Name İsa “Josh/Joshua” Tilki Age 23 Gender Male Pronouns He/Him Sexuality Pansexual Appearance Joshua has an oval-shaped face, with a curved jawline. His skin is heavily tanned, with warm undertones. He has dark features, with large, bushy black eyebrows set low over his dark eyes. His lashes are long and dark. His nose is somewhat large, narrower on the bridge and wider towards the bottom. He has somewhat large cupid’s bow shaped lips. He has a somewhat unkempt look about him, with dark stubble and his wild eyebrows. He’s generally smiling, flashing large white teeth, and the sides of his eyes are permanently creased from many smiles. Despite his rugged appearance, he’s still fairly well-groomed and clean. His hair is straight and usually combed back or parted to the side. His hair is naturally black, but he had dyed it blonde a while ago, so now it’s blonde just on the ends, with the rest having grown out black. Despite his attempts to keep it neat, it has a tendency to fall into his face, which irritates him. He’s in good shape, but not particularly tall, standing at about 5’7”. He’s most heavily tanned on his shoulders and upper back. He’s pretty clean and well-kept, though he does cultivate a more wild look on purpose, and he’s naturally hairy. He has slender feet and hands, but his fingers are rather short. Despite his height, he has a fairly graceful build. He’s certainly worked hard to look this way, though he is slightly letting himself go, exercising less and eating less healthy. Fortunately, he’s still a young man, and that kind of stuff probably won’t catch up with him until later in life. Josh dresses pretty well, especially considering the small town they live in. He’s going for a mix of flirty surfer and dapper church boy, but usually leans too far one way. He likes to wear white button-up shirts, sometimes with a few buttons undone. He tucks this into dark dress pants and black Oxfords when he’s going for a more formal look. Sometimes he wears solid-color jeans or even shorts, sometimes he wears tank tops, sometimes sandals and sometimes tall boots. Now and then he has a single necklace, sometimes he wears a neat tie. Sometimes he combs his hair back neatly, sometimes he gives it more of a part to look a little less uptight. Occasionally he wears a vest, and then sometimes he doesn’t have any shirt at all. He has a huge closet of clothing due to his tendency to impulse shop, and mixes and matches as he pleases. He wears a pair of round glasses, adding a nerdy and archaic air to his otherwise sleek and trendy appearance. He doesn’t love these glasses, but his mother bought them for him and he can’t stand to touch his eyeballs to put contacts in. Sometimes he takes them off, though he’s quite farsighted without them. Personality Josh is coasting on his money while he can, because he knows once it runs out he’ll have to get a job and go back to being an everyday person again. He can’t help but hold onto his ego, and that’s the reason he still needs everyone to think he’s in control. He’s handling the situation, and he never lets anyone think he could doubt himself, even a little bit. If he does, they’ll start to doubt him too. So he maintains an air of confidence and stands by his convictions with fervor, refusing to back down from his own way of looking at things. He truly believes the gods are gone, or at least no longer interested in mortals, and that demigods are frauds who want control. And he’s not afraid to say this, not even afraid that the gods might retaliate. He keeps things organized and plans ahead to avoid having anything go wrong, because when things do go wrong, he’s quick to lose his cool. When he gets scared or nervous about things, he’s very temperamental, lashing out at anything and everything just to avoid having the blame laid on him. He’ll turn on anyone just as long as he’s not the one who comes under fire. If it comes down to it, he can sometimes bring himself to apologize, especially if he’s crossed a line. But he does tend to downplay these moments instead of admitting that he’s wrong. He certainly doesn’t believe in these distant gods, but it’s almost endearing to see people who do. All the same, he believes people should be able to make up their own minds and know the truth. So he’s quick to burst their bubble, which he sees as respecting their intelligence. He’s the kind of impassioned person who rants earnestly about what he believes in, and genuinely can’t understand people who don’t share his point of view. He tries to listen to them, but is already set against them before they start making their argument. He has a burning desire to be right, even if deep down he knows there’s no way he can be right about everything. It just makes him feel bad to be proven wrong. He says what he means, and doesn’t sugarcoat things, which can come across as rude. He does, however, have good manners, and is especially polite to older adults, always with a “ma’am”and “sir.” He’s a friendly person, and takes the initiative to meet new people and get conversations started. But he can exhaust himself, keeping up his charade of cheerfulness and being so hard to faze. Despite his strong conviction, he’s easily taken advantage of by people who flatter his ego, as he constantly craves praise and validation. He was never quite famous, but he had his moment in the spotlight, and something like that is hard to forget. He’s quite the fiery person, and will talk for hours about something he cares about if you let him. He never seems to run out of energy, and it’s his enthusiasm and vim and vigor for life that make him seem so confident and unflappable. He’s very physical, constantly gesturing, jumping around, pacing, and playing with things in his hands. He has a seemingly endless supply of hard candy and sunflower seeds to help him quit smoking - not that they’re working very well. His decision-making skills aren’t great. He makes a great effort to plan ahead and avoid unforeseen circumstances. But if things derail, he’s never been good at thinking or acting quickly. He gives up too easily when things start really going wrong. It’s easier to just give up than try and fail, as he says. His family co-owned the local grocery store. They were a large bickering family who always seemed to have some kind of drama. Josh knew a lot of people in school, with plenty of friends, rivals, and romantic admirers. He was in the school drama club, and despite not doing well in school, everyone said he had talent and was going to make something of himself. He always had a bit of an inflated head about it. Like many people in town, he was devoted to the gods, and was convinced they were looking over and protecting him. He loved the old stories, and used to film his own versions with his little camera. The demigods, though - that was another matter. Joshua was known for being wildly jealous of them. Still is. He used to get into fights with them and their friends and fans, always a bit of a hoodlum in school. One such fight landed him in the hospital, leaving him with a bit of difficulty with his leg. He left home at eighteen years old, having been offered internships and scholarships to get into the film world. While he was gone, his father passed away, but even then he didn’t return home. Just over a year ago, Joshua worked at the bottom rung of the movie industry, ruthlessly and single-minded clawing his way up, hoping to make something of himself. It was going to be the classic story - a small-town kid breaks into the movies, becomes overnight success, is immensely rich and forgets that small town. He wanted to become a producer, the ultimate role in his eyes. Unfortunately, Josh wasn’t prepared for retaliation, and his cut-throat techniques came back to bite him. He had a good four years of success before he was cut down to size and had to come slinking back home. But while he was there, he had ideas - ideas about the gods, how to bring them to life, how to show his culture on the big screen. And his ideas were taken and twisted, made into something marketable to the public. Gods were the action heroes in your guns-out bloodbath blockbuster. Gods walked among men, only to fall slowly in love in a by-the-numbers Hallmark romance. Gods were proprietors of ancient curses in vaguely-defined horror movies. Josh resisted at first, but that sweet scent of money was just too much for him. Things he used to love became a joke, not something sacred. Joshua’s not afraid of the gods - mostly because he’s not sure he believes in them anymore. If they’re so high and mighty, why hide among humans? Why send demigods to do their bidding? He’s seen enough crazy people claiming to be gods, internet “tricks” claiming to be magic, to be almost convinced the gods are good and dead. But now - now he’s back here, and it feels so strange to be surrounded by believers again. Relationships Aliye Tilki Josh's mother was middle-aged when she had him, and is into her seventies now. She's always been quite devoted to the gods, and though she hasn't said much about Josh's new-found lack of faith, she certainly seems disappointed. She runs a local grocery store were Josh helps out, and spends much of her free time in service to the gods. Josuha oves her, but is embarrassed by her for a few reasons. Astraea Acuna Joshua never really liked the demigods. And little Astraea - he never liked her either. He knew her from school, though he was four grades ahead of her. He always had a condescending tone and zero respect for her. He hasn't seen her since he left town. Norrix Josh and Norriz usd to be friends, back in high school. That was when Joshua still believed in the gods. Now he's back, and willing to rekindle their friendship - but with him pusing her to abandon her faith, and her pushing him to embrace the gods, they sometimes devolve into arguments and grudges. Cal Thi Lê Josh always admired Cal, and in high school they were friends, though Cal was some years older than him. Joshua has always wanted to be like Cal, looked up to them. He's one of the people Josh missed most while he was gone, and though he's embarassed to be coming back a failure, he's still happy to be seeing Cal again. Dahlia Hex St. Clair Don't even get him started. He can't remember a time before he and Dahlia were fighting like rabid monkeys. He'll do anything to get under her skin, but unfortunately se can do a whole lot to get under his. He's always disliked demigods, but none quite as much as the terrible, dreadful, no-good Dahlia St. Clair. Bodhi Ariti There was a time when Josh's worldview would have been something like "the best way to make money is stabbing people in the back." Unfortunately, he soon found out there were other people even more adamant in this point of view. He's become wary of this, and he sees this in Bodhi - which is wy he's very suspicious of him. Name: Hasiya The Bloodied, Bolded, and Brave Age: Unknown Gender: Genderfluid (presents and generally prefers feminine) Pronouns: She/him Sexuality: Pansexual Appearance: Standing at a solid six foot four, Hasiya has dark tan skin and an athletic build. With wide shoulders and strong thighs, Hasiya is built for all sorts of activities or like she has been surviving in the wilderness her whole life. He has hair on his arms and legs but is well groomed and hygienic despite a strong metallic smell always surrounding him. He sometimes masks this smell with flowery perfume or by just spending time in a forest and gaining the scent of pine or fresh grass. Hasiya has a square face shape with a big, warm grin with sharp teeth. She has a small nose and bushy eyebrows the color of her dark hair with a small slit in them. His dark brown, luscious, 2b hair reaches mid-way down his back but is often matted or tangled, hence why he tends to put it into a braid or tie it half-up. Streaks of white paint her hair and provide some pop of color— or lack thereof technically speaking— in whatever design she decides to wear. Her wide eyes, however, are the most interesting. One eye, her left, is a dark brown with a slight red tinge to it while the other has its sclera black with a much redder hue to the iris. Hasiya does not talk much about her eye, and while everyone knows of her eye due to the various myths surrounding it, she still tends to hide it behind sunglasses. Hasiya’s wardrobe tends to be practical above all else. A lot of her outfits include baggy pants and tight fitting tops to show off her form but for good movable clothing for activities. With grunge style and tall combat boots, Hasiya wears dark browns, greens, blacks, and especially red and maroon. She will wear gold jewelry that compliments her black and gold tattoos on her upper arms of foxes and tulips. His favorite outfit, however, is his tight black pants, a tight tank top, and his white fur coat. It is not fur from a killed animal but from Hasiya herself as Hasiya has an ulterior form. Like a large werewolf or contorted wendigo, Hasiya can shift into a white beast with dark brown streaks of fur that match the hand-like claws of Hasiya’s front legs. The beast-form walks upright with a massive hunch, so much so that this large creature is crouched to half its height and placing at least one of its bony, sharp hands on the ground. It has a long snout and triangular ears with large elk horns on its head. Its mouth glows the color of hot embers, the same glow emitting from under the white cloth covering most of its hundreds of eyes with black scleras and red irises. Backstory: She is the goddess of blood, communication, and willpower. Earning these titles from both her powers and myths, she is most known for her strong beliefs in the strengths of family/found-family, strength, leadership, and determination to face the odds above all else. While it was rumored that he has a mortal family or that he can be heard running with beasts on full moons, it is agreed that he is a lighthearted and kind deity so long as his values are upheld by others. Likes: White Foxes, Tulips, Physical Affection, Pomegranates, Carnelians, Warm Fireplaces, Spicy Foods, Physical Activity, and Pranks Dislikes: Eagles, Cleanliness, Not Physically Interacting With Friends/Family, Kiwi, Citrus, Slime, Sour Foods, Sitting Still, and Uptight People Theme Song or Quote*: “Unstoppable” by the Score I guess? ~~~~~ Name: Cal “Callie” Thi Lê Age: 26 Gender: Gender-fluid Pronouns: They/her/him Sexuality: Ambi-Bisexual Appearance: Cal looks like they would blow over and fall to the ground in moderate wind, but they are surprisingly stronger than they seem. They stand at six foot four, extremely tall for someone of their age and their legs seem disproportionately long compared to their torso, head, and arms. They used to be a lot lankier and thinner, but now he is muscular enough that he does not look like he has been starved his whole life. Large feet at a size 10 men’s, thin, slouching shoulders, and sharp hips all make up the person who looks like they were stretched out in a taffy machine. They also have a lot of bruises. Bruises? Yes, he has a lot of bruises. Too many. Scars that cover their arms in perfect circle formation that look like they were burned into them, scratched and dried blood solidified on their knuckles, and purple hand marks on their wrists are just some of the bruises that paint their rough skin. Cal is often covered in dirt and scrapes, but don't forget their twitchy long fingers that look like they are pencils strapped to his palms. They, their lengthy skeleton fingers, have tiny nails that are always filed down with dirt and grim beneath them and are decorated with colorful band aids to try and hide the cuts, scratches, and bruises earned from punching assholes. They have a few other scars, one on their leg, a very prominent one in the middle of their ribs, and another on the back of their neck, but if I went over them all, we’d be here forever. Fortunately for them, Cal is what someone would call roguishly handsome, minus the handsome. Maybe add a little handsomeness, but she just looks too tired to try. They have narrow, rectangular shaped eyes that are a warm brown. Their eyes rest under thin eyebrows and over heavy bags and seem to look like honey under the proper lighting. They always seem filled with either a mischievous plot or sorrow. Their nose is narrow and pointed and their cheeks and ears are often red, a nice compliment to his slightly tan skin. Thin lips shape cheesy grins and large smiles into their oval face, androgynous and a small gap can be seen between their teeth when they do. Their hair is dark brown, smooth and silky soft, and stretches down to midway between his shoulders and chin. Cal’s hair has curtain bangs and hair that is half-up, half-down most of the time to add to their androgynous appearance. Backstory*: haha no. not right now at least. Likes: Making people smile, a nice warm meal, sunny weather when it isn’t too humid or hot, science theories, space, a good book, ghost stories and haunted looking places, making others proud, track and field, art, psychology, writing, baking, + parties Dislikes: Cold, rainy weather, stale food, ketchup, English (I mean really, who even likes this anyways?), his stupid allergies and not being able to pet cats, his asthma, having to squint at things to see properly because of his vision, guns, tight spaces, drinking anything around people, + especially people taking photos of him. Theme Song or Quote*: “Golden Boy” by Bryce Fox
