Amos Fidel Karagiannis | Demi-Boy | 30 | Demisexual Panromantic | Ambi | Caste Exempt | 3rd Command | 5ft Aura/Memory Manipulation-Freezeframe/Mindful Protection | Mentions: Promachus Amos examined the pages of the file as Promachus flipped through, silently committing every piece of information to memory. None of these characters seemed too... worrisome. At least, not at first glance. “Any notable first thoughts?” Mos nodded slightly, pointing at one of the pictures without actually touching the page, not wanting to disturb the perfectly straight pages. "Lysander I've seen before, briefly. It's interesting that he's a suspect. He works for the police force, so he more than likely understands how things are enforced." Amos dropped his hand again, resting it on his lap as they continued. "It's also interesting that both the Kreed's and Saif moved here so recently, plus the fact that the Kreed's are both defects. I don't think any of them are overly worrisome considering power, but if they were all working together, I can see how they could do a considerable amount of damage, plus, defects have reason to cause a bit of chaos here and there. I assume you've come to the same conclusion as I about Lysander and William being the most worrisome?"
They raised an eyebrow slightly. It was very likely that Promachus already knew everything that Amos was bringing up, he was just as good at his work as Amos was, after all, but it never hurt to voice your thoughts when it came to things like this. This way they could stay on the same page and helped keep thoughts sorted. Sol Loyal Clie | Genderfluid | 33 | Demi-Androsexual Demiromantic | Ambi | Thodian | Chief Financial | 10ft Aura/Astral Projection | Mentions: Beste Sol tried to watch their breathing as they walked, keeping a swift pace. His phone buzzed in their hand and he quickly read over Beste's text, not slowing as he did so. ‘You alright, Sunshine? Feeling sick or did something happen? If you need to go see a doctor ‘cause you’re sick then I can do the groceries still. You better be taking care of yourself >:1 I care ‘bout you. You’re my Sol belief in humanity <3 But seriously, you alright?’ He gritted their teeth slightly, biting back emotion. Still walking quickly, they typed out the best reply he could manage at the moment, which, honestly, was hardly convincing. 'I'm fine... Something came up is all, I'm not sick. I can get the groceries. Thanks, sorry <3' Well, the heart was something, but Sol was still faintly aware that it wouldn't fool Beste. She knew them too well. Still, they couldn't even be bothered to try typing anything more at the moment. A buzzing in his head had started up and the only thing they were worried about right now was getting the necessary items from the store before he completely shut down. Pushing their way into the grocery store near his house, Sol blindly made their way to the pet section and grabbed a bag of Rosewater's normal food and a bag of cat treats, also snatching a loaf of bread off a shelf he passed before heading to the front. The cashier gave them a concerned glance but said nothing as he paid and basically ran out the door, only stopping to dig their keys out of his pocket and open the door before dropping the grocery bag, slamming the door shut, and sliding down against it as the tears finally flooded their cheeks. The buzzing in Sol's head shifted, becoming a much worse, much louder mix of multiple voices, most whispers, some loud, all familiar, and all cursing Sol for everything they'd done. All of the horrible shit that he'd done. Chery had a right to be scared of them, after everything that had happened it just make sense, who wouldn't be scared of them? Anyone that knew what he'd done would be scared of him! Everyone had a right to fear them, to hate him, to- Something soft brushed against the back of Sol's hand as they covered their face, and, moments later, he felt a familiar weight climb into their lap and up against his chest as a gentle purring redirected his attention. Through blurred vision, Sol could see Rosewater blinking up at him with soft amber eyes, purring as she pressed her side up against their chest. Without really thinking, Sol picked the cat up and buried their face into the soft fur, grounding himself. After what must have been a few minutes, they started to calm and became once again aware of the burning sensation in his hands. It hurt a lot. Grimacing, Sol carefully placed Rosewater down, murmuring a soft thank you, and stood shakily, wincing as he grabbed the grocery bag and their phone from the floor and carried them to the kitchen. Rosewater followed, tail in the air as she watch Sol carefully, evidently still concerned. Sol smiled down at her weakly and opened the bag of treats, offering one that she took delicately. "Shit." They hissed, leaning on the counter and unlocking his phone again, still open to Beste's text. "Shit, now she's worried. I've already fucked it up." Groaning, they put the phone down again and covered his face with their burning hands. It was too late to go back now, they only hoped they hadn't worried Beste so much that he felt the need to actually check-in. That would be bad. That would be really bad. They looked like shit, they felt like shit, and they could barely stand, drained from the hallucinations and conflict. And what if Beste was doing something important right now and Sol was distracting them? And then, she'd be worried before figuring out that Sol was just being dramatic. Then he'd be mad and they'd leave. Of course, they would leave, and maybe it would be better if she did. Ash Cadman | AMAB Nonbinary | 31 | Demisexual Panromantic | Ambi/Mono | Thodian | Chief Security | 3ft Aura/Boomerang | Mentions: Beste As the morning continued, people came and went, most in groups of three or four, and a few alone. Ash served them, glancing over at Beste and the group every once in a while, very aware of August's eyes watching them through an easy grin at the customers. It took about ten minutes for Auggie's attention to be redirected when a small group of three approached the bar and struck up a conversation with him. August fell into the interaction with ease, laughing along with the customer's words. Ash recognized one of them, a taller man with a skinny frame and sharp blue eyes, he was a regular at the bar, and one of August's close friends. Another customer entered, and Ash took her order, giving it to August, who made the drink with only a glance in their direction. Ash gave the drink to the customer and nervously scribbled another note, It looked like things were going well with Beste's group, so they offered a very slight nod to them all as they passed, letting the not drop on the table rather than in Beste's lap, though they were still careful to make sure it fell face-down. 'August is suspicious of me communicating with you. If you need me for anything, shoot a message or have one of the others call me over and order something, otherwise, I'll avoid your table from now on.' They quickly moved on, letting out a soft sigh of relief at the fact that August hadn't looked up from his conversation. They were lucky they managed that, and they didn't plan on risking anything more. August was suspicious for different reasons than going against the government, but any suspicion at all could put the group in danger, and that was the last thing they needed. Kostas Osborne | Male | 27 | Asexual Panromantic | Ambi | Academic Fector | Soon Chief Research/Info | Truth Finder/Understanding Imagery | Mentions: Irfam “Sounds good to me, Kos! Eh. Alarms are just cheap ways to get out of danger instead of experiencing… Literally anything in life. What’s life without some risks, right? If you avoid them all the time then you won’t get anywhere. But, anyways, fine. I’ll figure out some kind of way to do it. You bet I do! Mine are the best too. Duh. My explosions have got to be the absolute bomb! I do usually give you warnings though! Sure, they’re more like same-day ‘Hey Kos, I’m testing an explosive’ or ‘Guess what we’re working with today- That’s right! Reactive materials!’ But those totally still count! You just don’t appreciate surprises. Like your last birthday! Sure, the cleaning up sucked and the fire department had to get involved and technically it didn’t even work the way it was supposed to… Still though.” Kostas allowed a smile to cross his face at Irfam's words, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "Risks are necessary, yes, but you don't have to be too reckless." He replied, tilting his head ever so slightly. "And I do appreciate the warnings, though it may be more beneficial if they come sooner. And, yes, I remember my last birthday, for the record, I still appreciate the present, even if it was rather explosive." Kos allowed the pun to slip out. He may be far less expressive than others, and feel less emotion, but he still had an appreciation for clever responses and word association games. "Now, what was that formula you figured out? I'm ready to get started if you are."

Promachus Gabriel Valiant | Male | 28 | Demi-Sapiosexual | Ambi | Enforcer Fector | 2nd Command | 3ft Aura/Strategize/Alter Gravity | Mentions; Amos -- Promachus watched as Amos pointed to the picture of Lysander, thankful that they weren’t actually messing up the straight, crisp pages. As long as possible, he didn’t want to ruin them. He’d been known to ask for new copies if a page got ruined before he could laminate it, after all. -- “Lysander I’ve seen before, briefly. It’s interesting that he’s a suspect. He works for the police force, so he more than likely understands how things are enforced. It’s also interesting that both the Kreed’s and Saif moved here so recently, plus the fact that the Kreed’s are both defects. I assume you’ve come to the same conclusion as I about Lysander and William being the most worrisome?” -- Promachus took the words in, considering them before responding. “Lysander, William, and the Felinus Kreed. Acacia is a close one too though, due to the scar on her forehead. I’ve dealt with cases with similar ones. People that have admitted to being nonbelievers but are seen as either too useful, powerful, or ‘salvageable’ to kill are usually scarred like that. Other than that, people whose family member is found out to be a nonbeliever and were killed are also marked with that.” -- He paused, looking at Lysander and William again. “As for those two, Lysander and William, they’re the most obvious ones, yes. Lysander would have intel as a police officer and he’s quite possibly survived plenty of situations that make him more dangerous. Plus, his abilities are rather vague. When it comes to William, it is solely based on his abilities. Which are also a bit vague. Teleportation is powerful, depending on what he’s capable of with it. Can he teleport himself only, is he only capable of teleporting items, can he teleport other people or only him if it is for people, or can he do all three, how many people or items is he capable of teleporting at a time? Just a few questions that would be important factors on how dangerous he could potentially be. As for the Kreed that I mentioned, having enhanced senses is immediately notable, though the ‘Grace’ ability is rather vague. As for why both Kreeds are defects, it’s because twins are never separated within the caste system, as it can harm the aura, so whichever twin would be lower in caste is where they both end up. The government believes it’s better for a possible Fector to be ‘wasting away’ as a Defective rather than have a possible Defective be ‘taking up precious space’ meant for a Fector.” -- He paused, staring at the page for a moment before his eyes narrowed in thought. “We also need to be wary of Marcell. The fact the tattoo on his forehead was hidden isn’t a good sign. Usually, that only happens when the ‘tattoo’ is actually connected to the ability and the government is trying to stifle it as much as possible because the ability hadn’t been that strong and the ‘tattoo’ hadn’t developed when the caste was assigned, otherwise the caste would be different. And most likely higher. So those with hidden ‘tattoos’ are also usually prohibited from having the ‘tattoo’ visual out in public as well. Though, we’d have to see the tattoo to know for sure, as all of the ‘tattoos’ tend to be similar across the board.” *~*~*~* Beste Kusan Wiam | AMAB Pangenderflux | 26 | Pansexual | Ambi | Traveler Gration | Chief Communications | 10ft Aura/Message/Sound Manipulation | Mentions; Ash, Sol -- Felinus shrugged, “Yeah. Sammy acts like a completely different person when he’s sick.” -- Beste nodded, “Yeah, hopefully it’s just that. If it is then I’ve gotta get going so I can get the groceries for them instead of letting them get it. Don’t want him to get even sicker because they aren’t taking care of himself.” -- Amaryllis smirked, “That’s adorable. When are you asking this one out?” -- Beste chuckled lightly, “Think they’re a bit preoccupied at the moment. I’m watching for my time though, no doubt.” -- Sedric grinned, “Don’t wait too long and miss it!” -- Beste grinned right back, “Man, come on, as if! No way would I ever allow that to happen.” As she spoke, his phone went off again. Picking it up, they looked at the message Sol had sent, mostly expecting the grocery list. The message was not a grocery list though. -- ‘I’m fine… Something came up is all, I’m not sick. I can get the groceries. Thanks, sorry <3’ -- That was… A bit better? Still bad though. Plus, if Sol wasn’t sick then something had happened. And the apology was like, completely out of nowhere! And the ellipses? No one put that after saying their fine unless they weren’t fine. But maybe Sol needed space and that was why the response was off? Usually Sol liked having people around, as far as Beste could tell… -- “Well. They aren’t sick? But something is totally going on. I might need to leave. Or they might need space. Ugh.” Beste huffed, setting her phone down again. He’d answer later, once they knew what she was going to do. -- Sedric rolled their eyes, “Whenever that’s happening, I like to think it’s best to just go anyways. What’s the worst that could happen? You get told that they need space right now?” -- Zaley shrugged, “Yeah, or they might let you stay despite needing space and it ends up dragging it all out.” -- Beste hummed in thought, and then paused as he felt Ash’s aura reappear. And as they passed their table, a note fell onto the table. It was facing down, at least. The group looked at the note and then at her. “Ash is part of my group.” He explained quickly, and then pulled the note over to look at it under the table again as the table took in that information. -- ‘August is suspicious of me communicating with you. If you need me for anything, shoot a message or have one of the others call me over and order something, otherwise, I’ll avoid your table from now on.’ -- Looking back at the group, they crumpled the note in her hand and put it into his pocket. They had a reason to leave other than just Sol now, the last thing Beste wanted to do was make the group gain too much attention right now. She grabbed his phone and pocketed it too, setting down enough cash to pay for their drink. “Well, I should probably get going now. It was good meeting all of you.” -- A raised eyebrow from Zaley but the group nodded, and Felinus spoke, “Good meeting you too, Beste.” -- She nodded, standing up, giving the group a wave and then making his way to the door. Walking out was easy enough, closing the door was easy too. Deciding whether or not to message Sol was harder. -- So they didn’t, she just walked to a nearby grocery store and went inside. Sol had never sent a message about what stuff they needed, but knowing him? Even if they’d already gone to the grocery store it was likely that he’d forgotten stuff. Plus, ice cream helped everyone who just had something happen so… Beste made sure to grab a few cartons of cookie dough ice cream. -- Other than the ice cream though, he also grabbed some spaghetti noodle boxes, strawberries, blueberries, rice, potatoes, green beans, and some chicken breasts. With his assortment of groceries picked out, they also grabbed a frozen pizza and four different drinks. A premade chamomile tea, a premade mint tea, a premade caramel frappuccino, and a good old sprite soda bottle. -- After having checked out and paid, she began the rather short walk to Sol’s house. Setting down one handful of the bags, he checked the knob to see if it was unlocked or not. Usually, when Sol knew they would be coming over later, he kept it unlocked for her. Luckily, it was unlocked. So he pushed it open, picked back up the handful of groceries they had sat down, and stepped inside. -- Putting a grin on her face was easier than he’d like to admit, but a good smile almost always helped people feel better. So they kept the smile up easily, closing the door behind her with his foot. Then, they made her way down towards the kitchen so that he could set down the bags. -- “Guess who brought ice cream!!” Their smile was wide as she stepped into the kitchen, having felt pretty certain that Sol wasn’t in there until he saw them, leaning on the counter and looking like he’d had a really bad day. -- Without another word, Beste made their way to the counter, setting down all the bags before looking to Sol, at the burnt hands covering his head. “You want to talk about what happened? Or just watch a movie after I put all this away? Or we could do something else? Of course, the ice cream is involved no matter what as long as you want it.” *~*~*~* Irfam Oryam Ellery | AMAB Demi-Boy | 29 | Apothi-Apresexual | Ambi | Caste Exempt | Soon Chief STEM | Vary Aura/Power Blueprint/Unexpected Success/Fire Walls | Mentions; Kostas -- The smile they got from Kostas was enough to make them feel pretty accomplished, in all honesty. A small little reminder that, yeah, some people did like their company. They smiled under their mask too, listening to the small chuckle Kos gave out. -- “Risks are necessary, yes, but you don’t have to be too reckless.” -- He just shrugged in response. Frankly, he could argue all day over whether or not being reckless was better than being overly careful… But he didn’t really care that much. It was just a fun topic to go surface level about. Anything more and it ended up turning into a debate of personal values where no one was happy by the end of it. Which wasn’t really his goal. -- “And I do appreciate the warnings, though it may be more beneficial if they come sooner. And, yes, I remember my last birthday, for the record, I still appreciate the present, even if it was rather explosive.” -- Irfam sighed, “1, if I gave you more warning then they wouldn’t be nearly as fun. 2, sometimes I don’t even know we’ll be using them until like, an hour beforehand, so… Yeah.” They grinned at Kostas’s pun from under their mask, barely holding back a snickering cackle, “I’m glad. You did get a free headline in the paper because of it. ‘Resident Lunatic Ellery & Scientist Osborne Destroy Lab For A Birthday’.” At that, they did snicker a bit, the whole thing had honestly been hilarious. “Remember that part?” -- He definitely did. He hadn’t actually read the paper, just the headline. And that had been an accident. He’d just been getting stuff to restock the lab after the part that had actually been destroyed was rebuilt and had seen the paper from the week before in a window. He’d only seen the headline. The rest of the errand running had been terrible, he’d been overly aware of every glance someone gave him. But that always happened after an explosion, for a month everyone would be staring at him whenever he walked into a room or passed by them or was otherwise just in view of anyone. He was the resident idiot, the resident lunatic, that everyone avoided after he proved it again. Even if he hadn’t caused an explosion recently, people stared. He was caste exempt, completely insane, and just hideous to look at. And that made people want to look more for some reason. -- “Now, what was that formula you figured out? I’m ready to get started if you are.” -- His eyes snapped to Kostas, and he grinned. “You bet! It should be out in the lab somewhere, not actually completely sure where I put it though, haha.”

Perhaps I should have started with that, my apologies. I mean, should we approach the supposed "weakest" first, or the supposed "strongest"?" He placed air quotes around the words weakest and strongest, knowing very well that someone could look or sound weak and have the ability to defeat an army, or vice versa. Sol Loyal Clie | Genderfluid | 33 | Demi-Androsexual Demiromantic | Ambi | Thodian | Chief Financial | 10ft Aura/Astral Projection | Mentions: Beste Sol heard the door open, flinching slightly. They knew who it was before Beste even spoke. There was only one person who would enter their house unannounced in the middle of the day. “Guess who brought ice cream!!” Sol didn't look up, sucking in a breath in an attempt to not immediately completely break down. They waited until Beste approached and spoke again before finally looking up, half-aware of the fact that Rosewater was rubbing affectionately against his friend's leg in greeting. Beste was over enough that the cat had formed an attachment to her as well as Sol, evidently adopting them as her second parent. Not that Sol ever minded, the two of them were adorable. “You want to talk about what happened? Or just watch a movie after I put all this away? Or we could do something else? Of course, the ice cream is involved no matter what as long as you want it.” Sol shrugged, avoiding eye contact. "Sorry, I... I didn't drag you away from anything important, did I? I didn't mean to cause any trouble." His voice was quiet and slightly shaky, anxiety evident in their tone. Rosewater was evidently dissatisfied with this, letting out a high-pitched meow and placing her two front paws on Sol's leg, blinking up at him in what they could have sworn was disapproval. Sol stared back for a moment before sighing and picking up the cat again, placing her gently on the counter where she curled her tail over her paws and watched the two people in front of her. After a moment of hesitation, Sol silently cursed himself and their desperate need for physical contact before taking a small step forward and wrapping their arms around Beste's neck, allowing his head to slump against her shoulder as they took in the familiar scent and focused on the warmth radiating from the other. It only took a few seconds for them to relax a little, the grounding presence of his friend offering a comfort that they couldn't find anywhere else. "I fucked up." They whimpered softly, squeezing his eyes shut as they continued to cling to Beste. "I fucked up, and I don't know what to do. I don't want to be alone again." Sol's voice cracked at the last few words and they started shaking again, panic at the idea rising in his chest. The only reason Beste hadn't left was because they didn't know yet. He'd leave as soon as she found out. They all did. That, or they'd send him back there. The idea sent another wave of panic through Sol's system, and he resisted the urge to physically cry out, managing another broken sob instead. "Please... I'm so sorry..." They relaxed a bit. It was honestly better if she wasn't here, then Ash didn't have to panic about trying to sneakily communicate with him while also worrying about having to talk enough to take orders and get their other work down. Really it was best if the group and their work stayed completely separate. It was easier that way. About a minute after Beste left, Ash fell back into their usual rhythm, forcing out practiced words to customers and focusing on not stuttering. August was still preoccupied, so once Ash was sure that all the customers were taken care of, they managed to slip outside for a short moment, taking in a deep breath to shake off the lingering anxiety. Of course, they only stood there for about a minute before re-entering the bar and busying themself with work that wasn't really necessary but was a way to fill time. Just a couple hours more, they told themself, just a little longer, and then they could go home for an hour or so before heading to the meeting. If they were lucky, they wouldn't have to say another word after work. "I suppose that is fair. And yes, I remember that headline very well. I do believe we were both famous for a grand total of a few weeks. For an explosion. Honestly, that's just about how I expected to earn acknowledgment from the community, as a scientist." He raised a rather unsurprised eyebrow at the fact that Irfam hadn't kept up with the formal. He was more than used to it at this point, and it didn't actually bother him that much. Well, usually, sometimes the disorganization did trigger a rather unwanted feeling of what Kostas perceived to be worry or perhaps even panic, but a couple of hours of cleaning could usually take care of it. "Well, do you happen to remember what you wrote this formula down on? That may be helpful." His tone was light and slightly amused, but not remotely upset or condescending. He knew well that Irfam had little to no control over their memory, and he never intended to use it against him or make fun of them for it. The idea that someone would even think of doing so made his skin crawl, and a hint of anger tugged at the back of Kostas's mind, though he shoved it away and focused on his friend instead, waiting for an answer.

After all, any time that we spend on someone is time that the rest can use. He only reached down to Rosewater slightly in order to pet a hello to the kitten. But then they were looking right at Sol again, giving them her full attention. -- “Sorry, I... I didn't drag you away from anything important, did I? I didn't mean to cause any trouble.” -- That was… Concerning, and slightly confusing to hear. He tilted their head, about to speak. About to assure him that she hadn’t been pulled away from something more important than this. Before he could though, a high-pitched meow sounded out and they glanced down at Rosewater, thanking the cat silently and then watching as Sol picked her up and set her down on the counter. -- And then she was being hugged. Immediately, Beste wrapped his own arms around Sol. One arm around the back, the other securing their head where he’d decided to rest it against their shoulder. -- “I fucked up. I fucked up, and I don't know what to do. I don't want to be alone again.” -- Her eyebrows furrowed, glancing at Sol as they clung tightly to him. They squeezed Sol close, feeling the panic and anxiety rising in her friend’s aura. The sound of a broken sob had him making sure their grip was in place. She could do this, he could. Totally. Couldn’t be that hard, right? They were good at emotions and communication, she could do this. -- “Please... I'm so sorry…” -- He gave Sol another squeeze, and finally managed to force their voice to work. “I won’t leave Sol, I promise. I never will. You didn’t pull me away from anything important, nothing’s more important than this. Than you. Okay? You’ve got nothing to apologize to me for. I’m not going to leave, you don’t have to be alone. Should’ve known that you’d piggyback off of my failures. Pretty late to the party though, they’ve been talking about me for like a decade at this point.” -- In all fairness, it wasn’t like they didn’t give everyone adequate reason to mock them. They’d been in enough explosions to prove that. Not to even mention that they were caste exempt. Irfam had been getting headlines since they started, everyone knew them at this point. Everyone had loud opinions on them at this point. Whether that be with the majority where negatives were everywhere and their capabilities were questioned. Or the minority that brought up all that they had been able to do, brought up that they were one of the top in their field. Frankly, Irfam didn’t know which side they agreed with. -- “Well, do you happen to remember what you wrote this formula down on? That may be helpful.” -- Irfam hummed in thought, glancing over his shoulder to the lab before looking back at Kostas. “Pretty sure I put it on one of the pads so that it would be easier to create a simulation to test it and we’d be able to watch in holographic form.”

After all, any time that we spend on someone is time that the rest can use. As for if they are all working together, I’d recommend looking through the detailed files on each of them before we decide on a strategy. We need to consider what to do if one of our members ends up meeting them. Usually, I have to suspect anyone that the suspects are involved with, even minimally. Their workplaces will all have to be put under investigation, and depending on how long the Kreeds and Saif have had ties connecting them to this then we’ll even have to go into Arastok.” Amos nodded, pursing his lips as they considered everything. One of these people meeting someone from their group wasn't a great thought. That would mean he and Promachus would somehow have to find a way to make sure whoever the group member had met fell completely under the radar. And if they were all working together, then Amos and Promachus would have to figure out how to get all ten under the radar, and considering the fact that they'd all been noticed by the government, that wouldn't be easy. "Right. Well, the workplaces should be easy enough, traveling should be easy enough too, just time-consuming. If they met one of our group members... That'd be harder. It's possible that I could use my power to manipulate how the members are viewed, but that'd take a while too, and it'd be extremely draining on my end. Plus, we'd have to find everyone who's concerned or even knows about the case. In other words, that's probably the last-case scenario." Amos paused, chewing his cheek thoughtfully. "We could, potentially, manipulate the case itself, somehow. If they meet with our group, then they should be quiet for a while. We need to wait for the proper time, after all. So then, we just need to figure out a way to make them believe the leads are faulty or something." They shrugged, looking at Promachus questioningly. He was well aware that these ideas weren't the best, which, what could they do, honestly, it was all on the spot. He was much better at making up lies or charming words on the spot than full ideas. It's why they were so good at what he did, everyone loved them for his charm and gentle acceptance of others, they could talk their way into and out of almost every situation. Yet, when it came to planning, Amos definitely did better when they had an extended period of time. Luckily, he had Promachus, who they trusted much more than himself in these situations. They didn't know what he'd done. She didn't know how much of a monster Sol was. He didn't know, so how could Sol possibly believe them? Chery had promised that, she'd promised Sol that she'd always be there for him, and yet, when he'd told her... She'd looked so scared... So utterly terrified. She said it was fine. She said she wasn't scared of them, but it wasn't true. They'd seen it today, the fear in her eyes when she recognized that Sol was seeing and hearing things again. She was still terrified of him, and because of that, she wasn't there for them in the way she had been once before. And Eclipse. Oh god, Eclipse. Sol and his brother had been so close before that happened, but then he was the one who sent them there. And yet, Beste was here now. They didn't have to be, but he was. She'd shown up despite whatever he'd been doing before, and Sol hadn't failed to notice the groceries that he'd bought even though they said she didn't have to, so maybe... "Thank you..." For fucks sake, Beste had shown up when they didn't need to and all Sol could do was utter a pitiful 'thank you.' He really did suck. They clung to Beste for a moment longer before carefully drawing back and wiping his eyes, fighting back the need to flinch as their burnt fingers stretch. " So, um..." Sol struggled to find correct wording before managing a weak smile and actually looking up at his friend. "Movie, cuddles, and ice cream?" The idea might sound strange to most friends, but it wasn't really that uncommon for Beste and Sol, mostly because Sol was extremely clingy and would do basically anything to be close to those he cared about. Glancing at the file again, he narrowed his eyes. “Making them think the leads are faulty will work better. At least for a while. The best idea I have at this point is that we start with making them seem like dead ends and then begin to erase the record altogether. Otherwise, this will stay on their records forever and anytime something comes up, they’ll be the number one suspects.” -- He paused, eyes scanning over the information, looking for anything he may have missed. “Again, I recommend getting the detailed files on each suspect and location mentioned before we truly plan anything.” -- As much as he prided his strategizing ability, he recognized the cons of it too. He could only use the information he already had, he couldn’t use every factor- Known and unknown. And while, yes, usually it was fine to not have everything on a case before using his ability… This one would be a bit harder, a bit more tricky. That was obvious enough just by the fact that he had been paired to work with Amos. -- He looked back up at them, “I do recommend that we start with Acacia relatively close to first. The fact that this isn’t the first time in this sort of situation definitely will not help her should this case be made public. Those hands do not look like running water alone will be helping. So, like, if you have burn cream and- I don’t know, like… Gauze? Even if it wasn't accurate, Beste definitely deserved an apology, and Sol had every reason to apologize, but Beste had said not to apologize, so... They looked away again, reaching out to Rosewater again, smiling slightly as the cat meowed softly and gently nudged the back of Sol's hand, blinking happily. Sol sucked in a breath and looked up again, maintaining the slight smile. "So... Disney?"

It may give us enough information to decide who needs to be dealt with first so that we know who to focus on when we have the individual files.” -- Flipping the file back to the page with the large and bolded ‘DEBRIEF’ on it was easy. An action done so many times that it was practically second nature. As much as he hated the job due to moral reasons, he at least found some sort of comfort in the routine of it. Like a weight being taken off, knowing that each day was going to be more or less the same. Everything in place, in order, and being simply perfect… If one didn’t pay attention to what the job was actually for, that is. But he didn’t, because that would be rude or might be read wrong and end up putting their friend back a step. Which was not what she wanted, so he didn’t roll their eyes. Instead, she nodded and started on his way towards the bathroom after a quick once over of Sol’s aura, a glance to Rosewater because that cat was both adorable and a huge help. -- “So… Disney?” -- They paused in her tracks towards the bathroom and hummed in thought, already knowing his answer with a grin. “You know it, Sol. I’ll go grab the cream and gauze real quick, and we’ll meet in the living room to watch the movie.” -- With that said, Beste continued on their way to the bathroom. Opening the door and stepping inside, she opened the cabinet under the sink, crouching for better access. The others be damned, he was definitely a good friend. They were the ones missing out by not being their friend. Obviously. She knew how to have fun, he knew how to help people when it came to emotions, they knew how to talk and communicate with people. How could she not be just the perfect friend? -- The tiny pep talk was nice, honestly. A good way to reinstate his worth. They were glad that she’d learned it. He was glad that they were here to have learned it… She took a deep breath, grabbing the burn cream and gauze from the cabinet under the bathroom sink. And stood, looking into the mirror above the sink. Flashing a grin, he lightly snickered to themself. Looking back down at the cream and gauze in her hands… He should probably get back to Sol.

His eyes scanned the information, taking it all in as he usually did. Easily and effectively. They were so good at his job for this exact reason, they never missed anything. Every detail was sucked up and stored away for later use, that's just how their brain worked, and it was further enhanced by his power. Once they finished reading, Amos looked up at Promachus again, smiling slightly. "Well, let's get started on those personal files, if you've got nothing else to add?" Rosewater jumped off the counter and followed them, hopping onto the couch and watching Sol as he grabbed the remote and scrolled through the potential movie options before landing on "The Princess and the Frog." Tiana was one of their favorites. A strong woman who was independent while also remaining close to family and friends and remaining compassionate. Plus, she was a baker! What's not to love? Having decided, Sol took a seat on the couch to wait for Beste, carefully running his hands through Rosewater's fur. The cat started purring softly, her tiny body resinating with the sound, and Sol smiled quietly. He really was lucky, they had a friend that had just proved, yet again, that she would drop everything to come to him when needed and a cat that seemed to understand them better than most people did. Plus Amos and the rest of the group. He really didn't deserve it, not after everything. The thought made him flinch and they were quick to take a deep breath and focus on the screen, reading the summary of the movie despite having seen it multiple times over. Something moved in their peripheral vision, but Sol stubbornly refused to look over, running his hand over Rosewater's fur and feeling the vibrations of her purrs in order to stay grounded. Why the fuck were they so off today? It hadn't been this bad this early in a while. Which... probably meant he was finally coming to their limit of not sleeping. Exhaustion usually made things worse. Which definitely wasn't good. Sleeping was bad. Very bad. It did nothing but cause pain. Clenching his jaw Sol shoved the thoughts aside. He was fine. Everything was fine. They just had to get out of his head and wait for Beste and everything would be fine. Amory Weber | Male | 26 | Pansexual | Ambi | Enforcer Fector | Chief Operations | 7ft Aura/Alarm | Mentions: None Amory was flipping through another file at his desk, eyes skimming the words half-heartedly. The day had been quiet so far, leaving the young officer with little to do. His phone rang and Amory furrowed his brow, picking it up off his desk and hitting 'accept.' "Ivy? What do you want?" He meant for the words to sound forceful, maybe even harsh, but they only sounded tired and hurt. "Mory!" Ivy's voice broke on the other end and Amory tensed, worry rising in his chest. "What happened? What's wrong? Are you hurt?" The words came out quickly, rushed and panicked in contrast to his usual angry and slower speech. They may not be together anymore, but Mory still cared about Ivy deeply, even if he would never admit it, and the idea of her being injured was frightening. "I'm sorry, I didn't know who else to call! I-I don't know what to do!" Amory clinched his jaw, waiting. There was no use pushing Ivy, she'd get to her point in her own time. She always did. "He hurt me, Mory, he did!" Red-hot rage boiled up inside him and his hand clenched tighter around his phone. If that bastard had laid one hand on her... "He broke up with me!" Amory faltered, the anger fading to confusion. "What?" "He broke up with me!" Ivy sobbed. She sounded pathetic, her voice shaking as she rambled. Anger rose in Amory's chest again, but it was redirected this time. The audacity of the woman! "I've got nowhere to go, Jazmin won't let me stay with her this time! Please, Mory, please can I stay with you? I-I need you right now!" "No." The single word was all the officer could manage at this point. His throat was tight and his mind clouded with anger. Of course, she would come running back now, after everything she'd done, she still expected a place to stay and a comforting hand on her back from Amory. As if! "Mory, please-" "Don't call me that, Ivy. Get a hotel." "I-I can't, I don't have t-the money!" Ivy whimpered. Amory could picture her now, shaking with red-rimmed eyes and dyed hair plastered to her face. "Please, y-you're my last chance. I-I need you!" Amory closed his eyes, rubbing his temple with his free hand. There were so many things he wanted to say right now. So many accusations and rebuttals. Something, anything to make her understand that he'd needed her too, and she hadn't been there. She never fucking was. Instead... "I'll send you some money for a hotel then, and food. $200 should get you through a few days at least." He sucked in a breath, hating himself even as he spoke. She didn't deserve this. He knew she didn't. She was just using him like she always did, so why couldn't he just turn her away?! It should be easy! "Oh, thank you, Mory, thank you so much! You're my savior, I love you!" Amory flinched. No. She didn't. It was a fucking lie. "Don't call me that." He repeated, glaring at his desk angrily. "And don't spend my money on something stupid like alcohol. Get a job and get yourself on your feet. I won't give you anything else." That was a lie and they both knew it. He'd give her anything and everything, just as he always had. "Got it. I will. Thank you, Mory!" "Don't call me that." He growled, ending the call before opening an app to transfer the promised money to Ivy, leaving the simple message; 'don't be stupid.' Sighing, he put his phone down and put his face in his hands. Why was he so fucking stupid?!

He was just glad their group had stayed under the radar as well as they had. -- “Well, let's get started on those personal files, if you've got nothing else to add?” -- He finished reading the last sentence and looked up to Amos, nodding stiffly. “Nothing of note. We can head over to the area where the personal files are held to get them.” -- He paused, holding the urge to look, to glance, to narrow his eyes in thought. So she went on over and flopped down next to them with a grin. “Got the shit!” -- He looked over at the movie that had been chosen while setting down the gauze and burn cream. ‘The Princess and The Frog’. A classic and one of the best. The songs were all bangers! ‘Dig a Little Deeper’ had to be their favorite song from it though- It was meaningful, funny, upbeat, and had an amazing beat to it. “Good pick, Sol. Do you have a favorite song from it? Oh, and… Should we turn it on while doing the cream and gauze or wait until after your hands are taken care of?” -- As she asked, she opened the burn cream, a small grin kept up to make sure that Sol didn’t think he was upset with them at all. Because they weren’t. She never could be. He’d always be there for him, just the same as Sol would always be there for them. Or at the very least, Rosewater would be there for the both of them. That cat was adorable. She gave the kitty a small scratch behind the ears, keeping his eyes on Sol so as to not miss any answers.
