Rowan waved away his apology, "No need to be sorry - want to join us?" She wouldn't lie and say that she didn't want him to stay. Alvaro was such a joy, and the children loved him. Hyll has shyly waved when Alvaro landed, but remained off to the side. She had been slightly participating in the game, but events such as 'catch' and other human activities were both foreign and odd to her. Hyll didn't quite see the point, but it was nice to see the others smile, and when the ball strayed her way, she'd toss it back.

Neo had given Alvaro a small hug but quickly retreated so he wouldn't interrupt whatever his mother was saying. Nakia jumped around, waiting for Alvaro's reply which she assumed would be yes. "Oh, of course, if you all would have me that is." Nakia nodded his head and Neo quickly followed. "Well if that's the case then sure." He smiled, his wings automatically retracting.

Rowan tossed the ball to Alvaro, "How's your throwing arm?" Rowan was a very athletic person - years of knight training helped hone her skills and coordination. She used to be a bumbling buffoon, Rowan remembered with a grin, always bumping into someone or dropping something in the palace.

Alvaro chuckled as he caught the ball with ease. "Rowan, I have lived for 243 years. My throwing arm is perfectly capable." Turns out, it wasn't. Alvaro tossed the ball towards Nakia who had to leap into the air in order to catch it. The little shifter giggled softly and Neo tried to hide his smile.

Rowan grinned, but didn't laugh, "Wait, you're over 200 years old? Wow... I didn't know." She mindlessly continued the game, the gears turning in her head. Rowan couldn't imagine living that long - it must be strange.

Alvaro shrugged, he knew he hadn't said much about his past to Rowan. Mostly because half the time it was to hard to talk about and the other half of the time Alvaro couldn't actually remember some of it. He believed he had told Rowan that part, faeries' memories were perfect but trauma tended to be cut out. Much like normal mortals. If Alvaro chose to, he could let it all back in, but he didn't want to. The big gaps in his memory would stay there until he willed them to return. Alvaro happily continued the game, it was such a normal thing to do. Something he hadn't done in a very long time. It was a very satisfying feeling.

Rowan felt so... normal. It was an odd feeling, that filled up her chest with a light happiness. Even with all of the new magic and immortality and children, there could still be normal. It was a new form of normal, but a good one.

The children had calmed down and Neo had gone inside to make some food. He was the unofficial assigned cook of the family, as he did a better job than Rowan did at cooking. It would take an hour for the stew to really get going so Nakia had curled up on the couch to take a nap. Alvaro was staying for dinner, but first he wanted to show Rowan something. The sunset was beautiful this time of year and it was easy to see in the higher trees. Plus he wanted to have a conversation with Rowan. "Hey Rowan, do you have a second? I want to show you something." Alvaro smiled brilliantly at Rowan, as he always did.

Rowan had been smoothing down Hyll's hair, from where it had gotten ruffled, and turned to Alvaro with a smile, "Sure! As long as we get home in time for dinner." She patted Hyll's head, and the nymph trotted off, probably to water her tree.

Alvaro smiled softly and extended his hand to Rowan. "I have to fly you there, if that's okay of course, and yes, we'll be back in time for dinner." Alvaro had that mischievous little grin on his face, like he was about to do something but you didn't know if it was a good or bad thing.
