Theodore | 18 Years | Male | Twin | Mentions: The Family (Ind.) - Theodore stirred in his sleep, the sunlight creeping in from a window where the curtain had been parted just slightly. Once the light hit his face he woke, covering the light with his forearm. The older boy loved his sleep, treasured it. Theodore's lips parted as he took in a deep sigh, and he sat up. His back began to warm through the white cotton nightshirt as the sun began to take up most of the room. A few faint voices could be heard through the house, and he ran a hand down his face, trying to draw the sleep away from his eyes. The thin floorboards creaked as Theo shuffled over to his writing desk, not bothering with changing out of his night clothes. The chair was easily pulled out, following the scuff marks on the floor from constant use. Theodore sat silently before pulling out a heavily worn sketch book, the binding hardly held together. The pages were coarse, unlike most readings he had to do in his youth. Today he didn’t feel like actively drawing, instead just looking at his works was enough. This was his routine, or at least the thing he was most likely to be doing in the morning. Drawing or critiquing what he’d done. The page he stopped on had scattered sketches of a magpie. Theodore liked this page, mainly because it was his most recent sketch, but also because he adored the contrast of the black and white feathers of the bird. Theo took his charcoal pencil and decided to scribble a few words onto the page. He usually left little notes for himself, usually on what to change or how to enhance the features of the subject. Once satisfied, the bustling of the house outside of his room drew his attention. The last thing the young man wanted was to be seen as a recluse, and so getting ready for the day. Theodore’s idea of “getting ready” consisted of just looking presentable, and so he managed to wrestle on an undershirt, and some plain black button trousers. Theo, once decent, slipped on the ugliest house slippers he had ever laid eyes on, not willing to search for his nicer pair, and stepped out of the room. As for his hair, he had chosen to not do much with it, leaving it simply as it sat once he woke. Theodore wasn’t expecting the day to be filled with much, with his father being away for some business meeting that Theo couldn’t care less for. As far as he was concerned, Theodore’s day was free until he was absolutely needed, and from what he could tell, that wasn’t now. The young man braved the hallway, and made his way toward the stairs, listening for the voices of his younger siblings echoing his way. Their voices weren’t the only things drawing him down, it was the marvelous smell of fresh food being prepared. Upon reaching the last step, he drew a hand through his hair before taking the final step down, and chirped out, “what a fine morning, isn’t it?” His face held a fine line between a smirk and smile, anticipating the greetings from his siblings.

Anastasia Madden 37 | Female | Mother | M: Mordecai, Angelina, Elenora , Theodore Anastasia headed downstairs hearing the voices of her children who were already up. "Good morning children," she said smiling as she went over to a chair. A housemaid came in, informing everyone that breakfast would be ready shortly, and handed Anastasia the latest newspaper. She smiled, putting on her reading glasses, and started to read it. "Tomorrow, the Underground is opening. Angelina, you could take Mordecai & Elenora there if you want?" As she spoke, she didn`t look up at the paper and seemed to be deeply engrossed in it. After what must have been half an hour, breakfast was ready and the family all shuffled into the dining room. On the table lay a great deal of food but not quite a feast. There were plates of freshly baked bread, eggs, sausage, fruit tarts, bacon, and small baskets of in-season fruit. Anastasia grabbed a little bit of everything and began to eat. While she ate she glanced around at the room, her gaze settling on Angelina and Theodore. She would need to talk to them soon but she wanted to put if off.

Angelina | 18 Years | Female | Twin | Mentions: Mother (dir), Siblings (ind), Father (ind) ~ After her small chat with her younger sister Angelina was feeling quite a bit more awake than before. Perfect timing, her mother had just came down from upstairs, she smiled when she asked Angelina if she would be interested in taking her siblings to the event that was coming up. She nodded curtly, "I would be happy to do so, Mother." She responded in a calm tone. While her mother was reading the daily newspaper Angelina had gone back to her corridors to fixed herself up even more for the day, making sure no loose hairs were out of place and putting on just a bit of natural makeup. After she finished up, Angelina walked over to her bed where her favorite book lay. She held it close to her chest as she made her way back down the stairs where her mother and siblings were all gathering and sitting around their dining table. Angelina quickly placed her book on the couches small side table and made her way over to the table as well. The food this morning looked delicious, as ever, the young woman took the seat right across from her mother and loaded her plate up with her favorites. This included a small tart, in-season fruit, and finally two sausages. Her first choice was to eat the fruit tart, she used her knife and ate quietly. She finished a few bites before looking up and across the table to her mother. "Will I be taking Eleanora and and Mordecai only," she looked over at her twin, "Or will Theodore be joining us as well?"

Elenora | 14 | F | Youngest daughter | M: Mordecai (Ind) Theodore (Ind) Anastasia (Dir) Angelina (Dir) - The young lady went and sat down at the table in the dining room. Elenora thanked the housemaid after she had set out all of the food. She greeted her family with a smile. Elenora looked up excitedly upon hearing about the day-trip that was being planned. She hoped that her siblings would all be able to come. It would be a delightful trip anyways. The progress on the Underground had been all over the newspapers for the last few months after the project was announced. It would be a wonderful thing for people getting to work, or to other places in general. She was kind of curious about how it would look herself. Now she'd get the chence to actually see it! Elenora added some of the bread, fresh fruits and bacon onto her plate. She spead a small layer of butter onto the bread, biting into it. It was lovely and fluffy as usual. The people who made it where amazing chefs in her opinion. Elenora swallowed her mouthful of food. "What time would we be going tomorrow?" She questioned her mother and elder sister with curiousity gleaming in her eyes. "Is it opening very early?" She presumed it would be, so that the underground could start functioning as soon as possible. She'd try and wear one of her nice outfits tomorrow, she decided.

Anastasia Madden 37 | Female | Mother | M: Angelina, Elenora, Theodore (dir.) ~ Anastasia took a bite of some sausage and starting to grab more when Angelina asked, "Will I be taking Eleanora and and Mordecai only, or will Theodore be joining us as well?" "Theodore can join you if he wishes," Anastasia said looking over at Theodore as she waited for a response. Then Elenora asked, "What time would we be going tomorrow?" and she soon followed up with, "Is it opening very early?" Anastasia gave a small chuckle at her youngest daughter's eagerness and replied, "It should be opening around 10 o'clock in the morning. It`ll be very crowded so you ought to get there at least 15 minutes, if not half an hour early if you want to really see it." She paused to take a bite of bread and butter before continuing, " It`ll take around 20-30 minutes to get there with all the morning traffic so you lot need to be ready and leave around 9:15." The group nodded in agreement and continued to eat. Edited at November 20, 2023 01:41 PM by Stream

Theodore | 18 Years | Male | Twin | Mentions: Angelina & Mother (dir.), Elenora (ind.) - Theodore looked between the bunch as he gathered a few things onto his plate. A few sausages and some fruit tarts made up his meal. He had taken in a mental note of the Underground opening up today, considering it as he sat down. He wasn't directed to attend the opening, but if his siblings wished to go with themselves, then so be it. The eldest boy sat silently as he carefully scooped a piece of the tart into his mouth, enjoying the taste. It had always been one of his favorites. Before he could shove the remaining breakfast on his plate into his mouth, he noticed a charcoal smudge on his hand from his sketch book. The dark powdery residue stained his hand. Theodore carefully set his dining utencils down, and began to try and wipe the smudge away with his shirt as he listened to the others. His attention was drawn away as he heard mention of his name, gaze drifting up to meet his twin, Angelina, and then Elenor as she spoke up. Before he could respond, he heard his mothers voice chime in, "If I am so welcome, then who am I to protest going?." His voice drifted off as he focused his attention back onto the smudge. Once it had been cleared away from his hand at a reasonable amount, he tried to hide away the evidence left over on his white cuffed sleeve. He would surely have to look more presentable than he did now. A night shirt and some plain trousers were no good at all, not to mention his uncouth hair. Anastasia Madden 37 | Female | Mother | M: Mordecai, Angelina, Elenora , Theodore Angelina gave a small smile and nodded in response to her eldest son. After a short while, everyone had finished breakfast, so she cleared her throat to get everyone`s attention. "Mordecai, Eleanor, go to the living room," her gaze shifted to the twins, " We will be out soon." The twins looked at her, confused about what she had to talk to them privately about. "As you know, you two have come of age, and now you must go on your paths." She paused and pursed her lips a bit before continuing, "Theodore, Your father and I have been talking about sending you to a college up north. A man must have a good education to be successful, you know." She turned to Angelina and said "There`s a ball coming up in about a week or so, It would be good for you to attend so you can meet some suitors. I can order a new dress from the Mantua Maker if you wish." With that she took a deep breath and observed her children`s faces as they started to respond.
