Cawls | 2.5 | Oak Tribe | Warrior | M: Avalon, Raven Suddenly Avalon made an announcement on who’ll hunt and who’ll patrol. Cawls wasn’t surprised that he was put on patrol. He never was in hunting and he supposed he never would. Although a part of him was disappointed, he rushed forward with excitement. “Well, bye Raven!” He bade farewell, “‘Hope the hunt goes well!” His fluffy tail wagged as he gathered next to Avalon, who he assumed would be their leader. He made sure to sit down so that the larger dog couldn’t see his rump. He hoped that he hadn’t noticed. He looked about and he hoped that the other patrollers would gather too. He had already forgotten who was in the group and he hoped that at least one was a friend or at least a comfortable companion. Uptight, silent dogs made him nervous and he really didn’t want to spread that scent along their border. That would be embarrassing and dangerous. He wasn’t sure what the pack would do if he did, but he knew that no one would be happy. These thoughts slowed his tails movements and he forced himself to keep it swaying back and forth. He felt that someone should at least seem happy during these depressing times.

Kaylie | 3 | Female | Oak Tribe | Warrior Kaylie would get up and stretched. She would go over to the group of hunters. Kaylie was excited to hunt since she was mostly at the den area. She would sit down near the other wolves in the hunting group. Kaylie was however surprised that she was chose to hunt, as she did not go hunting much. Nonetheless she did enjoy hunting from time to time. She would look at the other wolves in the hunting group at the moment. Kaylie would observe them closely but then after a few minutes decided to look away from them. She would look out into the distance waiting to go out and hunt. Kaylie would wrap her tail around herself as she waited. Her tail would thump on the ground repeatedly as she was super excited to hunt. Kaylie's ears would be perked forward listening for any instruction's as she was still looking into the distance.

Raven || 2.5 || Oak Tribe Warrior || M: Cawls, Hunting Group, Avalon (Ind) (And Natan || 4 || Oak Tribe Warrior) As her friend came up and sat down next to her, Raven dipped her head in a friendly greeting. Cawls was already on a role, discussing the pending weather forecast and the previous day's as well. The female allowed a mild smile to grace her face and she lowered herself to her stomach as she listened. When his voice dropped in enthusiasm, though, she turned her eyes on the other dog. "Hey, it's alright," she said gently. "Bad things happen. It'll work out, though, and now she's running with all the ancestors. Surely there isn't a better place for a dog than with them in the lights." Raven lightly bumped into Cawl's shoulder, trying to cheer him up, but her attention was drawn away as Avalon began assigning roles. She was to hunt... and Cawls was on patrol. Darn. She quite enjoyed the smaller dog's company; after all, they had grown up together. She released a sigh and turned to him, returning the farewell before getting up, shaking, and moving over to those in the designated hunting group. - Natan, who had already arrived, blinked to her and then shifted his gaze to the others. He inhaled, and then, while releasing the air once more, spoke, "Alright, then. Once we have everyone with us, we'll head out. There's a herd of deer away from the Ash border; I think that will be safest to try. There have been a few older ones -- we can go after one of those, since they'll fall most easily." Venison sounded quite good to the young male, personally. They would have enough dogs with them for this hunt to be able to take one down, and the ungulates were big enough to feed multiple dogs -- perhaps even the whole pack. If it were not enough, though, or if they were not successful, he would direct them to smaller, easier prey.

Alder || Ash Tribe || Pup || M: Sapphire, Azure, The Pups Alder was curled up a little ways off from her mother's body. It had quickly grown too hot for her, and she wanted to play. With everyone being so sullen, though, the little brown ball of fluff wasn't sure whether she was allowed to, and she had no intention of asking if she could. She opened one brown eye as her aunt moved closer to her mother and began grooming the other female; Alder shuffled and yipped a tiny hello. Her brother and her cousin had not come over to her and so she assumed that it was not quite playtime -- at least, it wasn't yet a socially acceptable hour of the day for such activities. Her attention was turned to their alpha as he began to speak, then. She thought of the northern lights and how they were her ancestors. How she had been a star once. It felt so surreal to picture herself having run alongside her deceased ancestors at one point, before she was born. Part of her wondered if it was true. She moved on quickly as Chinook began discussing patrols. Huh. Only two? Usually there were more than that, at least that Alder had noticed. But she was not in charge, and, frankly, she didn't care to be. It was too much work; she would be so busy that she wouldn't be able to get anything fun done. Being alpha would most certainly not be worth the effort. Edited at February 27, 2022 09:29 PM by Rising Shadows

Sage || Oak Shaman Apprentice || 1 Year, 10 Months || M: Night (Ref), Bryn (Ref), Open A growl erupted from the Shaman’s den – a flash of tan, black, and white fur rushing back and forth. Angered mumbles followed the growl, speaking of ancestors, various herbs, and curious wonderings of recent events. The being soon stops, her shadow back dropped in the entrance of the den. Both release a sigh. Sage sat down, staring at her paws as her thoughts ran rampant. We’re low on yarrow and mint. The elderberry stock has completely run dry, same with the moss. I need to go and gather some things, but after Night…, she sighs once more. Personally, Sage did not enjoy Night’s company (so she claimed). Then again, she didn’t enjoy the company of most canines. She, oddly, always saw the juvenile as competition of sorts. The beagle-mix did her best to ensure that she would be the better apprentice, taking her studies seriously. She never comments on the winners of these “competitions.” However, she never hated Night. Funnily enough, despite “hating” the dog’s company, she did enjoy the competition. It was nice to have someone who was in a similar field and did not judge her for her “strange” behaviors. Never would the mutt have believed that another dog would… murder such a young being of their own species. At first, she was unsure as to how to process the information. Should she be sad? Angry? Fearful? Then, she began to think in a way that would make most ashamed. Is this the ancestors’ way of telling Bryn that he chose wrong? Maybe it could just be some dog going against the ancestors. Or could it be that Bryn did… something wrong and this is his punishment? Sage shook her head. She did not want to even think about such a possibility. Besides, it was not wise to talk or think poorly of Shaman’s, even with her training to be one herself. But that didn’t mean she didn’t have her suspicions. A breeze flows into the den, whispering small words in the beagle’s ears. The female lifts her head, listening intently to the messages.
“Yes. Yes, I should get some more cobwebs. We will need as much as possible for the rising storm.” The breeze stills at her words. The beagle-mix pads out of the den, lifting her head to the sky. Ancestors, I ask of you to give me guidance during these times. If blood is to spill, I do not wish to meet the same fate as my… friend. Edited at February 27, 2022 10:18 PM by High Hills Pack

Rue | F | Warrior | Ash | M: Luna indirectly Chinook The dog listened to her tribemate describing her feelings to the murderer of their precious little apprentice. Luna gave her the question. What did she feel about it? Rue had no idea. It was a scary thought because Rue always had her option and thought made up about something. But this... She had no idea. She barked," To be honest... I will give you my full on honest. I have no idea what I feel about this. Of course I am deeply remorseful and overly wanting to seek vengeance. But the ancestors will guide us to the solution. Even if it means it will be the darkest turn in our lives." Deep and truthful was Rue's vision was about this subject. The subject of this matter will be a known mystery. A series of events will lead one to another. One leading to the left or the right. But no idea what the results will be. Especially if any lives shall be taken. Her mind was broken from the thundering voice of the alpha. Chinook was remorseful but serious in each word he said about Night. It did give the Tribe reassurance that this will not go down without an answer. Her mind did ponder what dog could do this? Could this dog be living among them? In the Oak Tribe? Or a silly outside that provoked the wrong Tribe? The patrols were sent. Should of only two dogs for border patrol. But she won't just be speaking her mind about the issue of what made Chinook made this irration decision to her. Not her replace or power. She lashed her tail in questioning of the patrol personnel. Border patrol daily which was a good idea. Plus now that she thinks about it. More to protect the camp. Then the hunting patrols that will be set between each border patrol. The patrols were ordered with deep seriousness more towards the border patrol. No outsiders at all. She always begged the question in the back of her mind. How did she get in this lack? She was once an outsider as well. A young juvenile that survived on her own and hardly found the trust of anyone. Until.... She shook her head from the paused memory in her curious mind. She will either be guarding or training. Passionate of training will always be her number go to. Just no apprentices which made her deeply concerned. The Pups way too young to train. She could maybe train thw younger juveniles or other dogs wanting to get some movement in. And learn new skills. Rue shrugged it off and deeply pondered the idea to ask Chinook. She grinded her back teeth with deep concentration. She thought to herself He's the alpha now. He doesn't have time talking to me anymore. We may have been close. But doesn't mean we are now.

Mishka Female | Ash | Warrior | M: Chinook, Quilo, Tribe Members . Her ears perked as she heard a deep bark coming from her Alpha. It was time. She made her way closer, not too close, but within earshot. Her hues bounced around from dog to dog, as the others slowly made their way. Mishka felt slight excitement as she was ready to hear the tasks that would be held today. She listened as Chinook started off by talking about Night, the dear apprentice. Mishka was sure it had to be a mangy dog from Oak Tribe. But she didn't want to assume. Assumptions only make you wonder. . Mishka tilted her head as the Alpha began to assign patrols. She heard that her fellow tribe mates, Luna and Pastora, would be doing a morning patrol. Her ears instantly perked when Mishka had heard her own name. A patrol with Quilo. Mishka couldn't quite remember if she has had any interaction with the male, but if not, today would be the first. Her sight was definitely set on finding the murderer. But her main focus was a successful patrol. . The female watched as the meeting was dismissed. She felt the need to find the male, whom she'd be partnered up with. It only made sense to discuss the patrol. Her hues darted around before spotting the husky-looking male. Mishka slowly trotted up to him and greeted him with a head dip. "Greetings, Quilo. How are you today?" The female said with a soft, feminine tone. Shortly after, she flicked her tail and began to speak again. "I felt that it was only appropriate to discuss our patrol today. Would you like to?" Mishka said with a slight head tilt. |

Nymph || Oak Tribe || Warrior || M: Mora, Avalon, Patrol team (Ind.) Nymph paused in her tracks as Mora; the tribes Shauman came into view. She dipped her dead in a respectful manner. “Morning Mora,” she said softly, holding back a yawn. Nymph hadn’t spoken to this female much, they both had their own jobs to the pack, Mora being the Shauman and everything, there was rarely a chance to just sit around and chat. Not that she minded, she actually preferred it that way. When asked about Sage, a little worry sunk in her stomach, making her shift on her paws a little. She didn’t want the same fate bestowed upon their own apprentice. Still, the female kept herself composed and emotionless, Mora didn’t need to have that added stress. “No, I haven’t seen her this morning but I’m sure she's just waking up or something. I doubt she will be wandering around after what happened.,” Nymph said reassuringly, though she was really just trying to reassure herself that that was the case. With a heavy breath Nymph took a small step forward, looking back down to Mora. “I’m just going to get a drink, I need to wake up a bit” she admitted with a shake of her head. Dipping her head once more to the smaller dog, she stepped around her and padded over to the water. Lowering her head, Nymph lapped up the cool water, closing her eyes for just a moment as she did, savouring the coldness travelling down her throat, soothing and yet refreshing her. Making the female feel not so tired. There was no room to be tired, tired dogs left room for mistakes, mistakes she refused to make. Especially with everything going on, she needed to be working to her best. A low growl rumbled in her chest at the thought of it happening again. She refused to let it, even if it were impossible to make sure it didn’t on her own. Her thoughts were cut through at the sound of the Lieutenant making an announcement. Nymph lifted her head from the water, droplets dropping from her maw as she licked her chops, getting the last few drops while turning and heading closer into camp, listening out for who is doing what. On the patrol. A relieved sigh fell from her chest, she was good at a lot of things but hunting was not on that list. It somehow just did not come naturally to her, she wasn’t patient enough and grew frustrated way too easily. Nymph was thankful Avalon had separated Mike and Kaylie, she couldn’t help but feel her stomach churn every time she saw them being all smooshy with each other. A shiver had her fur stand on end at the very thought of it. It was a larger patrol team than usual which was understandable, there was strength in numbers. With one last nod to herself as Avalon finished the announcement, she stood fully and made her way over to join him and the others.

River || Ash Tribe || Pup || M: Chinnok (Ind.), Alder It was the shifting around the den that woke the young ball of fluff up but actually getting up seemed like another task. His eyes were open but his head stayed rested on top of his paws, he wasn’t sure if his sister or cousin was up yet, it still seemed early but looking for them could wait. River yawned, it squeaked as he closed his jaw. Stretching his front legs out in front of him, he dug his tiny claws into the dirt, dragging them through it a little as he pushed himself up onto his paws. Noticing his sister was up just a little way away from him, his ears perked up a little and his tail began to wag. Just as he was about to run over to her, the alpha began to speak to the pack. He stood where he was for a moment, watching. That quickly became boring and he tuned the alpha out, turning to look at Alder once more, a little idea becoming planted in his head. A quiet snicker left his maw and he crouched down to make himself even smaller. There was no better play then when you were learning as well and right now, he could pretend his sister was something to catch. Crawling further behind her and out of sight he crouched further, his stomach just barely grazing the dirt beneath him. Creeping closer and closer, he paused, shifting his shoulders as he got ready to pounce all the while trying to not give himself away with the giggles he so desperately wanted to let out. In a matter of seconds, the young pup leaped up onto his sisters back with a high pitched bark, tumbling over on top of her as he did.
