Amy, ooh nice! wedding went well, they all went out at the end to see the couple off and I was able to just lock the door behind em lol. Didn't get to bed until 3am so instead of being social and going to my crafting group I'm rotting in bed and hunting sunbears for a quest :))

Sylvester | Male | 3 | S.W Follower | M: Open
Sylvester lay on his back, his paws semi elevated above him as he slept more than soundly while the ground beneath him lay greatly disturbed, coating his pelt in new arrays and shades of browns. His tongue lolled from his mouth as he let out a small grunt, his eyes squinting open with a look of disapproval as he caught sight of the ever brightening day.
°
His mouth clamped shut as he rolled himself over onto his belly while letting out a long and exhausted yawn.
'...bright... bright white... too bright...'
He thought to himself as he hauled himself to his paws, the fog surrounding the ground swirling at his feet as he stepped forward into the misty morning. The fog limited his sight but even so his nose twitched as he walked, drawing in the countless new scents of the land their group had been able to take over. His ears swivelled this way and that as he made his way around in the dense fog, his white dusted pelt blending apart of him in as he appeared like a ghostly silhouette, the darker colours of his coat underneath giving him a haunting and frightening look.
°
Sylvester came to a stop as he plopped himself down in the brightest location in the camp, doing his best to take in as much of the chilling sunlight as he could all the while beginning to nip at his paws, making quick work of an itch that had formed itself uncomfortably there.
°
He could smell and hear the others around him as they continued their rest, exhausted from such a journey now coming to a halt now that they had found refuge at their new makeshift camp, the energy within each wolf buzzing with anticipation as to what may follow.
Sylvester let his tongue dart from his mouth as he licked his nose and his lips, his gaze set staring into the swirling fog as his look seemed to fall distant, staring off into nothing in particular as he took in everything at once yet nothing at all.
°
His tail curled up against his side as he offered himself the comfort of minimal warmth as he hoped to chase away the slight chill that bit him through his thick pelt, sending the slightest of suppressed shudders down his spine.

Rǫgnvaldr
Commander || Southern Winds || Mentions: Mavka
Indirectly Mentions: Eyvǫr, Sikúnguaĸ, Arianwyn

As the first hues of dawn painted the sky, the figure stood as a silent sentinel, surveying the area with an empty gaze. His amber eyes, lost in the depths of contemplation, stared into the woods at the edge of the boundary that separated himself from Everfree. Silence swept over him; his body unmoving as he studied his vicinity with a quiet intensity. Lifting his nose to the air, Rǫgnvaldr inhaled deeply before turning, departing the border without so much as a single glance over his shoulder.

Within his mind, he had already begun calculating the optimal routes to expand the Southern Winds Group's dominion – his dominion. Despite the pack’s recent success in claiming territory from Everfree, it fell short for Rǫgnvaldr. Not until the entirety of it was under his watch would he be satisfied. Oh, but Rǫgnvaldr was patient, knowing that they had enough time. For now, he would allow himself to revel in their conquest.. At least for an hour or two.

Beyond the towering evergreens and tangled thickets, Rǫgnvaldr lazy gait ambled forward, the sun's dappled light filtering through the foliage and scattering throughout the woods. He continued, trekking past an unruly spruce tree before reaching the base of a mountain, one in which, when younger, he used to only see from a distance. It would serve them an advantage, this mountain, with its ability to provide a heightened vantage point and a natural barrier. Upon further inspection, Rǫgnvaldr was almost certain that it could provide access points useful in the event of an attack or, if needed, would offer suitable defense.

Beside the lake stood a valuable water source for the Southern Winds Group, yet Rǫgnvaldr's attention was drawn elsewhere. Moving towards a figure in white, his gaze intensified, fixated on Mavka. As he neared, his stride slowed, head tilting subtly to study his mate. The title alone—Mavka being his—was something Rǫgnvaldr struggled to comprehend. To think she belonged to him was once a mere fantasy, an achievement he never thought possible. And himself? He was undeniably hers; always had been. Even when his father, Hrǿríkr, arranged him with another, his feelings never wavered.

“You’re a wonderful sight,” he spoke, prior to running his nose against her neck in greeting. Hovering momentarily, he brought his forehead to hers before pulling away, stare lingering. “I nearly thought myself late. We have much to discuss.” Himself, Mavka, and his Lieutenant, Arianwyn, were to discuss the pack and address any concerns that were beginning to.. arise.

It was true that Rǫgnvaldr's true intentions remained veiled to many. While the Southern Winds Group believed the Everfree pack had ample territory to share, abundant with prey and resources, Rǫgnvaldr cared little for such wealth. His ultimate objective, the culmination of his mission, was to assert control—a right he believed was his, unjustly seized by his father and bestowed upon his youngest brother, Sikúnguaĸ. Little would it have mattered had their father not poisoned his mind with false promises of lordship since a mere pup. It was a sensitive matter, yet regardless, Everfree would face their judgment in due course.

On top of that, his sister, Eyvǫr’s, arrival was of interest to him. More specifically, he wished to check in on her to ensure that she was well. Things had been.. difficult last he saw her, with unresolved feelings of anger and frustration on his end. However, he would never be one to turn away a sibling, no matter the situation. He was only grateful that it was him she had encountered with Arianwyn, and not another, the mere thought of an alternative scenario sending a worried chill down his spine.

He couldn't deny that his mind drifted to his other siblings momentarily, evoking a mix of fury and grief that clawed at his chest like a wound. Truthfully, Rǫgnvaldr hadn’t realized that he had been clenching his teeth until the faint, metallic taste of blood seeped from his tongue, seemingly having been caught in the crossfire. Nor had he noticed the way his claws dug into the dirt, gripping it as if he were traversing treacherous terrain. Taking a deep breath, he exhaled sharply, his expression returning to its usual blankness.

Presently, his attention would center on the Southern Winds Group and its inhabitants. There was a multitude of tasks demanding their immediate attention. Primarily, they must fortify the territory, designate a suitable central location, and ensure an ample food supply. These tasks occupied the top of his agenda for the day and must be completed before considering further territorial expansion. There was nothing that Rǫgnvaldr desired more than to make a move, but he was no fool. They had just made one, and so a moment to gather their bearings would be optimal.

Everything must go accordingly if he were to take down Everfree. More specifically, his father.

Akuma/4.5/Male/Nomad/Tags: Everest

“Wakey, Wakey Akuma.. Or I will kick some snow in here and ruin your beauty rest.”

Angry fangs snapped in the direction of the voice as the dark canine was stirred from his slumber by a nudge and the threat of snow, though his jaws only clamped down on frigid air. The sound of his teeth clacking together echoed throughout the cave as an ode to his immense displeasure. Clearly unafraid and unbothered, the female had already walked away and settled herself far away from his nest. It was a smart move, given her denmates foul temper at being roused, not that the wolf in question would ever lay so much as a paw on his companion.

“Akuma” was the name she had uttered, and it was what they called the dark, hulking creature that was curled up in a bed of pelts and moss. Finally, deep, piercing irises of amber blinked open from where his nose was buried in his bushy tail, and he found the form of Everest, the wolf whom he had shared his life with since the previous winter. She was the only wolf in the world Akuma still felt a shred of loyalty for. He would never admit it, but he felt it was unspoken between them, that if push came to shove he would die before anyone so much as harmed a hair on her hide.

A snarl rumbled on his lips, and it was a mean one at that, but again, Everest would find herself protected by his unwavering loyalty. “Ever…” He grumbled as he got to his paws and stretched, his hips popping in a rather unflattering way while his claws dug into the earth, “If you so much as get a snowflake in my bed, I will bury you in a snowdrift, and leave you for the foxes, you hear?” He delivered a swift, but restrained kick to one of her fuzzy haunches as he came to sit beside her at the den’s entrance. It was his revenge for waking him up. Akuma hated waking up.

And he hated waking up even more when there wasn’t anything good to do. Fog bathed the landscape below, and it was clear that more snow would be coming. It was a horrid, absolutely terrible day, and it was not even past morning. How were they supposed to hunt in these conditions? He grumbled inaudibly to himself for a moment, admonishing the world and its choice of weather when he and Everest needed food in their bellies. Winter was hard enough for two lone wolves without thick fog and harsh blizzards. At least he wasn’t trying to survive alone anymore…

As his gaze swept to his partner, Akuma could not help but recoil. “Everest, pray tell…” He scrunched his nose, “Why are you covered in mud? It scarcely beyond sunrise…” If there was one thing he had learned while living with the she-wolf, it was that she is a mess. Always tracking mud and grime into their den that Akuma tried to keep clean. He sighed and shook his broad head. “Wash yourself in the snow… or something. I better not find any of your earthy coating in my nest. That is also grounds for being buried in a snow drift. I am sure the foxes are simply ravenous.”

Akuma tried his best to squint through the fog, his ears pricked and nose twitching while he searched for any signs of life. As expected, there was nothing. The snow seemed to obscure most of his senses, and the fog made it impossible to even see any potential prey. “This is what you woke me up for? Don’t do it again.” With a huff, Akuma stood with every intent to go curl up in his warm nest once more. He was not a lazy wolf, by any means, but he knew what opportunities looked like, and this morning seemed to have none for them to take advantage of.

“We should hunt later.” He spoke again as he found himself once more in a ball, and he rested his chin on the edge of his nest, “Perhaps afternoon will clear some of this fog. We will be lucky to get a hare today…” He trailed with a grimace, clearly not liking the idea of going hungry. Hunger meant failure, and Akuma was not keen on failure. “Maybe we can go down to the rivers… see if we can catch a mink or something of that sort. We only have to tide ourselves over until the herds return.” The winter had been as harsh as it was long, and Akuma only hoped that Spring would be twice as plentiful. He and Everest needed a victory, and soon.

Kahlia | F | EverFree | M: Open, Teresa,Anders, Sik, Arianwyn (all indirectly)

Kahlia had woken from her slumber as her cover for warmth consisted of the chilly winds that swept into the den. Her fur bristled in annoyance of her slumber being disturbed by the cold than someone to get her awake for the meeting. She took a peak with her blue eyes to see what wolves have woken up or not around her, but so little has even opened their eyes to welcome this nasty day. She doesn’t blame them as they had the best intention to sleep as they could to stay away from the cold. She looked behind her shoulder to check her skin as her last supply of flowers had been drained a couple of days ago. Her skin started to become irritated with hives and cracking of the skin. She looked closer as it was slowly coming to red instead of whitish pink underneath. She knew later on today she had to try to find some flowers that would be starting to bloom even if it caused her a nuisance to find. Her skin would become itchy more than it is and hotspots will begin to form. She slowly got her paws and bowed down to stretch her back hearing loud distasteful pops running down her spine. She shook her whole body to try to get rid of the discomfort in her body. She slowly moved herself out of the den to welcome the last day of winter into her aura.

She saw some wolves waiting for the meeting that would be called in the slow mean time. But she had other things to worry about than a meeting at this moment of time. She casted her eyes to look for her mother, but had to come to terms that she had pups that she had to care for. She had no herbs to give her or atleast keep her from getting discomfort. She slowly moved to the den and peaked her head in to look to see how her family was doing. Her eyes examined her mother, father, and newly young siblings to see if any problems alerted her. But, she crept backwards to keep them from stirring awake from her presence as she found nothing that alarmed her. She took her spot for the meeting as she had nothing else to do, but wait for the day to be commenced with orders and well more orders. She felt her mind slip away to thoughts that she hated to think about. I miss Arianwyn. I wouldn’t have to be doing this stupid apprentice to please my mentor with battle and hunting skills. It’s rather disturbing to please someone that could kill something because they are rather competent enough to do it. Arianwyn I know you can’t hear me with my own thoughts, but where are you.. Cassius looks for you only because of me.. I give him a herb as much as I shouldn’t to mask his scent and come back with a new lead or a dead end.. Just give me something that I know you’re safe.. I leave prey outside the border even if it's a hare or squirrel. I know it’s gone by the morning. But it’s stupid for me to think it’s you.. But that’s all I hope for nowadays.. She stopped thinking about her former mentor and looked around to see if anyone noticed her saddened look. She realized she must have been in the clear.

She realized she may be waiting for a little while then she anticipated. She laid down with annoyed huff as she just wanted this day to be over with. She looked up waiting for Sik to have his morning rant or acknowledgement or whatever his mind chooses to open the day for the Everfree Pack. Her realization that the day was picking for the new ranks for Sikúnguak pleasing or what he sees best. She thought unpleasantly If he is foolish enough to keep her as some warrior apprentice or something else other than a healer. Then his whole pack will be worm food and the deaths are on him. She disliked her feelings toward the Lord, even if he had a clutch on her heart strings pulled for him. Though she won’t be afraid to speak towards him with an attitude or her concerns with anything but. She doesn’t care if she would be punished or shamed for it as she won’t let this daddy’s boy tarnish her hard work and hours of helping sick wolves over this harsh winter left unseen. She knew her feelings for this Lord would either be strengthened or disappear once he made his decision out loud for the pack to hear. Though she pondered, would she still have a hopeless crush on the white Lord or will it slip away.. She knew her chances were slim so she had never acted on it, but she was just a young female that let her heart tell her what to do other than her head. Her competition where older females that were his age and have been childhood friends is what she can recall. Love is a tricky thing, but I need to stray away from it. She thought to herself in her self critical way as she always knew that she would rather stay away from it. She sees it being messy and rather unappealing because she doesn’t want to be hurt in the process. Her mind cleared from the thoughts of her newly come rank and the Lord’s sticky situation and her nonexistent love life. She needed to pray that her hard work has been recognized and earned her spot within the pack of Everfree. If not? She feared that her days with the Everfree pack would be over before she could blink. Her eyes closed shut to pray in her mind chanting her prayer would be heard by something that would hear her pleas. That her dedication would be paid off with a grateful award that would return her favor.

Arianwyn

Female | 4 Years Old | The Lieutenant | Southern Winds Group | Mentions : Mavka & Rǫgnvaldr

The sun was creeping through the young female's den ; groaning slightly, she shifted in her sleep. She curled up tighter and squeezed her eyes shut - forcing herself to ignore that it was the beginning of the day. She gave a slight groan of annoyance ; and finally she began to stir out of her comfortable little nest. It was time to get on with her day, she had people to see and things to do. She shook out her fur, soft flecks of snow and debris coming from and she began to move - rather slowly, she was having to slow down due to her condition. It was quite obvious that she was pregnant as she walked through their little makeshift camp - she could feel the stares of the curious members of the pack ; she bet they were wondering just who the father and why a young female like her wasn't with a male to help raise the offspring. The father's a coward, she thought bitterly as she made her way to the meeting area.

She made her way through the foliage - taking in way the light filtered in to hit the dewdrops on the leaves in a splendid manner ; it was quite a pretty piece of land that they had stolen she would admit. She wasn't fond of how the morning fog was making the earth damp and getting the slightly muddy earth in her paws. She could pick of the sent of two others : Rǫgnvaldr & Mavka - the two were a force to reckoned with and she thought them a handsome couple. Giving a dip of her head as a greeting, she silently watched the two interact. The two differently colored wolves seem to balance each other out, and she could appreciate that.

"Morning, Rǫgnvaldr and Mavka," the female said rather solemnly and respectfully - of course she'd never do that in front of the group as she respected them. " I know you both have questions and I am here to give you answers to them. Firstly - Rǫgnvaldr, please have an open mind with what I will be telling you." She said calmly as she looked at the male hopefully, wanting to make sure he was truly listening and not being blinded by his feelings - she trusted his judgment and leadership, she just didn't want it to be blinded by his thoughts of revenge.

"The first topic, why me and your sister have arrived here and are no longer with Everfree - both of our reasons have to do with that heinous creature you call a father," she spoke bitterly, "he placed your sister in an arranged courtship with one of his loyal followers, Drathellos - and it was not for good reason. He did it because he thought her weak because she wasn't a warrior and wasn't very talented when it came to fighting. And she was miserable and wanted out." She then paused to let the information soak in and then continued, " my reasons for leaving . . . well, I fell in love with Arnviðr, and I secretly became his mate but your father disapproved - saying that he couldn't have a Healer as his son's mate, and how I wasted my potential as a warrior for some measly herbs." She spoke angrily as she sunk her claws into the earth just thinking about his insults to her profession. And she released an angry growl and stared at the ground for a moment before gaining her bearings.

" I chose to switch my path from Warrior to Healer because we had no other apprentice who was interested in herbs and our Healer was getting older ; I made a decision for the good of the pack and I will never regret that - if he couldn't see that then he can shove his head up a deer's ass." She snarled and gave a scoff before looking at the dark-pelted male that was her friend and leader, " as much as I love your brother - I couldn't bear to be mates with such a cowardly and spineless male, because when I told him how his father threatened to get me made a warrior even though he knew I preferred to be a Healer ; your brother didn't even care nor was he on my side - he deferred to your father. " she said bitterly and sadly, " that's not even half of why I ran - the real reason, that making me a warrior bit was a subtle threat to my pups, this male would go out of his way to attempt to kill his own grandchildren ; how soulless does a wolf have to be to even begin to do such a thing? " she said breathless, truly disturbed by the nature of the implications.

"And not to mention how he treats Sikúnguaĸ," she said sadly - a certain forlorn nature to her tone, "you probably don't know this, but when we were apprentices - he really looked up to you," she said softly looking at Rǫgnvaldr, " all he could talk about was how cool you were and how he was going to be just like you when he grew up. I remember his father told him that he was training for be the next Lord and your brother - laughed at him wholeheartedly and said, "Why would I want to be Lord when Rǫgnvaldr is perfect for that role? I'm gonna be his right hand guy as his Second or at least his Third." And your brother was so genuine about it - I miss it when he was more mouthy and bold, your father changed that." She said ominously and she took a deep breath.

" Sikúnguaĸ had a crush on an apprentice, a pretty thing too - he was about crazy as Mavka is for you and you for her ; that boy was down bad for that girl. " she said with a teasing chuckle , "and she was smart too ; picked up on what your father was doing and so she gave him the ultimatum - her or his father, because she wouldn't have anything to do with the family if Sikúnguaĸ was just some pawn of his father. And your brother viewed her words as if she hung the moon and stars itself - he was confident, too confident. . . " she said sadly.

" I was out herb picking when I stumbled upon Sikúnguaĸ and Hrǿríkr having a heated debate ; and oh, your brother was calling Hrǿríkr out on his bullshit - talking about how horribly he treats you and misguides and hurts you with lies and how he isolated him and doesn't even let him have friends without approval and how he just wanted to know his family and be a normal family. Not to mention how he was a liar and manipulative ; he even threatened to tell your mother." She spoke sadly and the could feel a chill come up her spine as she told the next part, "and Hrǿríkr, just looked at him with a malicious smile saying "Who would their mother believe - a whining pup or her beloved mate?" And about teaching him a lesson on respect. And they left, all I know is ; Sikúnguaĸ was gone for nearly a week, and the your father brought him to the medic's den bloodied and hurt and forced me to care for his wounds without asking questions. " she said her voice small and sad - remembering how hurt Sikúnguaĸ was. " Your brother didn't talk for another week ; nor did he speak of what happened, that fiery light behind his eyes were gone and he was much quieter, much colder after that experience. And not to mention the girl he liked? Though she wasn't angry with him, she didn't show him any love, just - cold indifference, and it might as well have broken his heart. Your brother is in a deep hurt ; and I fear it's only time before he snaps, he's already more short with your father and being more bold in his disapproval of him. Because even though he's leader , Hrǿríkr is still trying to manipulate him - but little brother isn't having it." She finished with a sigh.

" Is there anymore questions that you have ?" She said neatly curling her tail over her paw to receive questions.

Teresa

Female | 5 Years Old | Subordinate/Warrior | Everfree Pack | Mentions: Anders [directly], Their Children [ ind ; Mariposa, Henrik, Wisteria, Aloe, Finnegan, & Kahlia ]

Teresa stirred as she realized that something had awoken her - and she groaned sleepily and looked down to see her youngest children sleepily curled up in a little bundle ; still snoozing this cool morning. And that's when she realized that her mate wasn't in their nest - and she saw him sitting by the entrance and gave a small smile at the sight of him. Yawning slightly - the female carefully moved away from the pups so as to not wake them and she found some rabbit pelts and covered them so they could stay warm. She didn't need them getting sick because of the cold. And that's when she padded up to her mate and pressed her body against him and nuzzled him ; and let her body comfortably rest on him as she noted some of the pack members heading under the Great Rock for the Morning Meeting that was about to be held and she gave a slight grin at the thought. Her children would finally be assigned proper mentors and her daughter would have her official role within the pack ; and she couldn't think of anything more better than a Healer and couldn't be more proud.

"Anders I'm so excited for our children, they finally are getting proper mentors ; and not to mention Sikúnguaĸ came to speak with me about Kahlia - I had voiced my concerns about her progress as a Healer being disturbed due to Arianwyn's disappearance. And he assured me that the former Healer had a backup in case anything went wrong and that Kahlia will indeed be made a full-time Healer as her role within the pack." She spoke softly and happily - she was proud of her children and couldn't wait to see what they do, " and Aloe will be mentored under the other Healer that's going to be installed. And then Finn will finally be getting a proper Warrior Mentor, I wonder who he discussed mentoring under. Also, I've been seeing how he's been eyeing his fellow apprentice . . . what's her name, Vlatka. I think our boy has achieved a little puppy crush." She said chipper and air full of teasing - her voice low and comforting.

"And soon the pups will be able to shadow and see where they belong. I think Wisteria and Mariposa might want to be warriors or sentinels with how spirited they are ; they're much too restless to be huntresses or den mothers. And little Henrik, he's just so gentle - I can't see him being a warrior really, but he has potential because he can be a little nippy when he wants but he's more of a mediator type- possibly a Healer like his sisters or just a Hunter for starters." She said with a soft hum as she looked back on her children with a endearing look, and a slight sadness engulfed her at realizing she was missing two of her babies, " I just wish Oleander and Chrysanthemum had survived - this would've been our largest litter. " she said with a soft sniffle, a slight crack in her voice - and she closed her eyes and took a calming breath before giving a tired smile, " I can only hope they're enjoying themselves and Death has taken them into her gentle embrace and showed them the road home amongst the stars. " she said whilst looking up to the heavens, and she felt her heart break even more at the thought. "They were so small, so tiny . . . so fragile and helpless." She whispered lowly, "will every one of my litters have a loss, because I don't know if I can take it each time."

She wanted children and wanted a nice and big family, and she was having her dream. But losing children in every litter ; especially when she had named them all. That, that was gut wrenching and she didn't know if she wanted to go through that process again. Maybe it was just the hormones talking ; but suddenly she just felt tired and she leaned into her mate silently, her eyes looking down amongst the pack and seeing who was up and about. And she gave a soft sigh saying, "Today isn't a day of sadness, it's one of celebrations - we should be celebrating our children and their growth, maybe when we reach the hot springs and cleanse ourself for the new season these bad feelings will pass me over. I hope we get to go to the springs now that the season is closing."

She then paused saying, "Should we bring the pups to the meeting or should we leave them with a Den Mother for the time being ; but maybe it would be a good experience for them, and I have been pretty snappy about keeping them from the pack." She said with a slightly guilt in her voice. She just felt something was off, because she had gotten sick when she was pregnant and she never got sick. That was just crazy thoughts ; right?

Cassius | M | Everfree | M: Ravindra, Sik (indirectly)

The large black male was carelessly munching down on the scraps of a carcass of a hare that he found. The dried blood on the front half of his body with mud caked in his fur like a blanket of disgust and treachery. He cocked his head at the incoming pack members awaking from their slumber as he had been awake for a while. Or he should say he hasn’t slept in days just laying down listening to everything that everyone loves to talk about when no one is around. He took the scent of his own that had an overwhelming stench of death and blood. Cassius sighed to himself knowing he might as well wash himself before the morning announcements of the pathetic young fool of himself arrived. His amber gaze lifted to the Lord’s den and it narrowed in deep apathy of the coward that calls himself a lord. Cassius turned his back to move to a snowy drift outside of the camp. His pace was slow and boredly with no pep in his step to get it over with. Cassius slowly exited out of the camp without speaking or asking a soul in sight. He slowly rolled himself in the snow in pain and discomfort as his body was beginning to rot from the inside out. Cassius closes his eyes and lets himself daydream of what he wished by his side. A toll after losing a loved one..

Winter was harsh and deadly for everyone that let it come close to. A kiss of death that everyone underestimated until it was too late. Cassius was one of them to underestimate it.

“Cassius, love.. Where are you?” a dark brown she wolf called from the back of his mind. Cassius barked, “Kalliope… You are dead.”

Kalliope added, “Dead from reality. But never truly dead. You are going down a path that destroys everything you stood for, Cass. Over my death, blaming Sikunguak won’t bring me back from the dead.”

Cassius snarled, “Kalli, no it won’t. But he had the power to establish ranks and now it’s too late.. I only have Ravindra as my memory of you. But I swore the day that you died he would pay his life for what he took from me.”

“Cassius… Do what you must to let your heart and mind rest. But I can’t watch you destroy yourself in the process. You were charismatic and kind and so lovely. Just promise me one thing Cassius?”

Cassius questioned with an attitude, “What’s that Kalliope? To have mercy on their souls!!”

Kalliope whimpers, “Be a father and still be yourself with him Cass. He has lost his mother and siblings, Cass. He needs you more than you think.. If you need revenge to be at peace of mind.. Keep him out of it.. Cassius, please promise me.” She put her head under his chin and sighed.

Cassius silently barked, “I promise…”

Cassius opened his eyes as he was laying the snow from a halfish bath of himself. His mind had wandered too far than he wanted. He sighed and lashed his tail getting himself from that. Cassius made his way back to camp. His son, splitting the image of his mother that haunted him even after death. So much like his mother from the looks to personality. The last weakness of Cassius that will make him go off the deep end. Though he couldn’t let his son be plagued by the Lord’s and founding family's disgusting lies and manipulation like every other low life in this pack. He sat in the shadow and half not waiting for this meeting to be over with. He did not care what rank he received as long as he still found the perfect intel for Rognvaldr. Even if he has to drag every last follower into the grave with him. A true embodiment of a lord is what Rognvaldr is and his old nasty father took it away from him. Cassius will have everyone pay their dues in one way or another. Though first it’s time to trick every single wolf that he is with them. Cassius will find someone within this pack of foolish idiots to help his cause. He will just have watch closely of every single member excluding his son. He had a few members already in his mind.

Björn | Male | 5 | Everfree Pack | M: Sik, Teresa {indirectly}
Soft paws padded along the ground as fog swirled by the wolf's feet, the sun fighting its way through the misty coated morning. Small rays of light danced on dew drops which rested upon blades of grass, trails of steam hanging idly in the air as Björn exhaled.
°
This winter had been especially harsh for the pack, the turn of events seemingly unforeseen by most as they found themselves being led by Sik, a wolf who was younger than most and somehow seen as fit to lead such a powerful pack. Björns ears swivelled as he traversed the area, his nose picking up the countless scents of his other pack mates around him as the air buzzed, heavy with energy for the upcoming ceremonies.
°
These ceremonies were important to the pack, for the apprentices to finally make their mark and find their place among the rest of the pack, with Teresa's pups, his nieces and nephews being apart of them.
His tail gave a soft wag at the thought of some of his family relations being granted such important roles to help the pack function, the sense of power that was to help raise this pack further.
With a small flick of his right ear, Björns footsteps came to a halt, his neck craning to the side as he attempted to gaze through the fog as it muffled his senses greatly.
°
As if the packs activities and events weren't enough, there had been mention of another pack infringing on the Everfrees territory, more problems for the pack to deal with on top of everything.
A low and quiet growl rumbled in Björns throat as he returned to heading for the meeting place, his ears now slanted slightly backwards as his thoughts raced through his mind.
°
'How can he hope to fix all this.. Surely these ceremonies aren't just their way of covering up our bigger problems, as important as they are.. What were the elders thinking putting a pup in charge. Do they think our lives are some kind of joke?'
Björns lips raised in a silent snarl, powered by his negative thoughts as he pressed on, slowing to a stop as he found himself where the ceremonies were to take place. He heaved out a great sigh as he decided to lay himself down off to the side, resting his chin on-top of his paws as his golden eyes scanned each passerby with idle curiosity.
°
"This is going to be a long day..."
He whispered as his tail lightly passed over the ice cold ground, his claws dipping in and out of the earth as he watched the dirt crumble around them.
Gentle notes of birdsong fluttered about the air, carrying great promises of what was to come, the sounds almost putting Björn back to sleep as he fought to keep his eyes open.
This was far too early for his liking but for the packs sake, he had to suck up his feelings. Today wasn't about him.

Wisteria | Everfree Pack | Pup | [directly] Anders, Teresa, Mariposa, Henrik [indirectly] Kahlia

As the first rays of dawn gently filtered into the den, the young cream pup stirred from her slumber. Blinking sleepily, she stretched her limbs and yawned, her small frame still heavy with the remnants of sleep. Wisteria luxuriated in the comfort of her den, feeling the earth beneath her paws and the familiar scents of her family enveloping her senses. With a curious tilt of her head, she peered outside, her ears perking up at the soft sounds of birdsong that filled the morning air, gradually dispersing the lingering silence of the night.

Beside her, Wisteria's parents began to rouse from their rest, the movements and murmurs of awakening slowly filling the den. Wisteria's excitement bubbled within her as she watched a few other members of the pack start to emerge, their forms silhouetted against the soft light filtering through the den's entrance. The tranquility of the early morning filled her with a sense of peace, a quiet anticipation for the adventures that awaited just beyond the den's entrance.

With a gentle huff, Wisteria tracked her father's departing figure with keen interest, remaining quiet as her eldest sister, Kahlia, poked her head into the den. It wasn’t long before their mother woke, following after her mate, but not before covering the pups with rabbit fur. Once it was clear, Wisteria nudged her siblings, Mariposa and Henrik, gently with her nose, urging them to wake up and join in the start of a new day. Crouching down low to the ground, her creamy fur brushing against the cool earth, Wisteria crept closer to her siblings, her movements careful to avoid bringing attention back to the den. With a soft exhale, she whispered their names, her voice barely above a breathy murmur.

"Posie," she urged, her words carrying a gentle urgency, "Hen, wake up!” Her little tail brushed against the ground as she could barely contain her excitement. Her ears perked more as she strained to listen to her parents speak. Without waiting for her siblings, Wisteria mustered up the courage to venture out from the den, her small frame trembling with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. She could feel her blood pumping, her breath coming in short gasps as she struggled to steady herself against the overwhelming rush of emotions. It was her first time exploring beyond the safety of their den, and every sight and sound felt like a thrilling adventure waiting to unfold.

As Wisteria emerged into the fog, her heart swelled with warmth at the sight of her parents. She felt the mist enveloped her like a gentle embrace, its cool tendrils swirling around her. Moving deeper into the shadows, Wisteria realized with a sense of satisfaction how nicely the fog covered her, blending her form seamlessly into the mist.

In this hazy landscape, Wisteria felt a sense of freedom and anonymity that she had never experienced before as the den's confines made her much easier to spot. With each step, she relished the opportunity to truly sneak up on her parents, a mischievous glint sparkling in her eyes.

She was brought to a pause when she watched her mother’s demeanor shift, sadness radiating from her form. Oleander and Chrysanthemum—the names of her departed littermates—resonated within her, stirring a mixture of curiosity and sadness. Though her parents had shielded the rest of the litter from the full extent of their grief, Wisteria couldn't help but wonder about the siblings she had never known, the ones whose absence lingered like a shadow over their family. Wisteria had only caught bits and pieces of what happened in as packmates walked by the den in passing.

As Wisteria's mother mentioned the meeting, her ears perked up, her attention immediately captured by the prospect of joining her parents. Excitement bubbled within her, transforming her mood in an instant. Her tail began to wag slowly at first, then with increasing enthusiasm. Before she could even fully process her own thoughts, Wisteria found herself darting out from the shadows, stopping abruptly in front of her parents with pleading eyes wide and filled with anticipation.

"Please let us come! We will behave, I promise.” she pleaded, her voice earnest and brimming with longing. In that moment, all she wanted was to be part of whatever awaited them, to share in the experiences and decisions that would shape their pack's future.

Atka | Southern Winds Group | Follower | [indirectly] Mavka, Rǫgnvaldr, Arianwyn, Eyvǫr

The large obsidian male trotted through the dense woods, scenting as he went, still adjusting to his new home. His mouth dripped with blood from the two rabbits clutched in his jowls—a successful hunt, though Atka had never fancied himself much of a hunter. These two had practically fallen into his paws, a stroke of luck amidst his usual clumsiness. Pausing, he glanced up at the cloud-covered sky with a tinge of disappointment. What a shame; he always enjoyed the vibrant hues of a sunrise.

As Atka slowed to a walk, the forest stirred to life around him, the chorus of birdsong welcoming his approach to the camp. His thoughts drifted to the Everfree Pack, a subject that held little interest for him. In his experience, all packs had their grievances and rivalries; it was no surprise that animosity existed between them. However, he couldn't ignore the growing sense that the Commanders harbored personal issues with the Everfree Pack—a notion that piqued his curiosity, if only fleetingly.

His mind then shifted to memories of his old pack and, inevitably, his deceased brother. Once close-knit, their pack had succumbed to the poison of politics, erupting into chaos one fateful day. Amidst the violence, Atka had lost sight of his brother, the turmoil escalating into a brutal struggle for survival. Barely escaping with his own life, he wandered as a rogue until fate intervened in the form of the Southern Winds Group. Initially a broken-down group, they had soon swelled in numbers, offering him a new sense of purpose amidst the wilderness.

Memories of his natal pack flooded his mind, each one tinged with a bittersweet nostalgia. He remembered the days of camaraderie and unity, before it all unraveled in the wake of political discord. The chaos of that final confrontation haunted him still, the image of his brother's face lost amidst the turmoil etched into his memory.

As he set the rabbits down in the prey-pile, he noticed the two Commanders, Mavka and Rǫgnvaldr, and their Lieutenant, Arianwyn standing by the lake. His amber eyes flicked between Rǫgnvaldr and Arianwyn, a subtle tension prickling at the edges of his awareness. There was a connection there, a familiarity that stirred unease within him. He noticed it with Rǫgnvaldr and Eyvǫr as well.

Turning away from the trio, Atka settled down off to the side, his focus shifting to the she-wolf who had arrived with Arianwyn. Eyvǫr, he recalled her name, had a presence that intrigued him. There was a grace in her movements, a quiet strength that commanded attention. Atka couldn't help but feel drawn to her, there was a warmth in her gaze, a gentleness that belied the harshness of their surroundings.
