This mare is quite lovely in terms of appearance. She will stand at generous height of 15.4hh when older , but her legs make her appear just a tad bit taller. She has power in her kick and movements due to this height. She also in a way has a balance of speed and power in her kick. She has a well formed face that is slender and feminine in appearance. Her coat is what's consider a painted one. She bears a gorgeous blood bay coat. Her coat is a gorgeous shade of blood-red, similar to that of a mahogany chestnut, but their is a difference. Blood Bays have black points however hers are covered by the white on her legs, but she has the points on her ears. When her coat is further inspected it can appear to be almost purple in coloration. All these proves that she is a true blood bay.

Her body is compact and stocky in appearance. She has a powerful and well balanced build. Her beauty is added to even more with the gorgeous white tovero markings. She has spots that range in size around her flank and shoulders with some extending to her neck. The dark pigment around her ears for what can be called a 'medicine hat'. Her hindquarters are rounded and her back is broad and flexible for smooth and quick movements. She also bears a well muscled neck and excellent bascule. Her body is well muscled and it bears some scarring but it is mainly hidden by the darkness of her coat and the white markings.

This mare bears a multi-colored mane and tail. Both have the same colors yet are different in appearance. Her mane is mainly a lovely shade of platinum blonde with some tinges of yellow along with black hair with a mix of softer brown undertones. Her tail is mainly obsidian and black, but if one looks closer you can see the small amount of platinum blonde in it. Her hooves are a shade of tan with a sight pinkness to them. They are sturdy and flexible and allow her a range of motion. This mare smells like a mixture of fresh rain and the fragrance of jasmine and honeysuckle.
Personality:
The first thing one notices about this young creature is her steel glare. It's something she has quite mastered even for her young age. This female is known for her crabby and rather apathetic behavior. While this young creature can definetly be mannerable and show someone respect, it's just a matter of who exactly it is. This young creature doesn't like to be told what to do by any adult she doesn't like especially one that aren't her parents or related to her. If someone tried to tell her what to do she'd give them a small snarl and say, "You're not my parents or a relative, so you have no authority to tell me what to do." She's stubborn in this way, only those that are her family and friends of said family have the capacity to even remotely tell her what to do. She also can be described as a old soul in a young body, if not from her constant look of disgust when pups are playing idiotic and mindless games - you'll hear her say, "Hmph, I am above playing with a stick. You'd never catch me doing something so idiotic and unproductive." Yes, if you couldn't tell this young thing is quite a precocious little thing, one who is very intelligent for her age. This young creature would rather be watching wolves hunt or spar rather than playing games of tag, chasing one's tail, or gnawing on a stick. You will find her watch and observing others - soaking in knowledge of techniques and listening to the adults very closely. This creature doesn't like to be coddled or being treated like a child - even though she is one, she's mature and she's one to prove that she is.

This female is quite odd when it comes to social interactions. She doesn't like hanging out with other foals - she'd rather be with her own siblings after all they are her first priority. Her family comes before anyone else - she choses them above anyone. This little creature is quite frosty and supsicous when stranger pups come asking her to play - she'll cut her eyes at you and tell you to go away. However, if one is persistantly trying to know her she will eventually give in and go with them, but she won't play no dumb games. She won't chew on a stick but she will wrestle with you afterall that strengthens her body, she won't chase her tail but she will play hide and seek because it sharpens her tracking skills. Yes, she wants games that work her brain. If one doesn't just persist in befriending her then they may try a differant approach, you may find her on her little "perch" or high spot doing "survellience" on the pack. Yes, if you come and sit next to her and silently observe the pack with her then maybe she'll acknowledge you, possibly - she'll give you the latest gossip or gossip with you.

This female is quite protective of her friends. If her friend has a new friend then she wants to know who they are, where they come from, and why are they friends with her friend. Yes, she is a little jealous creature when she's not getting a lot of attention from friends. It can come out as a form of slight pouting, more grumpiness, or just plain saying she doesn't like it. This creature also isn't above boldly telling off an adult if they are messing with her friends. She will bite or kick at the ankles of an adult with her sharp as hell fangs "defending" her friend. Good friends to her are like family. Speaking of family, that's another way to earn her friendship. If her family adores you then she'll tolerate you and possibly become attatched to you, however the moment you say something bad or mean about her family she will throw you aside. Another thing is, if you're her blood kin she automatically adores you even if she doesn't show it. She'll have her favorite sibling or favorite cousin and her favorite aunt and uncle if she has any, this also include those she views as play relatives. This female will always be found trailing her father as she's a daddy's girl, if she's not trailing him then she's bombarding him with questions or just laying on him. She adores her father, but she also does love her mother and siblings if she has any. Be warned: she may be the youngest, oldest, or middle sibling but she will defend them with all she's got.

This little pup holds a certain, confidence within herself. It's shown in the way she holds herself: the power in her little steps, her communication skills, and the way she behaves. This young foal walks with her head held high and her tail in a graceful arc, she doesn't have slouchy posture, nor does she want to have it. This may give this little filly the air of being a snobbish creature, however - she's far from it, from time to time she will get of her little "high horse" and do the games she deems mindless. These are rare and few at times and she'll deny it with a swiftness, but secretly she'll enjoy it. This female - like any kid has curiosity and she enjoys exploring as well, but she's not one to boldly wander off by herself, unless a friend has convinced her it's okay or to join them, only then will she wander. Afterall, she doesn't want to end up bear food. While she's also blunt, she's the friend that can keep others out of trouble and knock some sense to them. All in all, she's just a precocious and complex creature - she's not everyone's cup of tea and she doesn't give a damn if she isn't.

Angus

Commonly known as "Gus"

╙═════════ ❥ ═════════╜

Gus "is a homey grandpa nickname"

Short for Angus an English form of the Scottish Gaelic and Irish "Aonghas".

Gus is a colt nearing his yearling years. Just a month and a half out. However, once he is grown Gus will grow to be just a bit taller than his sire at roughly 16.2 hh. Overall making him an average horse in her height, though more on the taller end. This colts build will be leaner, more for speed, stamina, and agility, though he will be just as strong as your average stallion. His weight will be around 1,000 lbs. Despite a lean build, the visible muscle will be seen mainly along his chest, legs, and haunches. Now, his gait is quite smooth, whether he is trotting, cantering, or galloping, he is built for speed, which can be seen in his fluid motions. If she shall even become injured, her change in gait will be very apparent.

This colt's coat is a lovely chestnut, it's on the darker side of the scale, but not by much. The color is rich and warm, and quite consistent in its pattern. The foals coat turns slightly darker and more vibrant leading up the back of his neck, and particularly around his face. However, it is hardly noticeable except in quality lighting. His coat itself is healthy, feeling soft to the touch and not missing any patches, even having a shiny appearance. He has no scares to disrupt her coat, despite the traumatic situation __ faced, he was unscathed. At least physically. Gus currently stands at about 13-14hh at the withers and weighs around 450-470 lbs. His frame is rather sturdy and he is quite strong for his age, though not abnormally.

The few markings he does have, include a white stripe going down the front of his face. The marking carries onto his muzzle making it more of a stripe into a snip. The stripe on his face is more similar to an "irregular blaze". The other markings he has include some smaller ones on his hooves. Gus's chestnut base color lightens around all four hooves, though his front left is the one with the marking. It seems to be about the size of a white stocking. Besides these markings listed above, Gus has no more.

As of now Gus's mane and tail are rather short. His mane, matching his chestnut base coat in appearance, only more vibrant, is sort of spikey and fluffy looking, while his tail is roughly half of its length. Only long enough to just barely be seen between his legs, and is the same color as his mane. This colt's eyes are a striking pair. While not a light blue or a bright color that may stand out, in good lighting you can see the layers to them. Variations of browns pepper his eye, though at a glance they appear to take a darker tone to them. Some other aspects of this colt include scent, Gus smells of fresh grass, and sometimes wildflowers after rolling through them. Though this may change depending on where the group travels through, and what this colt decides he wants to roll through.

foal-43-by-elaineselenestock-d41ydal-fullview.jpg

Personality:

Sarcastic || Tense || Level headed || Practical || Social, though can be independent || Trustworthy || Fearless....or he tries || Phonophobia[temporary] || Caring || Observant || Resilient || Stubborn || Protective || Pleasant || Mature? || Playful

Gus is an interesting character. He is rather social, enjoying good conversation and being in the presence of others. But he also enjoys time on his own, as of now he wouldn't really prefer it, this colt isn't trying to run into another grizzle bear any time soon. His independent side allows him to feel mostly comfortable if he is ever separated from the group, and also allows him to be fine with not constantly needing to socialize with the others. Gus quite enjoys silent walks just off to the side of the group. When conversing with the other foals he tends to loosen up from his normally tense state, he particularly likes to joke around or follow up a comment with a sarcastic remark. Circling back to tensing up, this colt has been on high alert since the bear attack, he may need some warning if you approach him. Catching Gus off guard might earn you a swift kick to the rump if you're careful. He's ready to defend himself at a moment's notice.

Generally, this colt is level-headed, he is not one to jump to conclusions and is rather practical. His temper is mild, obviously, if you push his buttons he is going to retaliate, but as long as you aren't purposefully bugging him he's fine. Gus is an observant colt. Picking up on small physical cues such as the twitch of an ear, or verbal ones such as a change in tone. He does care for his half-siblings and the others in the group and is rather protective over his small family. Even if the gesture isn't much, like, what is a little foal going to do? He still will do his best to keep them safe. In this way you can also consider him trustworthy, he'll have your back if you do the same for him. Gus isn't one for gossip either.

Now, this colt will do his best to face a scary situation head-on. He does his best to come across as fearless, even if he is panicking internally, whether this is a success or not depends on the situation. From this recent attack, he has temporarily gotten a form of Phonophobia or a fear of loud noises. He can still hear the savage roaring of the grizzly at night. The volume of its roars is what made him panic and start to develop the fear, though it will go away over time. In this way he starts to take after his father, becoming a bit more resilient as the days go on.

Other than being occasionally stubborn, Gus can be a pleasant colt to be around. Despite growing up with two opposite parents, one an aggressor and the other easily spooked and anti-social. This colt is a comforting soul to be around, at times his intelligence and wisdom shine through, as if an older horse was stuck on his young body. He can give some decent advice. The recent situation may have left him stunned and a little quiet for the next following days, but he does bounce back rather quickly other than a few remaining side effects. Though the memories of his former herd will never leave him.

Name:
Rose
Age:
Seven months, five days
Gender:
Female
Rank:
Foal
Appearance:
proxy-image.jpg
Image from Shutterstock
Rose inherited her father's deep red base coat. Her mane and tail are a jet-black colour, and of average length. Rose's mane lies preferentially on the left side of her neck. This filly is prone to swishing her tail, either to deter flies or as a gesture of annoyance or frustration. Like her mother, her markings are Sabino; three legs are daubed in a snowy white colour from hoof to halfway to her knee. These three hooves match their pale limbs, and are a pale ivory in hue. Her right foreleg, however, is the same deep red as her base coat. A white blaze runs from her muzzle to her forehead. Up to her eyes, the blaze is symmetrical, but above her coppery brown orbs the blaze arcs to the right. A curl twists upwards, meeting her mane on a windless day.
Rose has long legs relative to her body - slightly more so than most foals. It is clear that this fact pleased her, as she often stood tall with her neck raised. She is often restless, stamping a hoof, swishing her tail, or shaking her mane. Rose's muzzle is neither especially concave nor convex.
Dimensions:
Two hundred pounds, twelve hands high.
Personality:
Rose, before that fateful day, was a haughty young horse. She wanted to prove that she was more mature than her peers, especially in one notable interest when she tried to eat grass before she was weaned. As much as she tries to deny it, though, she is still a foal, and couldn't help but get pulled into play at times. Of course, it's simply because she's humouring the other members of the herd, or so she says. When Rose plays, she tries to take a leadership role, and can be a bit overzealous in her attempt to take charge. Despite this, she cares for the other members of the herd, and is willing to listen to the problems of others. She's empathetic, even though she has a hard time opening up about her faults. She cared deeply for her father, and viewed him as something of a role model. Rose has been known to try to use the same intimidation tactics her father used to use, and clearly inherited his ability to learn quickly.
Now, however, her world has been shattered.
Rose no longer stands with her head held high, now often folding her ears backwards and lowering her muzzle. It is unclear yet whether she will recover her former confidence once the memoury of that bleak day fades. For now, she often stays close to the Guardian, hoping that there is some way she can help. It is clear that she is woefully out of her depth. No doubt she will make mistakes as she tries to endear herself to the Guardian and prove - to the Guardian as well as herself - that she is more than just a burden.

[Age] 11 months old

[Gender] Male

[Rank] Foal

[Appearance] horse-1-by-bouzid27-dbdpn2b-pre.jpg

(c)bouzid27 DA

A darkened coat with ombre qualities, the colt possesses a seal brown coloration, glossed and groomed. An inky black paints the majority of his physique, faint hints or even remnants of toasted bronze creeping throughout his pelt and hooking dominantly onto his underbelly. He stands at a stature of 13.2 hh and carries a weight of 546 pounds. His coat texture is short and coarse, certainly not something one would want to nuzzle between. But with that undesirable quality comes the deep, muscular crevices evident past his cropped fur, stretched thin across his flesh. He has misty gray hooves, matching the fair pigment of his nostrils. A milky white, spark shaped patch overlays his snout, just beneath a thick stripe of brown.

With a thick build, the colt has lengthy legs befitting of his athleticism, although his stomach often surpasses the average girth, nearing a bit of chub. The crest of his shoulders remain broad, flattering the wide disk of his haunches. Orochi’s mane is small and appears sawtooth, as if parted by one. His tail is perked and slopes down into what could be called a bundle of feathers. Its soft yet thin, having a particular sheen to its surface.

He has angular ears which pair well with his face, slightly wide forehead curving further down into the trace of his muzzle, and a narrow chest. The colt has dark, chaotic brown eyes, often captured with the sheer essence of discontentment. Wherever he walks, a distinct aroma of oakmoss will follow, fresh and possibly perched within the tassels of his hair. Orochi possesses a gait similar to a slink, head low and yet confident strides, mostly clumsy. When sleep, he tends to mimic the grand appearance of a corpse and naps like a log.

[Voice] Not very deep but it does have a bit of rasp to it. Like he needs to clear his throat.

[Attributes]|-irritable |-selective |-grumpy |-playful | |-quiet |-devious |-rude |-snide |-snobby |-doofus |-lazy but active |-curious |-uncaring | |-protective |-guarded |-possessive |-snitch |-hot tempered |-silly |-ambitious |-sly |-bully |-demanding |-very one faced |-toxic.

[Personality] Orochi is far from the most welcoming face. Nor is he the best behaved. The colt is troublesome, notorious for his unlikability, naturally a grump. He prefers to be alone, and yet desires all the companions in the world. He can get easily peeved, far too easily. Within his gaze is often a clot of dismay, sitting there. Brooding. Although angry and ill mannered, Orochi is short of being violent. If anything or anyone were to upset him deeply, the worst to come would be vengeful mockery or exclusion of the other party. He’ll always coax his “gang” or “posse” to join him, whether it be in ridicule or banishment from the “inner circle”, most antics won’t be done alone.

The colt is quiet and yet loud with opinions, retaliation, and moodiness. If not found being tiresome, he’s off on his own, silent. Or brazenly training himself for outrage. If not wandering, then he’s protecting. Be it a wad of garbage or not. With his active imagination, it could be a tumultuous sea monster that he has to defeat. Leave it be. With that factor, Orochi is extremely playful if not the most. He will transform anything into a game and parade around as if a knight weighed with medallions.

Despite his exterior, Orochi is severely dependent. He relies on a lot of things. A lot of beings. In a way, he can even appear a bit fastidious. He’d prefer things to go his way all the time. It can make him insufferable, and yet he continues to redeem himself with affection. The colt is a lover. He dislikes the majority and is extremely choosy as to who he associates himself with, but when he loves, he loves hard, often displaying a habit of possessiveness over his friends. But even those he’s closest with aren't immune to his temper. There is never a “boiling” point for the male. He’s always boiling. Just wait for the overflow and you won’t like him for more than a minute.

The colt has a high head. An inflated head. Nothing can hurt more than a kick to his pride. So you should aim there.

“Soleil”

Meaning “sun” or “sunshine”

Age:

5

Gender:

Mare

Rank:

Guardian

Appearance:

(This is a stock image; credit goes to Valarian-Warrior on DA)

Soleil is the ideal height, standing at 16.1hh and harboring a build that is meant for speed. Her long, muscular legs are what make up most of her height, as well as give her an edge on her speed. This means that not only is she large enough to deliver a nasty kick to anyone that dares threaten her— but she can also outrun anyone that she can’t handle in a fight. But, with her size it’s difficult for her to run a great distance, and she’s got a large stride which renders her unagile. Despite this, though, she moves gracefully and elegantly.

This mare’s coloration is nothing short of striking, her coat painted with a gorgeous mix of chestnut and white. She has short and sleek fur, which one could see just from looking at Soleil. She has four white socks on each of her legs, however, they often appear to be brown in coloration because of the dust and mud that she kicks up while walking. Her hooves are lighter in color, too, so they too often look dirty and stained in filth.

Soleil's mane and tail are both, like the rest of her body, a wonderful chestnut color, as well as quite long. In fact, this mare's tail is so long that the end of it nearly touches the ground.

Soleil’s muscular neck grows narrow and thin towards her head, which is chestnut except for a large splash of white, which begins at her nose and climbs up to her forehead. Her snout ends colored with a splash of pink, which blends in perfectly against the white surrounding it. Her ears are pointed and constantly alert, always on the listen for predators or any lurking threats. This mare harbors warm, beautiful amber eyes. However, in an instant her friendly gaze can turn to ice.

Lastly, during the recent bear attack, Soleil had gotten an injury in the form of a clawmark across her right hindquarters. For the most, it doesn't affect the mare, but, if one looks closely, sometimes she has a small limp, and her gaits seem to have slightly less grace than they used to.

Personality:

On the outside, Soleil is a friendly and outgoing horse. She always harbors a positive outlook on life, and makes sure to retain an optimistic mindset and an upbeat attitude. She always tries her absolute hardest to make sure that everybody can say the same thing as her, and you’ll never see this horse not trying to cheer somebody up. Her name, which means “sun” or, “sunshine,” does not only apply to her appearance, as in terms of personality it’s impossible for her brightness to go unnoticed.

However, this mare’s bubbly and animated personality is nothing more than a facade. She tries desperately to gain the likability of others because of how seriously she takes the opinions of others. Soleil is very sensitive to how others view her, and wants to be somebody that everybody likes, rather than a horse that is more of a nuisance than an asset. Though, it isn’t as if she’s never truly friendly. In fact, she has a genuine soft spot for those that are related to her or are younger than her.

But after nearly her entire herd was wiped out, Soleil’s true colors started to show. She is truly a pessimist; tending to have a rather negative perspective on life. She has learned never to expect anything good, because she has the thought that in the end, she will always be let down. This mare can be snappy and rude whenever somebody presents themself to be an annoyance; and she isn’t afraid to bite, kick, or lash out if her warnings go unheeded.

Soleil would prefer to spend her time alone— secluded from all other horses out of the fear that they’d end up devastated like her former herd. And, she isn't the social butterfly that she makes herself out to be. She values the time that she gets to herself, and enjoys the sound of silence. But, she isn’t so heartless that she’d abandon the few remaining foals because of her own selfish desires. She fully intends to raise the survivors into adulthood, and only wants the best for them. She feels a sense of protectiveness towards the young horses, and Soleil would like to teach them all that she can before they’re strong enough to fend for themselves. Even if it means they annoy or pester her at times.

In a way, Soleil is a mature horse. She has a lot of knowledge on the world and how it works, which means that she knows what to do in an unfavorable situation.
