+ 3rd Person - The Headmaster's Office +

Cruelian sat in the chair in front of the headmaster's desk, while the headmaster stared out of the window.

"Cruelian, did you ever consider becoming a corrupt one while you were away?" the headmaster asked. 'Corrupt ones'. they were unicorns that ignored their judgment and chose based on their own preference and what wasn't right.

"No," He responded, and then the headmaster spoke up again

"That would mean you don't lie, and instead use riddles to confuse or contradict your own sentences?" He asked.

"Yes sir," Cruelian said, still looking at the floor.

"Look at me son," The headmaster said. Cruelian wasn't his biological son, instead, he was adopted because his parents were killed by terrorists. Cruelian slowly looked up at him, "What would you consider your relationship with Urimenor and Dakoda to be?" he asked and Cruelian thought.

"I see Uri as a little sister, mainly because I had a little sister once as you know. I see my sister in her, so she is like family," He explained

"What about Dakoda?" The headmaster asked

"I don't know, I kinda just see him as someone to teach and be a good example for," He said unsure, It was clear that Uri and Cruelian were the two with the strange unicorn-dragon bond that can be found in the wild. Unicorns would make the dragon's home flourish in return for protection against those who would seek to harm it.

+ Urimenor - 1st Person +

I sat in the meeting room as I worked on the waiver, as I had already finished the final draft of the proposal. I sang quietly as I took all the bullet points I made and turned them into phrases with deep explanations. I made sure there were no cracks and if there were I was going to mark it down and fix it.

Dakoda was quietly organizing the bracket, as it had gotten quite late and we were working into the night. We only had 1 day to finish everything, and that day was tomorrow. There was only one window in the meeting room so eventually, Dakoda went to get a couple of candles to light up the room.

Once I finished the waiver I rested my head on my arms as I lay my head down. It was my mistake because I fell asleep.

+ 3rd Person - The Meeting Room +

Dakoda noticed that she fell asleep after putting all her finished papers in a folder. Letting out a sigh he tried to figure out what he should do. His piercing blue eyes seemed to shine after the candles went out. He ran his hand through his curtained, black, hair.

He got up and left the room and returned to a blanket to drape over her. He would have just picked her up and took her to her room if it was that simple. Unfortunately, her extra set of arms wouldn't let that happen. He had grabbed himself a blanket as he didn't know if she would freak out seeing as she was in a room alone. Some people didn't know where they are when they first woke up and he wasn't about to risk it.

I went to my dorm and I went go to bed as I figured it would be better than to see anyone from the top 10. I was feeling calm as I had to get dressed for bed. I got my pajamas on and I went to sleep as I knew that I was not longer going to be talking to anyone except for Olivia and Bruce. I finally fell asleep as I was tried from the classes that I had. I knew that I would never see Urimenor again but that was fine with me. I stayed asleep as I was hoping to see Olivia and Bruce again tomorrow as I was wanting to spend time with them. They were my only true friends that I had and I was feeling calm.

3rd person (Bruce's dorm.)

Bruce was at his dorm as he was getting ready for bed and he was not wanting to see anyone for the rest of the night as he knew that Bobby would needed him as a friend and not an enemy. Bruce sighed as he got his pajamas on and he was feeling calm. Bruce got in his bed as he was thinking about what he could do to help Bobby out with everything. Bobby was like his brother and Bruce wanted to help out in anyway that he could. Bruce finally went to sleep.

3rd person (Olivia's room.)

Olivia was sitting on her bed as she had her pajamas on and she was thinking about what had happened. Olivia knew she had to keep training Bobby to fly normally but she was confused on why the person who was supposed to train him never showed up. Olivia knew that Bobby was a hybrid but that meant nothing as she knew he was a good person. Olivia whispered "we will show them all what they don't know about hybrids like you Bobby. I can promise that." She went to sleep.

+ Urimenor - 1st Person +

I woke up and felt something hard under my arms. Letting out a yawn and sitting up, I looked around me. I must have fallen asleep in the meeting room-

A light snore caught me off guard, as Dakoda was passed out on the other end of the table. I questioned whether he passed out as well, or if he just didn't want me to be alone. I got up and stretched only then realizing there was a blanket on my back because it fell.

I let out another yawn and continued to stretch as I brushed out my hair with my fingers since I didn't have a brush.

The sun was just coming over the horizon, I rarely ever woke up this early. I opened the window and moved a chair over so I could listen to the morning birds. I started humming as I stared outside and tried to brush my hair.

Soon enough I heard Dakoda starting to wake up but paid no mind as I was in my own little world. The birds, humming, the breeze, the peace and quiet, all of it allowed me to relax for a second.

Dakoda sat down on the ground next to me as he was clearly still waking up.

"Good morning," I said with a yawn

"Morning-" He said groggily, I wasn't expecting his deep morning voice but I guess mine was a little deeper as well. Then the door clicked

"Good morning you two," The headmaster came in carrying a tray that had 3 cups of coffee on it. I silently thanked him as he handed me a cup. I was startled when Dakoda groaned after tasting his coffee and he started chugging it.

"If you get the hick-ups I'm gonna make fun of you because you just chugged down coffee like a toddler that ain't allowed to have it," I said and a laugh from the headmaster caught me off guard.

"You two are entertaining when no one is watching, i suppose your guard is down since both of you are still half-asleep," He suggested with a smile on his face. I was too tired to find it weird or suspicious,

"Is your part finished?" I quickly asked Dakoda and he just nodded before he put his head on the table, waiting for the coffee to kick in. With that, I passed the project proposal folder to the headmaster. I sat and drank coffee as he read through it.

"This will do, I suppose you already made the sign-up forms, waiver, and bracket for each species?" he asked and I slid all three across the table to him. "This must have been why both of you were awake all night." He said and I just nodded while Koda was face down on the table.

In the end, it was approved, and it would be announced tomorrow Dakoda was bouncing off the walls with energy while I was still enjoying the coffee. We went ahead to my dorm and he helped me pack, of course, only going through what I told him to.

I got up in the moring and got dressed for the day as I was meeting up with Olivia and Bruce as we had plans for the day. I knew that they would be wanting to know about my parents and my history. I went to meet up with them and I gave Olivia a hug as she was my only friend who was a girl as I knew that I would never have another friend like her. Olivia asked me questions about my parents which I answered with the truth as my parents were rich but they were also very skilled with everything. I also explained how much it meant to my parents that I was making friends since it was hard for me to do it. Bruce was surprised and ask about why my parents put me though the school and not like one that had better students who could actually helped me. I explained that my parents wanted what was best for me and they knew that I could handle anything and everyone that was rude or just mean. I also explained that due to my death dragon side. I could easy call my parents if I need them since my death dragon was loud enough for another death dragon to hear it. Bruce look confused until I explained that my father was a death dragon and the last of the pure death dragons as far as I knew. Olivia was amazed at how much I knew about my family and she asked about my mother. I explained that my mother was the last of the werewolves who was feared by humans as claws like hers could rip though anything. Bruce was shocked and he ask about me. I explained that with both sides, I could easily defeat an army of humans as the death dragon did relase a toxic that can be deadly to humans and maybe shifters but I did not know if it was true.

As we were getting my stuff put together there was a knock at the door. Dakoda got up to get it and immediately stepped to the side as it was the headmaster and... Cruelian?

"I wanted to make this announcement to you two before it is made to the whole school tomorrow, along with everything else being said. I am leaving the top 10." he said and I stared at him with my mouth agape. Koda looked confused and horrified almost. "I'm leaving the top 10, so I can become the official advisor of the top 10 instead," He explained and both of us sighed in relief.

"Wouldn't that leave the 3rd spot open though!?" Dakoda said worried.
"Yes, it would but I have something I would like to add to the tournament if possible." The headmaster said, stepping into the conversation. "I would like to use this as an opportunity to allow more students in since some shifters enter the city in the middle of the school year with no other option than to wait." He explained

"That is okay with me, what about you," and Koda nodded.

"There is one issue though, and I don't know how to address it." The headmaster said and I froze, if he had to try and lighten the weight of something it was bad.

"Spill out words I will try and put it together," I said and he sighed

"A hybrid family found out we accept hybrids, and they would like to enter their son. I say a hybrid family because they have been mixing with other species in an attempt to get stronger offspring with every generation. Their son, and current heir to the head of their family, is proof it worked. I say this because he is mainly half phoenix half black dragon," My eyes opened wide

"What are his abilities?" I asked covering my mouth after extremely worried

"He is around your size Urimenor, if not bigger; he is already above our training level and is just going to come for the education; He has the phoenix ability of rebirth, but it doesn't just work when he dies. When he gets a scar or is injured and flames are thrown at him, he heals." I looked at Dakoda and I could just sense he felt his spot as number 1 was being threatened. "Here is one thing they brought up because their son does want to challenge you for the number 1 spot. If you lose you would get the next highest role available, which would be number 3. So you would still be in the top 3 if you lost. If he loses he will take the number 3 spot instead," He said explaining "The fight between the two of you will be the last fight of the tournament, and you both will be required to stay in your humanoid form. You have no choice but to say yes to this," He said completely finished and walking out the door. Cruelian followed behind him.

Koda stared at the ground trying to soak everything in,

"hey, how about we get everything moved over?" I said going up to him and rubbing his shoulder. "That way we can get this out of the way and then we can get our one day of relaxation," I explained and he nodded before grabbing stuff.

When we walked through the hall I recognized a couple of faces with my secondary eyes. But then I saw Bobby talking with 2 people and I just sighed. I closed my secondary eyes not wanting to see any more of it. Despite the situation, I still tried to find ways to talk to him, but he never once responded to my letter. I was only being used and abandoned once again. I decided to write one last letter to him before it is announced I'm number 2 now.

When we got to the shared dorm and after I got everything organized I started to write

Dear Bobby

I see you have found some new friends and I am proud as you have come a long way already. But it seems you have used and abandoned someone in the process, despite them trying to still spend time with you. It's too late to get them back now, but they will be to busy with their new job and position so they will not even be able to attend any classes but 1. Hope you have fun with your new friends, and I hope you don't betray them like you did me, despite me still trying.

I finished the Letter with the number 2 stamp. This was the first thing I was going to use it for, but oh well. I gave it to the messenger owl and it took it to him. Once the owl gave him the letter it left and returned to the dorm.

I got the letter and I went to respond to it. I did not betray her as she never even bother to talk to me except with letters.

I did not betray you. You never came back to flight class and you never bother to talk to me. It felt like you did not care if I was okay or not. But that is fine, I am used to it. You were always busy with your other friends that I decided to just stop. I know that I did not matter to you at all. Also, the teacher made Olivia as my new teacher since she knew you were also busy. I was getting to know Olivia and she was getting to know my family and I. I guess this is good bye than.

I put the stamp on it that was from my family and I gave it to another owl who gave it to her and returned to a dorm. I went back to Olivia and Bruce as they were teaching me how to do things differently. I knew that I did not betray Urimenor like she said that I did. She betrayed me and I figured she did not want to talk to me anymore which was fine by me. I was more than willing to leave her alone if she wanted. I sighed as Olivia took me to flight class as I wishing that my parents took me out of the school as the private school would have been more fun or at least allowed my uncle to train me. I did not care if Urimenor decided to never write me a letter as I did not want to talk to anyone and it was showing as she hurt me. She was never my friend as she always just treated me like I was just student who needed help with everything. I sighed as I was feeling like talking to my parents or at least just my uncle who was usually good at helping me with stuff like this. I decided that I was just going to watch Olivia fly around as I did not feel like flying. I was not sure if Urimenor would see that I never betrayed her since I was always waiting for her to return. I began to think about something as I knew that I was ready to fly again. I got on the platform and shifted into my hybrid form and I began to fly around like I was a normal dragon. I knew that I no longer trusted Urimenor at all as she is rarely here to see me flying. I closed my eyes as it felt natural and I was wishing for her to be able to see my flying since she was always busy. I was flying normally which made me happy. I opened my eyes to see that I could fly with my eyes close and I was super proud of that. I look around as I wanted Urimenor to see but she was not there just like always. I went to land on the platform as I felt like giving up on talking to her ever again. I heard a teacher calling for me so I shifted back into my human form and I went to him. He took me to the music room and told me to wait there. I was waiting for him to return and I decided to start singing a song that my parents used to sing to me whenever I felt alone.

After reading the letter I burnt it in my hand, Dakoda watched this.

"hey what happened!?" he asked startled

"I'm tempted to ruin someone's life, but I know that karma will slap them in the face tomorrow during the announcement." I hissed. "Maybe then he will realize why my only way of communicating was letters," I growled. I wanted to throw something,

"Hey," Dakoda said grabbing me by the shoulders, "let's go to the top 10 training room, I feel like we both will need it despite the fact that today was a day designated to relax." He said and I nodded as we both got changed into our official training gear.

Let's just say we were going at each other with nothing holding back, and the building started to shake with every blow. I was slightly glowing pink and he was slightly glowing blue. I was flexible and quick as a human, I knew acrobatics and my balance was on point. Dakoda was more of a tank. He could take hits and he could land 'em twice as hard, but he had yet to land a hit on me. I had already knocked him off balance 4 times. All of a sudden the doors burst open and there was the headmaster

"What the hell is going on-" He said and clearly noticed I was fueled with rage, and Dakoda was starting to get frustrated because he couldn't land a hit on me. "If you guys are duking it out trying to settle an argument, please do it in the coliseum," he said

"We aren't fighting URI was mad and I decided to take her here to let off steam. Now I'm getting frustrated and mad because I haven't landed a single hit." Dakoda explained, but something red caught my eye behind the headmaster. I saw Cruelian, to which I waved and he waved back. Then I looked to his left, the hybrid the headmaster was talking about. I could only guess they were getting a tour, but their son was there as well. His eyes were locked on me, he wasn't a member of the top ten yet so I didn't even acknowledge him since I was just filled with pure rage.

"Think of fluffy clouds," Cruelian said and immediately I became confused, my aura even died out.

"What?" I said confused

"Fluffy clouds???" Dakoda said as he heard it as well and his aura disappeared, even the headmaster looked puzzled.

"hey you aren't mad anymore," He said with a smile. The headmaster just laughed. and I just had a flustered look as if I was saying 'really?' but embarrassed at the sane time.

"Come on man we were just about to take it to the coliseum, you had to ruin the fun?" Dakoda complained.

"Both of you should technically be resting after the all-nighters you two have been pulling to get this event organized. I don't want you to be sick, and weak on the day of the announcement because you overworked your brain and body," Cruelian explained and I just let out a puff of smoke. "Don't puff at me," he said

"Your worse than my dad," I said back to him

"Yeah because I'm basically your adopted older brother," He said. I was at a loss for words for a second until he said "Gotcha," and laughed. I grabbed the nearest pebble and threw it at his forehead, but he ended up catching it. "if you wanna catch me off guard you are gonna have to do better than ThaaAAAT-" he screamed as I swept his feet out from under him since he was distracted by the pebble. My turn to boast now

"I thought they were supposed to teach you everything as you traveled. You must not have been taught to never let your eyes leave your enemy unless you can tell what they are doing with your other senses. I said dropping into a split and bending forward, just the Dakoda flew over my head and instead tackled Cruelian. "Look who's on top now," I said walking away with pride. I almost forgot we had guests but who cares, "Koda if you don't hurry up I won't save any food for you," I said walking towards the door.

"where are you going?" the headmaster asked.

"To go do what I should have been doing, and take a giant dragon nap after I eat a lot of food," I said with a smile before leaving.

I was honestly done with talking to Urimenor and I decided to just focus on myself. I did not care what she does or if she is still with the top 10. She had just proven my point. I went to my dorm as I was not hungry nor did I care about anything. I sighed as I was disliking her very much now. I said "it's for the better Bobby. She will never care about you or what you have done. I am not going to be here tomorrow to hear the announcement." I had to go help a teacher in a room as she did need help. I was not wanting to see Urimenor ever again which might sound rude but she honestly never even bother to find me after everything that had happened. I thought to myself that maybe it was for the best. I was wishing my parents were here to help celebrate my birthday as they were usually fun and I was needing a hug from them both. I wished to myself "happy early birthday Bobby. Looks like only Olivia and Bruce will be there to celebrate your birthday." I closed my eyes to sleep as I was not really hungry or wanting food. I opened my eyes and said "I need to fix things between me and Urimenor. I don't care if she hurts me. I deserve it. I just wanted her to know sorry I am." I sighed as I sat on the bed and began to wipe away the tears that began to roll down by face. I sighed as I got out a piece of paper and began to write myself a note as I wanted to be friends with Urimenor but I felt like nothing I say would ever work. I sighed as I was sitting on the floor in my room thinking. I whispered "I am sorry Urimenor. You deserve a better friend." I laid down on the floor as I was not sure what to do.

the new hybrid was watching them and he look confused as he ask "Will I be staying in the room with the other hybrid? I know him very well." He was not sure if they knew which hybrid he was talking about. A teacher came in as she had a question for the headmaster and she ask "Do you know Bobby?" The hybrid turn to look at her as he said "Yes Ma'am. I know Bobby. We are childhood friends though we grown apart from each other." The teacher nodded as she was confused. She ask "Headmaster, Bobby's parents would like to know if they can come here to see their son for his birthday. Should I tell them yes or no?" She was waiting for the answer. The new hybrid had his head up high as he was with his parents and his parents wanted him to show manners.
