Kodiak | F | Head Hunter | Dark Pines | M: Angola, Arya, Akela (dir) Kodiak padded through the forest, enjoying the sounds of the early morning. She was searching for her hunters, when she caught a whiff of Arya's scent. The she-wolf's distinct aroma of summer rain was definitly noticeable in the swamp surrounding them, and as she trotted closer, she spotted Angola and Akela with her as well. There was another scent, but Kodiak put it in the back of her mind. "Akela." She barked sharply. "Why are you distracting my hunters?"

Rameses|M|Warrior|Golden Forest M: Dapple, Saige, Miakoda "I would love to help you, Saige." Rameses rumbled in a soft tone, flattening his ears a little and dipping his head towards her in friendly respect. Rameses listened to his sister's answer, nodding in response. He too could remember being a young pup filled with the strong sense of adventure. She flicked her tail bye as she headed out, expressing that she was preparing a hunt. He watched her go, silently wishing her luck. The dark warrior looked down at his apprentice as he waited for her to decide what she wanted to work on in training today. She decided on offensive attacks, and Rameses flicked his tail with approval. "Alright then," he said, his tone a bit warmer than usual, almost laced with a fatherly undertone. "Offensive attacks it is." He grinned at her enthusiasm, his ears pricking forward. He shifted his gaze to Saige, his tail rising as he prepared to leave. "I'll make a visit this evening if you'd like," he said to the mother. "I promise." He dipped his head at her and shifted his gaze towards the two little pups. "Be good for your mother," he told them cheekily. "Or else you'll feel the wrath of the great warrior Rameses!" He lifted a one big paw and gently knocked Aashvi over into the dirt, lowering his head and playfully nosing the pups belly to tickle him. "We best be going," He said when he was done, lifting his head and turning to look at Dapple. "What do you say we make our way to Golden Circle?" Golden Circle was a decent sized clearing in the forest, encircled by six large oaks. There was plenty of room to run, play, and train. Angola | F | Dark Pines | Hunter | M: Arya, Akela, Kodiak Angola lifted her snout to the air and fell silent at Arya's soft hushing. The younger huntress began following her nose, and Angola swiftly went after her, swiveling her ears. It was the smell of decay, but she could smell that it was deer. Was this what she had been smelling earlier on her own? The only sounds were the nearly silent sound of their paws padding over the ground as the trio moved through the trees. Angola weaved in and out of the shadows, keeping flank. Slight surprise overcame her as Arya led them to the carcass of a deer, left behind to rot. It's head was missing, and the huntress spotted a small wound in its chest, presumably a bullet wound. "What the hell?" Angola whispered, her hackles rising uncomfortably. It was a good find, however, something felt wrong to her in the atmosphere. The smell of two-leggeds was unmistakeably there, even if stale. "I don't like this." She said after a moment. "Something feels wrong." There was a deep tingling in her maw, the feeling of dread beginning to take over her chest. Whether it was intuition, a spiritual leading, or just simply an overreaction, Angola didn't care. She had a bad feeling that this find could be an omen, a dark warning from their ancestors that something was wrong. She was so focused on her thoughts and feelings that she didn't hear the Head Huntress approaching them. Her entire body jolted slightly as Kodiak's bark rang out. Angola turned her face towards the Head Huntress and slightly tucked her tail, feeling a bit ashamed at being startled so easily by her presence. "It's not his fault," Angola jumped in quickly, "It's mine." She forced herself not to look at Arya or Akela in order to help cover the fact she was lying. She didn't want Akela to get scolded, he was innocent, and Arya shouldn't have to be scolded by their lead for simply doing her job. Angola was the one who often went off on her own, it would be believable that she was the one who led them out of camp on a frivolous journey. "I just smelled something funny and wanted a few wolves with me just in case."

Akela | M | Warrior | Dark Pines | M: Kodiak, Arya, Angola Akela would lower his audits at Arya shushing. His heart pounding in his chest. He didn't really like suspense, but, he knew it was a part of hunting. Following the females, he kept himself quiet. Though, as the stentch of decay hit his nostrils, Akela recoiled. "Ew.." He mumbled. The brute didn't exactly want to continue forward, but he did anyway, wanting too make sure the hunters were safe. Finding the decaying deer, Akela's face scrunched. Why was it just left? Did people have no respect for what the deer gave them? Sighing, he'd look at the two hunters before hearing Kodiaks voice. As his eyes widened, he turned too her and went too speak before hearing Angola cut him off. Akela's audits would flick back as he stepped forward, casting a glance at Angola before perking his audits forward. "I'm not gonna let her take the fall for this.. I wanted to come hunting, and Yukon said she didn't need me for anything, so, I figured i'd lend a paw." He stated, hoping Kodiak wouldn't find his statement disrecpectful in anyway. Saige | F | Golden Forest | Nursing Mother | M: Dapple, Rameses, Pups Saige would listen to Rameses' voice. Even though it had nothing but a friendly undertone too it, it still sent shivers down her spine. Though, this little feeling confused her. She hadn't felt it since she first met her late mate. Lowering her audits slightly, she'd let the small sadness show for only a moment before perking up again. Watching as he looked at her pups and told them to behave, she let a small laugh escape her maw. "Thank you, Rameses." She stated softly too him, giving him a soft nose nuzzle to his cheek. Saige would then nudge her pups toward the den, seeing as they both were yawning. Watching as they went into the den, Saige listened to the brutes words before looking over at him right before he said. "I promise." Those words coming from his maw made her heart flutter. They had barely ever talked before today, and she already felt as if she had known him for years. After a moment, she just nodded and spoke up. "Sounds good.. We'll see you then." Saige stated softly too him before making her way back into the root den. As she got into the den and laid down, the pups immediately began to suckle. Saige smiled down at them, ignoring the small pain in her stomach telling her she needed too eat. Though, she knew she'd have too soon or else her milk would dry up. Sighing softly, Saige would lay her head down and wait for her pups to fall asleep..

Kodiak | F | Head Hunter | Dark Pines | M: Angola, Arya, Akela (dir), Felis, Strifle (ind) - Kodiak heaved a big sigh, and cast a scornful look over the young male. She wasn't particularly mad at him, she just liked watching the new recruits squirm. She transferred her glare over to Angola and Arya for a second, then dropped her gaze. - "Akela, Arya, Angola, would you please go find Felis and see if there's any large prey nearby? I have to go check in with Strifle, so I'll be heading back to camp. Stars know where that pup is." She'd given up on finding Felis at this point. - Flexing her muscles, she prepared herself for a long run back to camp, when something caught her attention. The scent of the deer near Angola smelled distinctly of the two-leggeds. Cautiously, she approached and spotted the cause of death. Her nerves shot on high alert, and her head snapped up, all her senses on an adrenaline-fueled rush. - "Let's get out of here." She ordered, backing off, and darting back to camp, not stopping to worry if any of the others were following her. Edited at August 4, 2023 12:14 AM by Everest

¤ Storm ¤ Alpha Male || Golden Forest Pack || M: (Dir) Neryth. (Ind) None. ~ Storm's grin finally ended and just turned back to a normal smile, his sharp teeth now no longer visible as they were covered by his lips. The long time of grinning was hurting his face, so he had to stop. His tail had also now stopped wagging, but not due to it hurting, but just because he wanted to stop wagging his tail. Instead, he just stared into her beautiful and unique eyes, quite pleased that he made her smile. It was his daily duty to bring joy to his mate, after all, what kind of mate would he be if he didn't? He would be the best he could for her, and part of that is making her happy. That's how he feels about it, at least. Neryth then swapped the mood from flirty, to normal with her next sentence, which she asked how he was doing this morning. He gave her a smile and barked, "I'm doing quite fine. How about you? I was asleep for a while, I hope I didn't miss anything important." His expression was now balanced between friendly and serious, because he was very serious about this. It would be rather embarrassing if he'd missed something that he needed to be there for.

Neryth | F | Alpha Female | Golden Forest "Oh don't worry, you missed nothing while you were snoring," she teased, lightly flicking his nose with her tail. Her eyes gleamed with amusement as she spoke, clearly a gentle teasing.
Kaisen | M | Warrior | Dark Pines M: Akela, Angola, Kodiak The large male emerged from the trees, having been lead over by the scent of decay. His ears flicked back at the sight and smell, clearly bothered. "We need to report this to the alphas," he said, as Kodiak backed away. "If you four want to continue hunting, I can go talk to them. I was supposed to be patrolling anyways, and the pack will appreciate some prey."
Arya | F | Hunter | Dark Pines M: Akela, Angola, Kodiak Arya blinked. "I asked Akela to come hunting with me, he's not distracting us." She jumped as Kaisen emerged from the trees, having not smelled his scent over the decay. She hesitated at Kai's words. She knew they needed more prey, but she also knew they should report to the alphas. She glanced to Kodiak, wanting to follow the head hunter's lead on this. Strifle | M | Alpha Male| Dark Pines | M: Valdis & Felis (direct), Kodiak (indirect) A small smirk crept on his lips at his warrior's regard and dipped his head in gratitude, ending the conversation with the three wolves. As they began to disperse, the male watched the hunter bound off, scampering through the dens before bounding into the forest. A wave of discontent washed over his pelt, muscles searing through red fur in ache. Kodiak was his strongest hunter, yet she lacked the skill to watch a pup. Perhaps she did not have the backbone for it either. Strifle never regarded his apprentices directly, not seeing a cause for it. Yet the hunter had taken the commitment with Felis. The issue already caused discord in forming a proper hunting party, responsibility to the pack had appeared to be turned over by the acts of two wolves. Strifle flicked his tail, an itch creeping up on him. While his warriors were well-adjusted in their roles, his hunters were running around playing tag with each other. It was the birth of spring, one of the most important times for readjusting with the forest. Strifle, although he tried to disregard it, could not help but feel agitated with Kodiak. No doubt, their conversions this morning were far from over. It would appear he was right, while Strifle was in thought, he felt a slight mass hit his legs. Instinctively, the alpha positioned himself over it and shone his teeth, a low snarl escaping his lips. His ember eyes gleamed in both detest and subtle jest at the wolf beneath him. As he looked down, he saw the root of today's discord. It had appeared as Felis had finally made his presence known. Strifle felt a bark etch in his throat before he heard the airy voice of a female near him. Looking to his side, his eyes were greeted with the plunging brown eyes of the alpha female. Lifting his neck from Felis, Striffle nodded his head deeply at Valdis as she questioned the two. With a deep sigh, his voice slightly grumbled in exhaustion. "Good morning Valdis, it would appear that some apprentice's backbone has grown larger than their head. This one likes to toy with the hunters it seems.", his eyes now lowered to Felis, "What do you think you're doing this morning?". Edited at August 4, 2023 10:16 AM by Owl

Dapple | F | Apprentice | Golden Forest Pack | Mentions: Rameses Dapples tail lashed back and forth as she jumped with an excited bark, her eyes glowing. She nodded her head vigorously, not trusting her voice enough to speak as she followed Rameses, circling him and bounding around like a pup in the snow. She couldn't help herself, she had been begging him to give her some Offensive attacks, especially the harder ones, since she had first been apprenticed. Rameses had told her to be patient, which was not something she was good at, another lesson she suspected. Once they were out of camp she felt her paws itching to run. "I'll meet you there!" She barked, giving him a playful flick over the muzzle with her tail before racing off through the undergrowth. Her paws blurred against the ground, the leaves that lay strewn across the forest floor fluttering up into the air.

Rameses | M | Warrior | Golden Forest Pack | Mentions: Dapple Rameses watched as his apprentice bounding around him in the snow. He raised his tail playfully, his tongue lolling out as he opened his maw. He lurched forward a little, a tease, briefly getting into the playful stance before standing up again and continuing his trot. As soon as their paws stepped outside of camp, Dapple flicked her tail across his muzzle and took off, sprinting through the undergrowth. Rameses let out a deep, strong bark before tearing after her. His large paws hit the ground as his muscled hips thrust him forward into a sprint. Breeze cut through his thick, dark coat, revealing the golden-tan underlayers of fur. Dapple had gotten a headstart, but it didn't take him long at all to catch up to her. The massive brute took a small leap forward, his front paws coming forward to snag her hips and toss her aside onto the ground. He made sure to be graceful and careful, hitting her in a way so she wouldn't hurt herself, although the movement had been swift and strong, surely knocking the air out of her. He spun around and lowered his large head, lightly nipping her hind leg. Switching instantly from play to training with no warning, he was hoping to thrust her into a mood of complete concentration and completely natural instinct. He wanted to see how she would naturally attack an enemy with no previous guidance or advice from him. He was obviously much larger than her, but that size was both an advantage and disadvantage. The warrior had taught his apprentice as many defensive moves as he could for her level, so he knew she would know to use their size difference to her advantage. Angola | F | Hunter | Dark Pines | Mentions: Akela, Arya, Kodiak, Kaisen Angola stood still, listening to the wolves speak around her. Kaisen had emerged from the trees, but this time she would not be startled. She agreed with his sentiment about telling the Alphas. "I think we should tell them too," she said, casting a glance at Kaisen. "Something about it doesn't feel right to me." She watched Kodiak turn away, giving them all the order to find Felis. The huntress flattened back her ears a bit, holding back an argument. She didn't want to go track that blasted wolf down, she wanted to see what the alphas would say about this. "I want to come with you," she said to Kaisen.

Akela | M | Warrior | Dark Pines | M: Angola, Kodiak, Kaisen, Arya(dir), Felis(ind) Listening to the conversations, Akela would lower his audits slightly to his crania. With a flick of his tail, he'd move to go after Kodiak before hearing Kaisen's voice. Turning, Akela would just exhale a sigh before listening to the larger males statement. "I agree with Kaisen, the alphas need too know." He stated before looking at Angola. "I think maybe Kaisen and I should go.. You guys stay, hunt and try to find Felis. Just so you aren't getting scolded. Your head huntress can't do too much to me without Yukon getting in the way." He mentioned, flicking his audits a bit.
