next morning, them setting sail??

It was the perfect day to begin their voyage. Sure, Carwen very much enjoyed high waves and roaring winds, but today, it was clear skies with the perfect amount of wind. The ocean was calm, for now at least, as there had been talk of a storm brewing in the East that may push them off course, wherever that course may be, as Carwen still did not know. Truthfully, she was hardly concerned about that, she was just ready for adventure.

The crew seemed to reflect Carwen's good mood, as they were also in high spirits. The buzz of conversation lit the air as the men spoke about the treasure to soon come. Below deck, men were also organizing the storage room, trying to fix things so it would be easier to find exactly what you were looking for when you needed to find something.

The crew was mildly suspicious of this other crew that would be aboard their ship, but Carwen trusted them enough to let them on, and the crew trusted her judgement.

Magdalene had warned her crew to be on their best behavior, while also making sure Carwen'a crew didn't push them around. She had also instructed that if Carwen gave an order to listen if it was in regards to running the ship. She didn't have control over Magdalene's crew, but she would know what her ship needs.

Magdalene led her party to the ship, and waited to board. Last night they had dropped off most of the extra supplies they had brought, and the crew's trunks. The only stuff that hadn't been loaded was Magdalene and Haywood's trunks.

Carwen appeared soon after Magdalene's crew appeared on the docks. The pixie wore the clothes she normally wore aboard her ship, a tunic and some looser fitting trousers that allowed her to move about freely and quickly.

After a long moment, her pretty eyes flitting around as she took in the other crew, she waved them aboard. Her own crew continued to move about, making sure the ship was ready for whatever the ocean threw at them. Despite the fact that they were all busy, the crew glanced at the other crew boarding their ship. Nobody seemed too tense, but a few seemed a little nervous. Carwen's crew was used to conflict, but a few were a little jumpy, unfortunately, they also happened to be really good crew members, so Carwen couldn't have let them stay on land with the others.

Magdalene led her crew aboard the ship, and directed them to find a place where they could help. On a ship this large that normally had double Carwen's current crew size, there was always work that could be done. Magdalene kept two extra hands to help carry the remaining trunks, "Where can I set down my trunk?" Haywood would drop his trunk off in Magdalene's room as well, although he'd be staying with the crew.

Carwen was directing her crew to what needed to be done when Magdalene approached, which immediately ended the conversation as she nodded towards Northcliff who was just as capable as she was of giving out orders and also working the ship. "In you're room, I'll show you there." Carwen seemed at ease, as she tended to be on her ship.

On land, the small woman held this sort of coiled tension, like a viper ready to attack. On her boat, with it's familiar feel and welcoming faces, she was much more relaxed. Do not be fooled though, as she was still perfectly capable of slitting someone's throat and just continuing what she had been doing before. She was as moody as the ocean itself.

Carwen led Magdalene down into the heart of the ship, where more of her crew flitted about, helping where needed. A few nodded respectfully at Carwen and Magdalene, but most just stayed out of the way as their captain led the other woman to her quarters.

Haywood and the two other crew mates followed their Captain, who was also helping with carrying the trunks. Magdalene turned to look at Haywood, "You can store your trunks in my quarters." Haywood was a very light packer, and the items in his chest were mostly items for navigation, a few changes of clothes, and items that might be useful for the journey.

Once they arrived at Magdalene's quarters, they placed down the trunks, and the crew members and Haywood hurried back to the main deck to help prepare the ship for sailing.

Carwen remained in the room as to speak with Magdalene. There was still much planning to do, especially to do with the fact that there were now two captains, and both crews would probably be confused on who to listen to.

"So, have you figured out a good route towards the treasure? One where we won't die immediately by going through it." Carwen was definitely up for a challenge, she always was, but she would not put her crew in more danger than they already were in.

Magdalene nodded, then hesitated, "Well, I found the best path, but it is still going to be a challenge." The Captain pulled out the maps that she had tucked away. One was the map from the treasure chest, and one was Magdalene's more accurate and detailed maps of the same area. She spread them out of the bed, and traced her finger lightly across the path that they should take, "There is a river here, that cuts across this landmass," Magdalene pointed to a waterway that wasn't on the other pirate's map, "It'll cut down the length of the journey by three days, but the current can be rough. Your ship will be able to fit through it, though, we'll just have to have to constantly be on watch. Then," Magdalene traced her finger along the river, than back out into the ocean, "We pass through the Whale's Graveyard, making sure not to anger them," The whales there were known man-eaters, "And then going out into the open water, cross the Trench," The trench was one of the deepest parts of the ocean, "And in the middle of the Monster Waters, there is an island that the treasure should be on. At least, it looks like one island on his map, but there are actually at least five islands, along with underwater masses, so we'd need to be careful about steering." Magdalene stood up, a sly grin on her face, "Whatcha think?"

Carwen inspected Magdalene's course with a serious expression. For a long moment she said nothing, just trying to figure out if this route would seriously endanger her crew more so than normal. Soon, her own grin was on her face and she stood up, looking up at Magdalene with an impish grin. "It looks perfect. Just the right amount of danger and adventure, just what we needed." Her crew had been warn out recently by hanging around the land-dwellers more, and this adventure was exactly what they needed to regain their sense of adventure.
