Tatumn May Rhodes | Loner Werewolf | Mentions: open!
Pack House
Tatumn trodded carefully through the thick forest, being as mindful as possible of any thistles and thorns (and yet still ending up with torn-up feet -wounds that curiously seemed to not be half as bad as they were when she first glanced at them). She had managed to stave off a complete mental breakdown and instead settled on looking at the bright side of things; that no one could see her slightly smaller mental breakdown. The blonde girl had paused for a few minutes, hunched over on her knees and hand leaning against a nearby tree, (the know-it-all in her thought it was an aspen) panting and forcing herself to breathe despite the choking feeling that gripped her throat. She could taste the earthy scent of the dirt and trees that permeated the air. It gathered on her tongue like a living thing.

She wasn't sure how much time had passed at this point, only that she was excruciatingly aware of the scent and sound of every bird and animal that lived and moved over the rush of blood in her ears. It was nauseating. She thought perhaps it was the adrenaline and panic attack that gave her such heightened senses and yet she knew deep down that such thoughts were wrong. The forest had seemed unbearingly loud since she had awoken in that forsaken clearing earlier this morning.

Images of the gruesome scene and the poor, mangled bunny flooded her mind despite her trying to will them away. Tatumn's hand flew to her mouth, a desperate attempt to keep the contents of her stomach down. Willful though it was, it didn't do much and with a lurch, the remainder of the contents of her stomach was on the ground. Tatumn refused to look at it, refused to accept the horrifying truth she knew she would find if she so much as dared a glance. She wished for a swig of water to rinse out the combination of bile and the living taste on her tongue.

Instead, she gathered herself together, looking anywhere but at the ground in front of her with her watery brown eyes and wiped her mouth on the faded green striped sleeve of her too-large stolen sweater. The blonde teen had thought that after finding the cabin in the woods with the clothes that town might not be far off. Tatumn couldn't tell how much time had passed, and she worried she had been walking for too long in the wrong direction. It was too late to give up now however and wallow in her self-pity. And god, did she want to wallow.

It was then that Fate, or more-likely just the wind, carried a scent to her on the breeze. It rustled the leaves on the trees around her and swept through the tangled mess of her honey-blonde hair. She wasn't sure how to describe it or what it was, but she was surprisingly -not quite glad, bit akin to it- to have such a heightened sense for the first time that morning. The scent was almost familiar and the teen felt she could trust it to guide her. Following the faint scent, she came to a patch of muddied dirt and a very large set of animal tracks. They looked canine-like. Like those of a giant dog or coyote. They struck a bit of fear into her, yet a feeling pulled at her gut to follow the tracks.

In a rush of overwhelming emotion, she burst into a full out sprint, crashing through the undergrowth as she went, dodging low hanging branches and capriciously placed tree roots. Tatumn was surprised to feel the strength of her muscles, and the sudden energy that had lain dormant during her trek through the trees. She felt like she could run for miles and miles. She knew in her heart that she could, if she wanted to. Sure, she was already a fantastic runner, but this felt far different; surreal, primal. She lost the tracks after a little while but still could follow the faint scent in the air.
Seconds passed by so swiftly Tatumn didn't realize how far she had ran until she tore through a final, thick swath of trees and out of the woods. The teen stopped in her tracks so abruptly she tore up just a bit of damp dirt and grass beneath her, and nearly pitched herself over her own feet. Before her sat a very large house. If you could call it that. It was a vague mix between a farmhouse and mansion. The thing looked like it could house seventeen different families of varying sizes. Probably an exaggeration, but still.

The blonde just stood there dumbfounded and staring. Was she to just go knock on the door? Ask for help? "Who even lives here?" She muttered to herself. She thought her options through, though they were quite slim, and decided it would be illogical to not at least go and knock on the door. There was a car parked by the house so she took it as a good sign.
Walking carefully, and quickly so as not to lose her nerve, Tatumn found herself standing before the front door. Raising her hand, she knocked quickly, hoping someone would answer.

Andromeda Orchid | Lone Vampire | Mentions:

Duffy (Indir.) Lucian (Indir.)

She lingered near the service bar, her hands pushed into the dark leather jacket, half to keep them out of the way and half to avoid people touching the cold skin. Her head tilted slowly to the side as she perused the menu that was listed above the heads of the staff, idly skimming along the items. She had no intention to eat there, her meal from the previous night had satisfied her for now.

Andromeda took a small glance around the shop, trailing her gaze across the other customers. The scents were too strong in here for her to pick out any particularly tasty smelling individuals, which was a blessing. It had always been a struggle to resist her urges, she couldn’t escape the coaxing desire to relive her first meal. She had made improvements, forced herself within proximity to humans to adjust herself. For the moment, she thought she was doing rather well for herself. Only on occasion did she find herself salivating over a human.

She paused on a man as he ordered at the counter, her blue eyes narrowing ever so slightly at his back. He smelt a little..different. That wasn’t the word she wanted but it was the one she settled on. As he turned away from the counter, Andromeda jolted to life and snapped her eyes away to avoid being caught staring. Her spine straightened like a rod had been shoved down it, staring straight ahead of herself.

Andromeda didn’t really mingle with many people in the town, it wasn’t exactly safe to have human friends. If they happened to catch her on a bad night, she couldn’t guarantee their safety. That’s why she lived alone, spent most of her nights aimlessly wandering around the forest or sitting blankly in front of a book or the TV. She would be honest with herself, it was a sad existence. But she supposed it was what she deserved, being what she was.

“Andromeda!” The barista called out from behind the coffee machine as they slid her cup onto the counter.

She took quick short steps towards the service counter as her name was called out loudly above the mumbling chatter. She slipped her hand around the cup, enjoying the warmth that spread through her palm. She pushed a smile to her lips and offered a thank you.

Turning away, she held the cup in one hand as she brushed past the other people waiting for their drinks and food. Of particular note, the man she had been staring at before.

“Excuse me, thank you.” Andromeda piped up as she slipped past him, she caught his eyes for a moment before she had made it past him. Her free hand opening the door, she stepped back out in the brisk air. At least now she could go and grab her meagre supplies and scramble back home. That or she could potter around a little more.

Andromeda lingered out the front of the cafe, watching as the traffic began to pick up a little. Her head turned to look down the street, almost doing a double take as in the distance she saw a rather brightly coloured man practically jumping out from a large store with bags adorning his arms. Well, he looked…exuberant.

Preferring to avoid too much excitement, Andromeda began to walk casually down the pavement in the opposite direction. Lifting the take away cup to her lips, taking in a mouthful of hot chocolate. A soft hum of satisfaction came from her throat as it warmed her.

Jaedyn “Jae” Easton | Male | Pack Member |

Mentions: Saul {Dir.}, Faelin {Dir.}, Corrie {Dir.}, Ikaris {Ind.}

The revelation that Saul had plans beyond being a medic at the pack’s beck and call compelled Jae to lift a hand over his heart in mock hurt at the audacity. Lowering his hand following the addition to Saul’s reply, Jaedyn grinned in return with a dismissive snort. “I’m pretty sure it’s scientifically proven enough duct tape can fix anything, which makes me pretty sure you don’t have to spare your precious gauze and bandages on me.” Giving an expression that was supposed to reflect how much of a genius his suggestion of duct tape was, he had to briefly consider whether or not it was a good idea to experiment recklessly, as he was inclined to do, without Saul on standby. Having convinced himself the odds of actually needing any kind of medical attention were slim to none, he traded that thought out in favor of the thousand more bouncing around like pinballs in his head.

Having considered Faelin’s response to his skateboard inquiry, Jaedyn waved his hand. “It’s all about attitude, dude. Mind over matter kind of stuff. If you think you won’t be good then you won’t be. And vice versa. Unless you’re just that bad at what you’re doing, then I don’t think any amount of personal positive affirmations will work.” Giving a light shrug following his response and having filled his mouth with food, the male offered Saul a wave to send him off. With Saul’s absence came Corrie’s presence though to which he greeted the female beta with a mutual nod. Slowing down to chew as he anticipated his response to Corrie’s series of questions, Jae swallowed in a gulp before divulging his both simple and straightforward answers. “I’m doing fantastic, I’m going to embody the spirit of Tony Hawk with a skateboard later, decent sleep is for the weak, and all I really, super need right now is for my lottery numbers to be called tonight.” His hazel eyes briefly drifted toward the ceiling as he assured himself he had answered every question before lowering that gaze back to Corrie with a satisfied smile. “You?” He had asked in return, loosely gesturing to Corrie before cleaning what was left of his plate. Maybe his next calling would be some kind of food-eating competition. It would be a bit unfair, he believed, with normal people, but if he could rope even a single other pack member into that kind of competition he was confident it would be something worth at least watching.

The sound of the front door was something Jaedyn hardly paid much mind to anymore with how conditioned he had come to the coming and going of everyone within the pack house. It was the clearing of a throat that only briefly gripped Jae’s attention enough to now be aware that Ikaris was walking through, and from the sounds of it, settling in the living room. As much as he respected the beta’s and was more than willing to do as needed when directed, it was the highest-ranking authority in the pack whose presence consistently reminded Jae that he ought to be productive in ways beyond his own flippant whims. Like patrol rotation. A reminder that made the young male internally wince at considering it should have been one of his first priorities. Then there was the impending winter, and more responsibility, and really an abundance of minor inconveniences that ruined Jaedyn’s affinity toward getting carried away by his impulses.

Flicking a sideways glance toward Corrie before his gaze settled on Faelin, he propped his elbows on the island counter and presented the other male with a casual front. “Hey, Faelin,” he drawled out slowly, “so you’re not busy for the next little bit, right? You see, I was wondering if you’d want to pair up for a patrol run. Just a quick sweep to get it out of the way, plus, it’s always fun in pairs. So would you maybe please go with me when you’re done eating?” His smile crinkled his eyes with the forced emphasis of ‘please’ to hopefully convince Faelin to accompany him. Doing anything alone was boring. More than that, he just couldn’t help but gravitate toward wanting sociability with anyone willing to be his companion for whatever activity or task he may desire a friend for.

Faelin Kelly | Pack Werewolf | Mentions:

Corrie, Jaedyn, Ikaris (Dir.) Saul, Ikaris (Indir.)

Faelin had almost finished his small serving as the others spoke, watching as Corrie took up a position and began to eat. His head lifted in slight surprise as Saul’s rather hasty departure and offered him a small smile as he left along with a dip of his head. He was always off doing something, the poor man never rested.

His attention was brought back to the remaining group as Corrie began peppering her questions. Faelin swallowed the last mouthful of mushrooms and placed his cutlery on the plate gentle, barely a sound was made. He waited patiently for Jaedyn’s excited voice to flood the room, paying attention dutifully. After a moment, he parted his lips to speak, his voice a world apart from Jae’s.

“The winter chill is getting to my bones.” His gruff voice chuckled gently. “My age is showing.” It was a mild joke, but whether or not it would land he didn’t really mind. “I think we need a general trip into town, we’re running low on some things.” He lifted a hand and began to count them off on his fingers as he went. “Bathroom cleaner, paper towels, uhm I think I saw that the kindling for the fire is low too.” He rambled on a little, gradually getting lost in his own train of thought, a slightly puzzled look coming across his face. Did he need more floor cleaner too? He was about to turn and check in the cupboards when he heard a subtle sound from down the hallway.

Faelin’s eyes sharped with attention as he looked towards the kitchen door as a figure drifted by, his head cocked to the side. Ikaris was home. Clearly he had not spent the night in his bed, whether or not he had been out risking his life or had simply fallen asleep beneath a tree was still to be determined. However, from the way he avoided the obvious chatter in the kitchen, Faelin would likely favour the former. He didn’t comment on his arrival outloud but the fact that Saul had already departed made him a little nervous. What if Ikaris needed him? Ever the worrywort, Faelin was completely distracted when Jaedyn’s voice piped back up across from him. In fact, the poor man almost leapt out of his skin as he heard the voice. His eyes darting back to meet the expectant gaze, from the tone alone he knew that he was about to be asked to do something. Could be good, could be bad, he never really knew when it came to Jaedyn.

Faelin’s surprise subsided for a slightly amused smile at the dramatic manner of asking, he reached his hands behind his back to untie the fabric of the apron. Hooking it over his head and folding it over his forearm, he offered a small nod.

“We can go now, if you’d like.” He gave a small gesture to his plate. “I’m finished, I won’t need anything else.” Perhaps his small sizes were responsible for his lean lankiness. Faelin did steal another glance towards the kitchen door, his eyebrows stitching together. Then he began gathering a plate of food, moving swiftly to shovel a portion of each item onto the porcelain.

“I may just check on something before we go. If that’s okay.” Faelin wasn’t really asking as he set the apron down on the kitchen counter and dipped his head towards Corrie as he skirted his way around to the door. “I won’t be long, I’ll meet you out back.” He shot another small smile towards Jaedyn. He did like the bright young man, he brought a certain lightness to every situation which, when you are a man such as Faelin, was welcomed.

He slipped out into the hallway and made sure to keep all the food on the plate as he walked steadily towards where he could scent Ikaris was lurking. Though, ever the subordinate, he did lightly tap his knuckles on the door frame before he stepped into the room hesitantly. It took him a moment to find Ikaris, slumped into the plush pillows with his eyes half lidded. Faelin felt a jolt of concern coursed through him as he registered his leader’s appearance. He looked exhausted and not only that, he was hurt.

Faelin stepped a little more heavily into the room, almost forgetting the plate in his hand as he bent down to get a better look. His eyes wide as he tried to assess whether or not he needed to chase down Saul.

“Ikaris, what happened?” His voice was soft, kept barely above a whisper. He knew how Ikaris didn’t like the attention when he was hurt, or even slightly inconvenienced. Faelin didn’t want the others from the kitchen to come charging in, the situation would become far too overwhelming. Not only for his alpha, but for himself.

Carefully, Faelin crouched down and held out the plate, slipping it onto the couch beside Ikaris. “I brought you some food, but I understand if you don’t want to eat anything.” His hand went straight back to his body. Clasping his hands together in front of him with his elbows balanced on his knees, he was almost eye level with him now, slightly lower.

“Do you need anything?” Faelin couldn’t help asking, offering his aid. He knew about the struggles that his leader faced, years of living together revealed a lot over the time. He never pressed for more information than what Ikaris was willing to give him, Faelin would never overstep like that. He would simply offer companionship and a shoulder to lean on if it was desired, if not he would remove himself. That was how it often played out, especially in the past, when Ikaris would come staggering home belligerent. Faelin thought that things were improving, but from the looks of things something had clearly interrupted that steady improvement.
