Upon The Horizon

It was peaceful. The birds were dancing along the branches of great evergreens, singing their hearts out for all to hear. Their wings fluttered, their toes tiptoed across the damp branches. They were proud of themselves for such a performance, and carried on beautifully.

Early morning, below the great tops of evergreens and the dancing birds, a relatively large herd had laid rest, most were lying down, taking in the fresh morning's smell. Others had stood, grazing, taking the first bites of morning dew that trickled off of the many blades of grass.

Among the herd of equine, foals were not scarce. Unlike their dams, they were grouping up, a little ways away from the herd, and began to play. High pitched whinnying was distruptive to the calm atmoshere, hooves kicked up high in play, foals bounded upwards. These foals certainly were rambunctious, and maybe a too bit playful as some of their playful kicks directed at others striked a tree or two ~

They were living life, just like any other equine would.

But like any other story, it ended this very moment.

The sire of the foals, the protector of the herd, stood grazing, his eyes glued into every direction at a time. North, West, South and East. One would think he'd see an unnatural Bear coming around the corner, however, that one chunk of grass that he simply couldn't resist changed it all. Within the trees, a monster was lurking. But no one could see what what about to happen.

In an angry rampage, the monster lunged out from the shadows, a beast. A Grizzly Bear. It didn't hesitate, it didn't think, it ran. It barreled across the grass, its hungry eyes staring into the eyes of panicking horses, watching as they scurried to their hooves, but they were too late. This bear was no ordinary bear, its eyes were red and puffy, white foam foaming around his mouth and nose, its movements riggid and sudden. It would strike these horses like bugs, the power it had.. was unnatural. It was if it were all a dream, but no. It was not.

First, the Stallion jerked his head upwards, and had let out a loud call, trying his best to alert the herd before further panic, but he was too late. In a state of chaos, the Stallion rushed the mares to get up, but they too were not fast enough. The bear was coming closer, inch by inch, feet by feet. And without thinking, or giving it any forethought, he charged forward at the bear, realizing far too late he would not survive this. But he still had a sliver of hope he'd be able to make it out alive. He was, unsuccessful.

After a series of unfortunate events...

Blood was cacked to the trees, slowly dripping down through the crevices of the bark. It was splattered across the green grass, the dew now mixed in with the horrible red liquid. There was so much blood, so much that one could build a river with. And the corpses.. they kept piling in numbers. From the largest Lead Stallion, to the smallest 3 month old. The singing birds were now silent. The soft breathing, and small nickers passed on from one mare to the next, dead silent. It was all so.. so very quiet. The playful foals were no longer playful. The foals that escaped the jaws of death, were standing upon the blood and gore of their herd. Countless of mares and foals lied dead in the grass, their bodies limp and lifeless. All while the survivors stood there, their hearts quaking.

It was supposed to be a peaceful morning.

No Marys or Garys. Be creative, I actually want this RP to be a hit, and effortless characters are a no no. This also means general proper punctuation and grammar. I understand a few mishaps here and there, everyone does it! But not every 6 words..

1 Character Per Person. Unless we loose members, of I decide to have more, 1 Character Per Person. Speaking of which, Reservations last 12 hours, unless asked { in PMs }.

This is Semi - Lit to Lit RP. I expect detailed personalities and appearances, Stock Images or not. 300+ Words at the minimum. I understand Writers Block, but try your best. If you experience Block, please PM me.

5.

I decline forms as I see fit, and if I see that you are not fit for this RP, you will only gain 1 more chance of entering before you are no longer given a chance. And because this is a small RP, I will become more picky with people. Do not take offense if your post is declined.

6.

Your character is not indestructible. It will be scathed if it decides to run full speed into a tree.

7.

No OOC drama. Keep it between OCs only. I personally don't like it when people become rude or snappy.. so please, do us all a favor, and don't fight between members.

8.

Romance is NOT allowed. These are foals.. not adults. Yes, there may be "crushes" and teasing on how a foal likes another foal or whatnot, regular kid stuff, but no actual romance.

9.

Expect Time Skips & Updates IN RP. Such as, wheather warning or predator warning to prep the members of when something tragic may hit. Time Skips will not be very common, mostly only used for when all the characters fall alseep.

Guardian

The last living adult from the Tazarack Herd. Scathed, and scarred emotionally and/or physically, this horse has taken on the responsibility to care for, and protect the Tazarack's last descending offspring, all up until their last breath. The Guardian can be Mare or Stallion, but has genetic relation to these foals, if not all of them.

Guardian has a responsibility to help, care, and teach these foals to survive, and thrive. With no other help, the Guardian will most likely have struggles when doing so, but hopefully they will overcome those struggles. It will not be surprising if said Guardian becomes overwhelmed, and takes a break from the foals and nips them, but they will never break/fracture bones, leave them unattended for long { 30+ minutes }, etc.

The Guardian is the "parent" of this small band. The foals are expected to listen, and they look up to the Guardian for both knowledge and safety.

Foals

Self explantory. Foals. The offspring of the dams and either Lead Stallion or his Deputy, the surviving lineage of the Tazarack Herd. They have witnessed the death of their friends, and family.

They are led by their Guardian, the last remaining adult of their previous herd. They are small, meak, afraid, and are confused. This is new to them, and they are not prepared for what is to come, nor do they want to be.

These horses are on a journey. They must travel along the Lands of the Pure, the Never Ending Plains, and lastly, the Ocean of Life. These lands were named for, not for the foolish, but for the wise to heed. These lands are not to be underestimated, as they can swallow you up, and will never let you go.

Weighing about, 380 - 420 lbs, and standing 12 - 13hh at the withers.

Valora has a coat pattern commonly known as, Tobino. Only two visible colors are visible across this fillies body, quite prominent, white and a light chestnut. From what some say, white markings are like a blanket, covering over the original horses colors. Lets.. use that theory, hm? Valora's body is pure chestnut, with a darker mane & tail. Almost looking as if they were more on the blacker side. Scattered across her body, a white color pattern reaches from nose to rump, holes revealing the chestnut underneath the snow - white blanket. Not just over her body, but the white plague - like pattern seeps through her mane, and the base - end of her tail, fading out into the darker locks of hair. Upon her head, below her forelock, two mesmerizing eyes stare out into the horizon. A common, yet beautiful dark - hazel color, with a hint of grey pigment. Below her majestic looking colors, her powerful legs, her hooves are oval - shaped, and look as if they are sharpened with a rigid knife. From the dragging of hooves across rough terrain, rocks, and logs, the tips of her hooves are somewhat chipped. The original color of her hooves are unknown, as they are stained by mud, dirt, and only who knows what else.

This fillies' mane and tail are rather longer than what the average 9 month old foals, but that is what only makes her more beautiful. Its obvious to tell that once she grows to her full potential, the hair on the back of her neck will most likely reach her shoulders.. if she takes care of it properly of course. Along with abnormal length in locks, her coat seems to be slightly longer. Not as one of the curly horse breed, or having a winter coat all seasons long, just a tini lil bit.

Foals are growing.. they won't always be a lil.. hormonal asshat- right?

If you were to approach this filly, and think to youself, questioning as to why this foal is licking a tree, or doing her best to swallow a rock { totally not remembering that chicken in the disney movie, Moana } then you are probably also wondering whats the point of trying to converse with what seems like pure stupidity. Well, don't we have a surprise for you! In fact, she is not stupid, the things she does, she indeed is. But, as a matter of fact, she is licking rock or eating a tree just to gain attention. Mhm. You heard it right~ this little one right here is one of the most notorious attention seekers you may ever find yourself interacting with. If she isn't involved, she will. If you aren't paying attention to her, she will make you. Sometimes, its funny to watch her horrible attempts for attention. Other times.. such as when she thinks licking a poisonous snake.. its quite concerning. But heyy- hopefully she will grow out of it, yah?

Whats an attention seeker without an urge to be curious about every little thing that moves and/or breathes? Ok. So that may be a little dramatic, but this foal is certainly a curious little brat sometimes. Yknow how other foals may question, " how were we made? " aha.. no. Valora won't simply just ask how they were created, she will pester and pester for details. More than just the details of "love" and "commitment" to a relationship. If you happen to be the victim of such a situation, we all send our regards and promise to escort her from your funeral.

There is always that one foal who corrects you on every mistake you make. Theres no need for explanation. We just wish you the best, and hope you make it out alive if this occurs.

If you are to tell this filly, "no" then you are in for a treat!
