Shaking his head, he listened to what Alex said. He didn't bother responding to Alex. Letting go of Alex's wrist, he stumbled past him. Balling his hands into fists, still quite angry at everything, he began to walk to the passenger seat. He was done trying to drive. Alex clearly wasn't going to let him. Slowly, he made his way to the other side of the truck. He used the truck for support for almost the whole way, his legs threatening to give out. Opening the door, he got in, not bothering to put his seatbelt on. Looking over at Alex, he kept an angered expression on his face. He was more upset with what Alex's dad had said, but he was taking it out on Alex. As the words his dad said replayed in his head, he balled his fists again. Clenching his jaw, he kept his gaze on Alex despite being slightly upset with him.

Alex nearly let out a breath of relief when Skylar seemed to relent. He let his blue hues follow him as he began to make his way around the truck, heavily leaning on the vehicle. A part of him was aware of the fact that he should at least offer to help him, but he was too pissed and upset to want to do that. He'd come here drunk, had fucked up a night that Alex had been looking forward to, and had potentially upended his entire life because he couldn't keep his mouth shut or his hands to himself. Turning away from him, he climbed into the driver's seat and slipped the keys into the ignition. As he waited for Skylar to get in, he buckled himself in and then, once Sky was in and the door closed, he started the truck. He could feel his gaze on him; he didn't have to look to see that his anger was visible as he pulled out of the driveway and onto the road. If Skylar wanted to be angry, let him. Alex had no intention of trying to make amends, to apologize, or appease him. Not this time.

Sky only got angrier when Alex paid no attention to him. He scoffed as he looked away and out the window. His eyes threatened to close, but he forced himself to stay awake. Just by his body language, he was still fuming. During the entire ride back, he was moving a lot and often gave Alex dirty looks. As Alex pulled into his driveway, Sky turned to look at him. "So you're gonna go home and tell more lies. Keep our relationship a secret some more?" Sky questioned, anger still very apparent in his tone. His brows stayed furrowed, along with his jaw clenched. He then started to get out of the truck, very slowly.

Alex hadn't said anything to Skylar the entirety of the drive back to his place. He didn't trust himself not to say something he wouldn't regret. His own anger was raging within him, a blaze so powerful he was gripping the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles were white. He ignored Skylar's constant moving or the looks he gave him as he drove. And when he finally got back to Sky's place and parked the car, he was relieved to be done with it. He wanted to get home... or actually, he wanted to get away. Get away from Skylar, from home, from his parents, from everything that had transpired. Turning off the engine after parking the car, Alex grabbed the keys and held them out to Skylar. He still didn't look at him, not until he heard his question. His eyes widened slightly, only to narrow. "Is that why you did this? Show up at my house drunk, argue with my dad, and kiss me in front of my family, because you wanted to do what... make sure our relationship could be out in the open?" He snapped. He watched as Skylar moved to get out of the truck, but he made no attempt to follow. "You had no right to try and force me to come out like that." He added.

Sky stopped dead in his tracks, quickly turning around. Once he was seated again, he slammed his door. He really needed to ease up on slamming things. At some point, he was going to break something, but it was better than punching anything. "What the fuck Alex?!" Sky snapped back. "That's not what I did. I don't wanna be your fucking secret anymore, but I didn't force you to come out." Skylar retorted, anger in his voice. He kept his eyes on Alex, refusing to take his eyes off him. His fists balled up again, failing to calm himself. He didn't even try to calm himself.

A part of Alex cringed at the words he'd spoken and at the way they had an impact on Skylar, but his anger overrode it. He didn't shy away from the look Skylar gave him as he turned to look at him, nor did he flinch as the car door slammed closed. "It's not?" He questioned coldly. "Then what the fuck was all that for, then? Trying to tell my dad that I was gay... questioning him on how he'd react... and then kissing me in front of him?" He asked coldly. "If you think you're the only one who doesn't want this... us... to be a secret, then you're wrong." He said, his tone sharp as he looked at him. "But if you think that also gives you the right to do what you want because you're drunk or angry... if you think suddenly it's okay to throw my feelings out the window to get your way, then you can fuck off." He curled his hands into fists and bit at the inside of his cheek hard enough to draw blood.

Sky shook his head but never took his eyes off Alex. "His words got to me okay. I was simply standing up to him. Yeah, that's not a good excuse, blah fucking blah." Skylar replied, getting angrier with every word Alex was speaking. "Yeah, it's not okay, but you keeping us a secret isn't okay either, and I bet that's exactly what you're gonna do when you go home. You're gonna continue to hide who you truly are from them." Sky added. His hands stayed balled up to the point where his nails were drawing blood. He was doing it on purpose. Looking away, he squeezed harder, tears swelling in his eyes. He hated fighting with Alex, but he knew what he did was selfish.

Alex held his tongue, though the temptation to cut Skylar off was strong. Of course, he was going to go back home, try to play it off, convince his parents he wasn't... gay. What other choice did he have? If his father disowned him, which was entirely possible if the truth was revealed, he'd have nothing and no one. His father wouldn't think twice about kicking him out, shunning him like some criminal, and pretending as though he didn't exist. If that were to happen, where would that leave him? He still had two years of high school left, and he wanted to go to college. If he had no home, no family, no financial support, then he could forget about college; hell, he could forget about high school. "What do you want me to say? I'm sorry that my family isn't like yours... that my parents hate people like me. Do you want me to apologize for having to keep our relationship a secret?" He questioned his voice as cold as the gaze he had fixed on Skylar.

The tears threatened to spill from Alex's response because he knew he was right. He was upset at him for keeping them a secret, but he knew that his life would be hell if his parents knew. As the tears slowly fell, he kept digging his nails into his palm. Leaning his head back against the seat, he looked up. "It's just not fair." He gritted through his teeth. Turning to look at Alex, he said, "We can't do anything unless it's in my fucking room!" raising his voice slightly. Finally, he stopped squeezing his hand. Bringing his slightly bloody hand up, he ran it through his hair as his head dipped down towards his lap. Bringing his other hand up, he rubbed his eyes before running his hands through his hair again.

The second that Alex saw the tears in Skylar's eyes, the fire of his rage seemed to lessen. His expression, which had been hard, and his gaze, which had been cold, softened slightly. He kept his eyes on Skylar for a moment longer before he looked away, his blue hues falling on the hands he had balled in his lap. Leaning back in his seat, he bit at his bottom lip slightly and nodded in agreement. It wasn't fair... he knew that. It wasn't fair for him, and it certainly wasn't fair for Skylar. He deserved to have a relationship that allowed him to be out in the open with his partner, free and unashamed. "I know..." He said after a long moment as he forced his gaze back to Skylar. He watched him bring his hand up to run it through his hair twice. "I know... this isn't the kind of relationship you want..." He added softly as he studied him. "I'm sorry..." He was still angry, still hurt by what had transpired, still terrified of having to go back and face the consequences... but he was also genuinely remorseful for forcing his kind of relationship on Skylar, for asking him to remain hidden when he deserved to walk freely and unashamed in the light of day, with a partner who could do that with him.
