Cambree
Cambree was licking her flank when a flurry of movement caught her attention just before a huge weight slammed into her chest. Her head hit the ground with a sickening thud, and the wind was knocked out of her lungs. It took a few moments before she could get enough air back into her body. Once her head stopped spinning and her gaze focused, she realized she was staring up into the eyes of a male wolf who had her pinned to the forest floor.
A flash of panic went through her. She had tried so hard to keep from being discovered. Now, she wasn't sure she would even be alive by the end of the day. Her head still pounded from the hit, but she forced the panic aside and tried to keep a clear mind. Panicking wouldn't help her if she wanted to try to get out of this alive.
The male's face was twisted with rage. His jaws were inches from her nose and were set in a fierce snarl. His paws were a heavy weight on her chest, making it harder for her to breathe. A few more moments of silence passed before she realized he had spoken. She didn't want to give too much information away. She hoped that if she appeared non-threatening then he'd let her live.
"I'm just a loner." Her voice shook slightly with fear, but she used it to her advantage. She wanted to appear small and weak...submissive. She knew she couldn't overpower him, but she might could get him to back down enough to either leave her be or enough for her to surprise him.
