the usual dark brown of the rest of her iris. The rest of her head overshadows this small beauty too - her face has a way of looking forlorn, miserable even when the rest of her posture does not display a simular emotion. Her ears seem always to be on alert too, iris shaped and perked continuously. Personality: Arizona can appear very bad tempered, as her miserable expression is misinterpreted as agression or even fear. This wouldn't be an entirety wrong assumption, but the truth is she is just lonely. This mare has been passed from place to place so excessively - breaking bonds at each - so that now she tends not to try. Why create something that will fail? It isn't as if Zona does not make 'friends'. She will be polite and speak with those around her, but she is very cautious in forming bonds or dependency on any horse or human. Her attitude towards riding is one of unconcern and indifference. She was trained young as possible and has received various training in all kinds of sports so now nothing really surprises her. She is quite bombproof, never spooking unlike some horses. However, she never quite seems at ease either, with her ears swivelling almost aggressively. Zona will put up with everyone. Perhaps not everything though. An unfortunate volunteer found out her extreme dislike to forehead pets - when he went to lightly scratch her forehead after a ride, Arizona reared and bolted. The volunteer was not hurt, but the staff then worked on this issue. Zona does not have as adverse reactions now, but it is clear from her expression she does not appreciate the gesture. She has never displayed any issues with tacking up however. Perhaps this is her way of saying "no partner stuff, let's just stay on buisness." History: This girl has been passed around various riding stables, ranches and farms, doing whatever jobs are thrown at her for whatever people pull her their way. Honestly, she puts up with anything and everything, but with so little enthusiasm that no one really keeps her around for long. Her last owner only had her for a few months before desperately trying to sell her once their business failed, and as a last ditch effort she was given to the Ranch. Unchosen. Maybe someone in the program will finally perk this sullen girl up. Difficulty Level: 1 This mare isn't as sweet-tempered as you'd expect from the easiest horse on the ranch. She is indeed such a calm horse though, lacking in any sort of temper at all. Zona will not fuss, and is trained well enough that anyone could get up on her and do whatever they may want. The only challenge with this mare is actually building a meaningful relationship with her. Though she's easy enough to ride, the connection aspects will remain difficult if one does not preserve. Rider: [Will be assigned later] Crush/Mate: None. Foals: None. Friends: TBA, open! Enemies: Open. Affiliations: Open. Other: Fjords are so pretty! Name: Anil Nickname: Anil Age: 10 Years Gender: Male Breed: Thoroughbred x Percheron Cross Appearance: [Image Credits: On Image. Stock Images.] Anil is a stallion of gigantic proportions. He's not quite as massive as a few other horses, but the stallion is most definitely up there, standing at 18 hands. He's not quite something to be described as broad, but he's not a petite creature either. Rather, Anil sits in an in-between state, body coated in hard muscle in a lean fashion, rather than a bulky, overly beefy stallion. That's not to say he isn't intimidating, but he's somewhat on the slimmer side. The tall brute is a of a red roan colouration, the bay roan variation specifically. His mane is long and almost shaggy looking, his tail a little shorter and neater, both obsidian in colour. His coat underneath the roan markings is a deep bay hue, but his roan genetics mix the darker fur with white. Few places on his body remain untouched by the lighter fur, but his head and his left shoulder show the world what he would have been without the white, while his legs are a shade of black as dark as midnight itself. One of his hind legs has a low marking of white, not leaving the black unhindered. Anil has eyes of a deep, dark brown. Perhaps they could be considered entrancing by the right person, but to him, they seem blank. A colour so dark and so vacant that they are almost dead. In a similarly 'dead' fashion, the scent of the stallion is similar to the smell that comes off of a charred, hollow tree. Personality: Anil is, put both simply and only mildly correctly, a blank creature. He is reserved and, in most cases, detached. He handles most situations with a disconnected aura, as if he has severed his emotions from his physical body. His expression is most often barren, untouched, or otherwise vacant. To get any kind of physical reaction, such as a smile or a laugh, is incredibly rare, and a dull stare in response to a joke or jest is not uncommon, and not to be taken in offence. It's simply how the stallion is, a creature adapted to a quiet, isolated lifestyle. Anil could, perhaps, be described as a monotone creature. His voice, actions, and stares all hold a level of monotonous robotics, as if he's working on autopilot. However, if someone looks hard enough, they'll see the sparks of intelligence and recognition that tell you that he's there, and he's listening. His affection, should he feel it for someone, is rarely shown in things such as nuzzling or playing. Rather, he shows it through other actions, like checking up on them, taking note of when something is wrong, being able to read their emotions and voice, or spending time with them. Just because he's a monotonous creature doesn't mean that the stallion doesn't feel things. He can be quite stubborn about some things, but his stubbornness is not displayed in aggression, rather just quiet determination that can be overlooked by some. He's observant, as most quiet people are, and he takes in almost everything he sees. Of course, sometimes he misses things, but rarely. Even if he tries not to show it, sometimes Anil gets scared, or angry, or annoyed, despite having a large amount of patience and a high threshold for pain and fear. His entire personality, and how he presents himself, makes him an extremely reliable creature. He can be trusted with secrets, knowing that he will share them with none, he can be trusted with leadership, being a creature to demand respect despite his quiet ways, being one to step in when authority is undermined and put another in their place. He rarely stands for insubordination, and he will not stand for it now. The ones that will see the most 'affection' from the stallion will likely be his offspring. Creatures of his own flesh and blood that he has had a part in raising will see a rare smile, will get an even rarer nudge or nuzzle, might get asked to spend time with him if both parties are not busy. History: Anil's history is not tragic, he is not greatly wounded or troubled. He was an accidental pregnancy, one in which the mare wasn't meant to be put in the same area as the stallion, and when he was old enough to be sold, he jumped from home to home without ever really being properly broken in until he was around 7 Years Old, and, by that time, he had negative associations with saddles and things on his back. That owner broke him in, but sold him again soon after, and his associations with the saddle got worse. He's relatively alright with people on his back, it's the saddle itself that's the issue for him. He was surrendered to the rescue from a Personal Rescue after he was at an auction. The personal rescue realized they didn't have the time to completely rework his associations with the saddle because of how slow of a process it would be and other rescues needing their help. Difficulty Level: Level 5 Rider: Open/TBD Crush/Mate: None Foals: None Friends: Open Enemies: Unlikely, but relatively open Affiliations: Open Other:

George Astor Nicknames: George Age: 16 Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Appearance: George is a wiry, athletic looking guy with a sharp glare and wide smile. He stands at 5'8 so moderately average but slightly on the taller side, with quite long legs and arms. The latter of which are often crossed as he watches various people. Some might say he's pretty much perfectly built for horse riding, with a solid but light enough figure to withstand the demands of the sport. Some young version of him would have been star-struck by this comment, but now he is much more realistic. He possesses an air of confidence, despite his shy nature. George does not seem like someone you could pick on easily, though he isn't incredibly strong looking or anything. He just seems like someone who wouldn't care in the slightest if you tried to mock or annoy him. With a purposeful stride and a warm expression he seems much more we'll put together that he actually is. George has messy black hair to compliment his ivory skintone - which can lightly tan but hasn't for a while. His sharp, diamond face and body also have a constellation of freckles, scattered everywhere. With brown-hazel eyes, he is not striking to look at but not unreasonably so. George makes sure to keep himself healthy and active, which have resulted on scars on his knees from that slightly wild childhood, and lean muscles that are slightly noticeable under his shirt. Personality: George does have very strong morals. Or he did. They're a little blurry now, but he's trying to get himself in a better headspace to sort that out. Some people just like to misbehave and cause chaos, but for the most part George isn't like that. For the majority of the time he's quite protective and treats people with respect. He'd make a good friend for anyone who could do with one, being willing to listen and certainly looking out for those he believes deserve some kind of help. The times he isn't like this is when he looses his - very easily lost - patience. George is fiery, and when he doesn't like something he will let that be known. He can be quite agressive and loud, hesitant to back down, and will be very argumentative if he doesn't agree. He doesn't necessarily have anger issues, as he is somewhat decent at controlling what he says, but he does get very very livid in certain circumstances. Despite his unwillingness to back down, George tends to be flighty when he is uncomfortable. He's a little bit shy, and often hesitant to speak to people first. He can get a conversation going if he knows someone well enough, and is genuinely friendly. George doesn't trust easily either, so any friendships he forms are quite cautious and well thought out. History: George was the only child of his parents: a good-natured, slightly older couple who owned a small farm just outside a major city. Unfortunately, when George was young, his father became ill and subsequently passed away. His widowed mother worked hard to keep themselves and their small herd of older horses and sheep afloat but it was difficult by herself. Here was where George learnt plenty about equine care and riding, though he never competed nor worked extensively in any specific discipline. A single child, he spent all of his free time (and some he should have been spending elsewhere) on horses. As home life got harder, George began to steal - at first just to help his mum from time to time when he felt there was no other choice - but eventually he got involved with other less-than-innocent kids his age as everything got steadily worse. George's mum began to struggle more and more herself, and so they decided to sell the horses to make the farm more manageable. This plunged all George's time into (often failing) attempts to keep up with school and all sorts of chaos with his poor excuse for friends. Meanwhile the family's neighbor was pressuring his mother into selling the remains of their farm. In retaliation, and acting on his friend's suggestion, he set fire to the neighbors' barn. Why they thought that would solve their problem, his mother does not understand. Either way he got caught and ended up in the Juvenile Hall. Ahh I'm so bad at writing horse forms. Does Wildfire need any more appearance or personality? I have an issue with making characters that are too easy to describe.

There are a couple of things that would need done before she could be accepted.
You would have to add the height to her appearance. As well as reread the rules, because not being able to find something doesn't excuse you from doing it. Also, you'll need to explain why she can't remember any of her history? You will need to explain why she's at her difficulty level to, as the rest of us have in some regard. If you do all that, we'll also need to find her a rider as we're down one, and I've made the pairs.
