His last charge had screamed when first seeing Dakota and had commanded Ekon to never show the huge bear's face in their presence. Truthfully, it had hurt Dakota, after all, who would like being told to go away? Hunting had become a night time only thing for Dakota after the last charge, as to not scare anyone away. Ekon was hurt too by this, the friends were close and not being able to have Dakota's constant form beside him had left him aching and sad.

"No one can tell you to hide away," She murmured, "Since you are my protectors. Do not worry about it."

Dava was pleased by this. She had faith in her friend, and Anasuri did not fail her.

Ekon wasn't supposed to be moving but he was looking around the hall with subtle interest. His eyes had settled in a deep brown with random splats of bright gold. Ekon's head was still supposed to be lowered till Princess Anasuri told him otherwise but the hall was just so interesting. There were big paintings on the walls that really interested him. One had so many colors and shapes that he just couldn't stop looking at it. As an artist himself, he was very interested in all the art the palace had to offer. He'd have to explore later, perhaps when everyone was at dinner. Unless Anasuri told him to go to the dinner. In which case, he would have to go. He also still had to get new canvases and feed the children in town. All of which he would have to find time to do.

Dava, with the go-ahead from Anasuri, shuffled over to Ekon. She gave off a bright bear-grin, and twitched her ears in hello. To Dakota, Dava requested he tell his friend she said hello.

His lavender hand reached out towards Dava. Not petting her just yet but letting her sniff. As immediately touching Dava might be seen as rude or brash. Dakota watched the interaction kindly. His eyes watching Ekon's orbs as they began to switch between dark brown and hazel.

Anasuri was silent through all of this. Dava had never liked her old knight - said he felt off - so perhaps this one wouldn't readily attempt to kill her. That would be a nice change of pace.

Ekon smirked as his friend interested with Dava. Dakota was just a baby in the form of a huge bear. Finally, he walked over to the Princess, his expression light and calm. As close to emotionless he could get. He just didn't want to be so cold to his new charge.

Anasuri pursed her lips together, and turned around, setting a brisk pace. She may be small, but her strides were quick. "So," Anasuri began, "Your chambers connect to mine, but you do have your own bathroom and enough space. If you had any bags, they should have been brought up. We are expected to show up for dinner tonight, so I will need to inform you on what to expect." Her tone was short and clipped, but not mean, more... indifferent... than anything. Although her initial fear was calmed slightly by Dava trusting Ekon, she would not be trusting the new knight any time soon.

Ekon stayed quiet, just taking it all in. His hand nervously messed with his metal bracelets. Although his face didn't show it, he was nervous for this new charge. He was already expected to do better than the last traitor and they had set even higher standards for the talented elf. There were many eyes watching him, to see if he messed this up. And if he did too good, he'd be sent out to the war effort that was forming against the other elves. Which was something Ekon didn't want to do. Every single way this went ended badly for him. And Princess Anasuri obviously didn't trust him. Though, who would after their last guard betrayed them?

"Okay, I was worried about going to dinner...not for any particular reason of course! It is my duty of course to protect you. So if that's where I have to go then I will." Ekon had did an oopsie. He hadn't wanted to go to dinner. He'd wanted to go to town and get stuff and feed the orphans he knew were there. That wasn't going to be possible. And now he had made himself look bad by almost saying these things.

She opened the door and stepped inside, where they were instantly greeted with a herbal smell.
