Cairo || Band || Lead || M: Everyone A particularly large drop of water landed firmly on the bridge of the stallion's nose and started a wet trail running to his lips. Cairo shook his head to rid himself of the tickling feeling that ensued and cantered along the outskirts of the herd, continuing to urge the horses on. It looked as though the weather was worsening up ahead, but it was also blowing towards their current location, and the paint knew he had to get them all to move. Preferably faster. Soon enough the clouds would be upon them, and Cairo was adamant that his horses make it as far up the opposite side of the mountain as they could. It would take long enough taking the scenic route to avoid the herd, and he assumed there would be lone mares and bachelors making their ways to safety as well. He needed to get there first. The distant wail of a mare caught his ears and urged him onward. Surely it had been a herd mare. He knew it was foaling season; a mare in foal now would slow the herd and allow his own group to gain some much needed ground. Cairo turned on his hind legs and called, "Hurry! Stay together but hurry."

Astra ll Lead Mare ll Coyote Herd ll 7 Years ll In labour The pain was unbearable. But despite this, Astra still had some courage in the howling storm. The clouds were closing in but still she kept pushing, her legs pounding against thin air. She was grateful when Maximus tried to block most of the wind but then he looked sideways and she saw that he was agitatated. She cried out again as Maximus left her side to talk to the chocolate stallion in the corner of her blurred vision. He was soon back however and she calmed down slightly. She pushed harder and felt the foal’s shoulders come through. She turned her head to see that half the foal was out. The rest was easier and with Maximus by her side the foal was shortly born. The sky had worsened however and she was worried about her herd as she nudged the birth sack off of the foal. The foal was dark grey in colour with a blackish mane and tail. The filly had a white blaze and four perfect white socks. She was breathtaking. Astra nuzzled her foal and tiredly stood up before encouraging her little one to do so too. The sooner they could get her moving the better.

Rowan || 5 Years & 2 Months || Stallion || Second || M: Band At his leader’s words, the black stallion urges everyone into a canter. “Ya heard Cairo, move!” He hollers, falling back a small bit while still leading the horses along the scenic route. Any horse who falls too far behind he turns to shove or nip at, and any too cowardly he gives chase to. The raging clouds loomed even closer than before, seemingly wishing to swallow the band whole. This threat caused some smig of worry to awaken within the stallion. However, he brushes it off with a snort and the shaking his head. He picks up his pace, heading once more to the front of the herd. His large hooves spring large clods of mud into the air as he runs. His long soggy mane sticks to his fur as the strand on his head annoyingly covers his one eye. The hair of his manes causes some discomfort, but nothing he can’t handle. “Move yah hooves!” Rowan bellows, pushing the horses into a slow gallop, “The strong part of the stohm is almost here!” This time, he ignores any horse that falls too far behind, instead focusing on keeping the strong members of the herd moving. If they can’t keep up, aur refuse to move, it ain’t mah prawblem. They’ll just have to leahn the hard way

Maximus ll Lead stallion ll Coyote Herd ll 7 years ll Everyone Happiness shined in Maximus eyes as he helped his mate get the filly on her wobbly legs “I will be with you guys in a few I need to assist Zeal” The stallion said in a soft tone knowing his normal voice would startle the small filly after touching muzzles with his mate and foal hesitating to let them leave without him. But hearing the thunder and the wind pick up he nodded to Astra before walked up the the Lone stallion and the mare "I appreciate you guarding Zeal" Maximus thundered to the chocolate stallion, when zeal and the foal are ready to join up with the herd I will allow you to share whatever shelter, my lieutenant found. But you are to stay a good distance from the mares and foals” Maximus’s brown eyes showed his respect toward the stallion but still held some of its cold colorings.

Within a short time her foal was standing up, her brown eyes shining with determination as she stumbled and swayed, only to be caught by a chuckling Astra before her foal fell down. Soon she was helping her foal along, spotting the herd who had found shelter a wee way away. She called out to Dez, hoping that he would send someone to help her support her foal, so that they could make it to the shelter before the storm really hit. The rain pounded at them and Astra made sure that her foal was covered and protected from the wind while getting her to move along on her spindly legs. She saw Maximus talking to the chocolate bachelor stallion. Good she thought, Maximus is making sure Zeal was okay. As she trudged along, her foal by her side, she thought about the deputy that she needed to appoint. She was unsure as of yet which mare in the herd would be good, and she decided to see which one was eager for it the most. As they pushed against the wind, getting closer to the herd, she called out again. Her foal was weakening and she was worried, she had had a feed but she would need more very soon.

Ranger || 15 Years & 3 Months || Stallion || Bachelor || M: Maximus, Zeal Zeal || 6 Years & 4 Months || Mare || Herd Mare || In Labor || M: Maximus, Ranger, Astra, Astra’s Foal Ranger’s ears perk up at the sound of approaching hooves, nearly drowned out by the gloomy weather. He turns to face the owner - ready to fight to the death to defend the mare - only to find the lead stallion himself. The chocolate stallion relaxes at the sight of the younger male. At his first words, he nods his head. “O’ course, never shall I leave any ‘orse ta be alone in such a dangerous time.” After his next response, the male nods his head once more - this time in a grateful manner. “Thank ya, I cannot tell how much that means ta me. An’ don’ worry, I’ll steer clear of yer gals. I ‘ave no interest in taking a mare as my own anyway. Nor do I mean ‘arm to yer foals. Only a true monster would kill such innocent beings.” His gaze turns to the female. She seemed to be in more pain than before, a good sign - given the circumstances. “ ‘Opefully, she’ll have the foal soon.” Said mare snorts in annoyance. “I better have it soon,” she remarks, lifting her head slightly to get a better look at the males, “This pain is getting unbearable!” The mare gives a strong push as a rather strong contraction occurs. It leaves her breathless afterwards, but not for very long. Another one worms its way through her senses, causing her to give the same response. She rests her head back down, her eyes shutting to keep any rain from entering them. Zeal peaks her one eye open a few minutes later and spies Astra urging her foal to run to the herd. The foal looked to be quite weak. However, she couldn’t bring herself to care, more worried about herself and her own foal - who was soon to be born. Come on, little one. Just a little longer and you’ll be here with me. I wonder if you’ll be a filly or a colt. I do hope you are a filly, I’d rather not deal with another colt, the mare discusses to herself as another wave of pain washes over her.
