(Side note: I loved Pheonix's interpretation of Riven. I got a pretty good laugh out of that haha.
Also, for the loaf-pastry thing, just do whatever works. XD I probably forgot what word I used lol.)
Riven made a face at Valentina's jokes, like he was trying to hold in a laugh. Before assuming a very upright posture, and preforming a mock curtsy. "I would be glad to cook for you anytime, mi lady." he spoke with an exaggerated accent as he let out a laugh. Riven sat down with his plate to try and hurry and stuff the food down. Already pondering what he could hustle Greta out of tomorrow for food. Maybe he could take her the uneaten pastry leftovers in exchange?
Nodding in agreement with Valentina, he shrugged, "I mean, what's the worst that can happen? It's not like they can just find dragon riders laying around." he let out a laugh, but was it actually funny? It could be seen as concerning. This year's first-years was the smallest a batch of dragon riders had been. Each year had less and less dragon riders. Less and less dragons hatchings. If eggs don't sense the presence of their rider, they won't hatch. Except for the few who do, and usually unsuccessfully bond, and end up behaving like an actual wild dragon, and move out towards the outer edges where the handful of other wild dragons roamed. Maybe the dragons are evolving to not need humans. Or maybe they can sense something we can't.
Riven shoved the last piece of the pastry in his mouth, trying to hurry and chew through the thickness of it. Standing up to dust his hands off, he attempted to straighten everything up real quick before heading down the hatch and down the stairs. Trying to hide his excitement as he went, why was he so excited?
'Your just excited because you get to hang out with your fire-haired girlfriend.'
"Butt out Aetherion!" Riven growled aloud. The rumbling laughter echoing in his head made him realize he had said that out loud. His cheeks flushed hot and he quickened his pace to hurry down the stairs and hope no one heard him.
Riven pushed out the door at the base of the tree to see the dragons. Aetherion's pale, iridescent form causing reflective light to shine back at Riven. The stunning lightning dragon turning his head to fixate his golden orbs on his rider, tail tip flicking back and forth in a feline manner.
'Oh hello. How nice to see you. Talk to yourself often?'
Aetherion released another rumbling laugh in response to his rider's glaring stare. The boy's pale-blue eyes shooting daggers.
"Right, anyways you lazy bag of scales," Aetherion snorted out a huffy breath at his rider's insult, which caused Riven to gag and swat at the air as he choked out the rest of his sentence. "Make yourself scarce. If Val and I are going to break into the headmaster's office, a bright white and bright red dragon are not the most discreet." He spoke aloud on purpose this time, so the other dragons and Valentina could hear. It would be best for Aetherion and Pheonix to be spotted somewhere far away for an alibi.
-----------
Seraph blinked at Thorn. "I feel like I should be offended by that? But your right." She shrugged with a laugh. Her faux offended expression quickly disappearing. She didn't eat much of her bread. Half of it still sitting on her plate. With a slight cringe, she just held onto the sticky pastry as she placed her plate in the sink. Watching Riven and the others getting ready to head out, she moved to follow them. Riven barking something at Aetherion caused her to snort out a laugh. At least she wasn't the only one spitting out random things. But at least Riven was talking to Aetherion. Who kept talking to her?
The footsteps drumming down the stairs went silent as they all spilled out on the ground where the dragons were lounging. Aetherion was already hauling himself to his feet, getting ready to take off.
Whiplash pushed her snout against her rider as she slinked down from one of the branches in the tree. At least The Willow was accomodating to dragons and riders.
"What do you say, Whiplash, any ideas on what kinda trouble we can stir up?"
The brightly colored dragon wiggled with excitement. Vivid purple eyes sparking up at the prompt.
'Phantom's Veil?'
Seraph smirked at those words. She knew that plant. It was one of her favorites. Although collecting it could be tricky.
With a pat on the dragon's snout, the short blonde turned to look at Thorn. "how good is your illusion magic? Would you be able to make shapes in the shadow?" she asked, placing a hand on her hip as she looked at him.
Riven arched a brow. "Care to clue us in on your plan?" His voice had a hint of skepticism in it. Seraph couldn't help but feel a pang of hurt at that. Did he not trust her? She immediately snuffed down that feeling, replacing her wall as quickly as it crumbled. Of course he didn't trust her. Why would anyone trust her? She was raised and trained to put a dagger in your back.
Her posture stiffened slightly, almost her entire mannerism changing from one small detail.
"Phantom's Veil is a vine that grows in the more mature area of the forest. It likes shade. The vine produces purple flowers that release spores in the air that cause mild hallucinogenic affects as a defense mechanism. The flowers can be harvested and when disturbed by say, someone stepping on it, or placed in a bowl with a smolder to cause smoke, people walking by would be affected. It causes your vision to falter and swirl, hear things, and overall just make you wig out for a few minutes. Place that in a doorway where people have to walk out, they breathe it in. Partnered with Thorn's "monsters", it should keep people occupied for a while. Just try not to breathe in any purple smoke." Her eyes narrowed at the last sentence. Jade green sparking a dangerous gleem as she stared back at Riven. But the look was gone in a moment, like she never even realized she just stared at him like it was a threat. Looking back to Thorn to wait and see his input on her plan.
"Before anyone panics, Phantom's Veil is not lethal. You trip out for 15 or so minutes, then once you've breathed in some fresh air, your fine." She scoffed at the last part like it was more of an inconvenience.

(Side note - I'm loving Aetherion right now lol, I love the way he teases Riven xD )
~~
Thorn shrugged, scratching the back of his head. "Hmm, I'm not sure. I guess my illusions are pretty decent. And that weird plant thingy that you're going to use would be a great distraction paired with my illusions." Thorn had never even heard of Phantom's Veil until today, much like everything else he was just starting to learn about. Was he really that out of the loop? In his defence, he didn't attend the same classes as Seraph.
He got up from his seat, following the others and placing his plate in the sink. He was the last one out, the others already talking with their dragons.
Obsidian was waiting patiently outside, presumably ready to object and argue why exactly this was a ridiculous idea. Eyes glowing the way they did when he felt strongly about something, Thorn braced himself for the long lecture but he was met with silence. Confused, Thorn blinked at his dragon.
'So, you're fine with this?'
The black dragon nodded his large head. 'Of course. Why wouldn't I be? It's about time you did a little adventuring with your new friends,' he stated as if they were little kids.
A light blush fell over Thorn's face and he faced the ground. 'We're not friends. It's just convenient that we're all interested in whatever this is and we all have something to bring to the table.'
Obsidian made a skeptical sound but said nothing more. Thorn was quite surprised. His dragon was supposed to be the voice of reason and yet here he was, encouraging his rider to go along with this. Was Obsidian really convinced that he desperately needed some friends? A wave of embarrassment washed over Thorn. Even his own partner, who was considered a loner among his own species too, was giving him friendship advice. Running a hand through his ruffled hair, he climbed into the saddle. He glanced over his shoulder at Seraph and Whiplash.
"So what's the plan exactly?" He called over to her. "We wait for you two to grab your veggies and BOOM! We charge into the hall looking like idiots and spraying gas everywhere? Solid plan." He gave her a thumbs up and a crooked grin. "Hopefully it doesn't smell or else we'll be the Fart Squad for the rest of our time here," he added with a chuckle. Socialising wasn't too bad after all.
And yet, despite the jokes, the small voice was still nagging him in the back of his head.
If this went downhill then how long would they still be here. If they weren't expelled then something fatal could happen to them in the basement. If they came out safe and sound then Thorn was sure they'd probably be expelled. There was obviously a reason not many people knew about it. How many books had Val dug through to find out anything about the underground lair? And it still sounded like a myth but worrying nonetheless. But could the school afford to get rid of four, even two, students? The amount of new pairs each year was dwindling, everyone knew and it was strange and worrying. Shaking his head and muttering to himself, Thorn wiped his hands on his pants, a strange habit whenever he was nervous, and tried to convince himself that it'd be fine. They were in a school full of some of the best dragon riders. Of more recent times of course but that wasn't the point.
~~~~~~~~~~
Val laughed at Riven's silly accent before jogging down the stairs and into the fresh air to speak to Phoenix. "Hey, Phee. Are you ready for this?" Val asked, putting a hand on Pheonix's side. Not that Pheonix would be doing anything big.
'I hatched ready!' replied the over enthusiastic fire dragon, eyes glimmering with excitement. Clearly Pheonix was fine with the whole plan. Val turned to talk to Riven.
"I know Aetherion and Pheonix should probably stay elsewhere to not draw attention but if people assume that us too are together because our dragons are then won't they ask more questions?" Friendships between years wasn't too uncommon but usually they had a mutual friend or had a shared class etc. If Val and Riven starting 'hanging out' despite having nothing in common, it would bring a few questions. Some people at the academy were very nosy. Especially since Riven was quite popular.
'Yes, I bet every little bean loves that corn on the cob," Pheonix suddenly and randomly inputted, earning a giggle from Val.
"Shh, Phee. You really need to learn some manners. You could take a few lessons from Obsidian over there."
'It's not my fault..Do you think he tastes buttery just like that corn you made me eat that one time?'
"You stole that when I wasn't looking!" Pheonix shrugged and bent her head down a little lower to face Riven. She eyed him carefully then came forward and gently, as she could for her size, pushed him with her snout. 'Smells like hay! Wait no, Vally. That's me. He actually smells like sugar. I knew he'd taste all sweet like sunshine! '
Val turned bright pink in embarrassment. What the hell was Pheonix thinking! She quickly came forward, trying to move Pheonix away from Riven. "Sorry, sorry..." she repeated, standing in front of Pheonix and moving her away. Or trying to at least. Pheonix seemed very interested in how he was popular and that she'd seen a girl staring at him once.
' I think she also wanted to see if he has little, gold, chosen one siblings. She seemed very interested in his hair. Do you think a bird pooped on it that day? That would be funny, even if I didn't see it.'
Val chuckled lightly. "Ok Pheonix. You've had your fun and games, now please move!" Val snapped, very frustrated. Why did Pheonix choose the worst times to act like this and embarrass her? Riven was probably wondering what kind of rider couldn't control her dragon.
Pheonix looked bored now and suddenly moved her head back. Val, now with nothing to lean on, toppled over onto the ground. She could hear Phee's laugh in her mind.
'Sure, laugh it up. But who feeds you goose?' The laughing stopped. Getting back onto her feet, Val glared at Pheonix, all traces of embarrassment gone. She looked back at Riven. "You don't understand how lucky you are," she huffed. Of course she landed with the one who acted like a five year old. "So, should we head to the school now and stay near the Headmaster's office or go along with Seraph and Thorn?"
(Aetherion just lives to humble Riven XD)
-----
Riven paused slightly at the menacing stare the jade green orbs shot him. But as soon as it landed on him, they were swept away. Was that a threat? Riven opened his mouth slightly, as if he were to speak, but dismissed it. Surely Seraph wouldn't openly threaten him, especially not with Val and Thorn around. But he did make sure to keep a mental note of it. Normally he wouldn't have thought anything of it. He was a popular figure with a powerful dragon, it takes a lot to scare him. But he was worried about his friends. And people he couldn't trust were not assets, they were liabilities. He allowed his pale gaze to linger for just a moment longer before he turned to find a bright red dragon snout right in his face.
"Oh yeah.. that's wonderful.." He was trying really hard to hold in a gag, he had just recovered from Aetherion's breath that reeked of mutton, one of Aetherion's weaknesses, now he was hit with hot dragon breath. The mix of Pheonix's heat and probably her last lingering meal was not the most pleasant. But the last thing Riven wanted to do was offend a fire dragon. Aetherion would only laugh and call him bald if all his hair got singed off.
Riven had a playful smirk on his lips as he watched Valentina try to push Pheonix away. The dragon's breath seemingly forgotten as he watched her with a soft expression. Even the harshness of the pale coloration in his eyes seemed to warm. Seraph's voice snapped his attention up, his usual expression returning.
"You can go with me and Thorn. I just have to extract these flowers without breathing in the spores myself..." The blonde trailed off as she thought. It was almost like you could see all the cogs and wheels turning in her brain as she calculated.
'You better not get in trouble. I still need my dinner.' Aetherion snorted.
Riven rolled his eyes. Ignoring his dragon's glutton. Then pretended to be offended with his jaw gaped open. "Do you think I wouldn't be your friend without an all-dooming prophecy? How rude. Maybe I just really like your company." He offered a sly smile partnered with his exaggeration. A swat from Aetherion's wing as the dragon opened them caused Riven to falter and glare at the dragon.
'Don't scare the poor girl off. I actually quite like watching all the antics you and your friends get into.' Aetherion actually had a hint of sincerity to his tone. Along with the usual condescending tone he had as well.
Riven made a face, like he was reluctant to agree, but did anyways. "Your right though. Aetherion, if you go off by yourself, can you stay out of trouble?" He queried the dragon aloud.
'Uninterrupted nap? Of course.' The dragon rumbled in response. Before stepping a few paces back, long wings unfurling, the bright blue streaks across the membranes shimmering in the sun's light, before the dragon pushed off from the ground and spiraled into the sky. Making sure to keep his saddle pointed away from a majority of the populace so people couldn't see if Riven was in the saddle or not.
Riven turned to the others, "I think we should wait to head to the headmaster's office once the diversion goes off. In the meantime, try to act natural? I can go bother Greta, take her some of the pastry and see if I can bribe her out of some other ingredients?" he spoke aloud as he brainstormed, slowly beginning to make his way towards the main building, but waiting to see where everyone else was going.
-------------------------------------------------------
Seraph had a pretty good feeling about this plan. As long as everyone stayed calm and did what they were supposed to, this would work. She had to get in that basement.
A pause. Her blinking stopped, stopped moving, as if she ceased functioning. Why was she so worried about this basement? Shaking her head, as if clearing the fog, she continued her mental planning. She needed a covering to protect her from the spores. Something to keep her from breathing it in. She hadn't had a chance to collect the plant herself yet, only just used whatever Professer Greenleaf allowed. Well, more, "what he doesn't know won't hurt him," than allowed.
'Can they even make it where those vines are? The trees are pretty dense in there. And Obsidian is... a large dragon.' Whiplash craned her neck to peer at the large deep dragon. He was almost twice the size of the deep red dragon.
Seraph nodded in agreement with her dragon. "Whiplash has a good point. Either Thorn will have to ride with me once we got closer to where the plant occurs, or I'll have to go alone." She moved to adjust the saddle on her dragon. Making sure all the straps and buckles were in the correct place and to keep the dragon comfortable. Turning around to place her hands on her hips, she flicked her gaze between the other three riders. Her expression was hard to read, but her jade green orbs seemed to be sizing them up almost.
"Something cloth should help with extracting the spores too. Unfortunately none of us have air magic so we couldn't just make a protective air bubble, but if a cloth mask can help with smoke, surely it can help with this." she shrugged as she unfurled the bottom part of her deep red shirt, almost the same color as her dragon. With a quick flick, a small dagger appeared in her hand. Who knows where she was hiding that. A quick rip and the fabric tore loose from the shirt. She could just find something else later. Fiddling with the cloth piece until it could be torn around her head in a makeshift mask.
"We ready? We're losing daylight?" She asked, without even waiting for a response, clambered into the saddle on her dragon.
Valentina nodded in agreement, one hand on Pheonix's side. "I guess I trust Pheonix enough to cover for me." As she said this, she glanced at her dragon who looked back down at her with a cheeky look in her eyes.
'Of course I can cover for you Vally. This will be fun! But when you and your little beanling friends return you'd better tell me what happened! Or I'll... I'll...burn your hair off!'
Val rolled her eyes but couldn't help a small smile. "Don't worry, I will tell you what happens. If anything happens. For all we know there could be a bunch of cobwebs down there and nothing else."
Pheonix seemed to disagree with this but gave a satisfied huff anyway. 'Do you think if I burned Riven and Seraph's hair it would smell like popcorn?' Pheonix asked suddenly. Val sighed and shook her head. "Nope, just burnt hair. Which smells terrible." She could still remember her first few months with Pheonix and her uncontrolled bursts of fire which had burnt too many of Val's things, including her hair. She had to cut her hair just below her shoulders after a bigger incident. Val shuddered at the thought of that happening again.
Pheonix nudged Val out of her thoughts. 'Vally, I was only a hatchling!' her dragon huffed. 'Since you've gone and ruined the mood, I'm going to go now.'
If only Val didn't have such an overdramatic child for a dragon.
"Yeah, you should probably head off now. Be careful and make sure nobody can tell that I'm not in the saddle!" Pheonix spread her large wings as she assured Val it would be fine. Then she took off into the sky, wind ruffling her feathery mane.
Val turned to Riven, who was already heading to the main building and followed after him. "We should probably wait somewhere near his office to get inside quickly."
~~~~~~~~~~
Thorn shrugged, eyes set on Seraph. She was acting suspiciously, at least that's what his gut was telling him, as if she was hiding something. Maybe this would be the perfect chance to ask her a few things without Riven and Valentina around. She seemed a little too excited for this occasion, or was he just imagining it?
"I'll ride with you once we get close. Obsidian can wait back at the edge of the forest for us to return. I don't think he'll mind too much."
Thorn looked up at his dragon, who gazed back down at him with his glowing eyes. Climbing into the saddle, Thorn waved over to Riven. And Val. "Good luck!" He called out. His and Seraph's efforts would be in vain if they couldn't get into the office or if they were caught. Taking a deep breath, Thorn steadied himself in the saddle, ready to follow Whiplash.
'Hey, Obsidian? Do you think Seraph is acting a little...odd?' It would be better to confirm his suspicions before looking like an idiot when he accused her of being a spy or a secret gremlin who liked basements.
'I don't think she's a gremlin but I suppose she seems a bit out of it. Though it could be from a lack of sleep. That can make you a bit jittery. She did look dreadful when we first saw her, a mess she was.'
Nodding along slowly, Thorn realised how paranoid he was being. Seraph, plotting some evil plan? She might be a bit of a wildcard but she wasn't evil.
Thorn chuckled quietly to himself at his paranoia. The fire at the nursery probably had him on high alert.
"So where are we heading to, Chief?" Thorn asked the small blonde girl. "Imagine a bug eats those plants before we get to them."

Whiplash took off with a soft leap, her wings unfurling to catch a wind current and zipping away. The rhythmic beats of wing flaps behind her indicated Obsidian was following. Thorn's voice calling out to her caused Seraph to flick her gaze back for a moment. "There's a forest near the middle of the island. The trees there are old and the canopy is thick. Phantom's Veil likes old trees because it likes shaded areas." she called out in response. Trying to keep her sentences short to make it easier to yell into the wind.
Whiplash flew just above the tree line. Her slender, almost boomerang shaped wings, allowing her to hover quietly and quickly over the trees with little wing flap movement. When the trees started becoming taller, the leaf coverage denser, Whiplash slowed to a halt. Seraph peered over her shoulder and tried to see down into the canopy. "We can try to go down here. Obsidian might not be able to get through the branches though. If you need to, jump over onto Whiplash." she peered up to the dark dragon, her green eyes appearing to have a slight glimmer as she arched a brow at the rider. Before Whiplash tucked her wings in close and slipped from view, expertly dodging the branches with calculated movments before her wings were able to snap open once they got past the tall leaves. The trunks allowing for open flight room, just with some weaving.
Seraph kept a slight perch in her stirrups as they moved down. Her eyes flitting around as she searched for the recognizable purple and dark green vines, that twirl around the trunks of the trees. It didn't take long before she could see the slight purple haze from the spores. Her hands moving quickly to wrap the torn piece of shirt around her face, fashioning a makeshift mask. The only thing visible was from her eyes up.
The dragon sidled in as close to the trunk as possible. Her wings holding them in place, her back lowered with her head turned to allow Seraph more room to move. Seraph stood in the saddle as she attempted to reach the plant, also attempting to limit her breating to avoid accidentally breathing in the spores. Her breath hot on her face. A knife fastened in her other hand, her fingers worked to quick to snip the flowers off, leaving a slight bit of the stem on to allow a spot to hold them. Her hands shaky as she worked, trying to not panic, but the limited oxygen was not helping.
Finally, when she thought she had enough gathered, she placed the flowers softly into a pouch on her saddle. Moving her legs to straddle her saddle oncemore, feet slotting into place in the stirrups. Once she was secure, Whiplash spiraled off through the canopy again. Her body weaving to avoid the branches and her wings snapping open once they reached the sky above the treeline. "Here's hoping this works!" She held up a small flower to Thorn, offering a smile, but realized she still had the mask on her face and he couldn't see it. Placing the flower back into the bag of the saddle, Seraph pointed her attention back to flying ahead of them. Whiplash soaring back towards the school.
Once they were closer to the school, the deep red dragon slowed up to hover closer to the large dark dragon. "I'm going to land and just act like its a coincidence there is purple smoke floating around, when you see the purple smoke, start up with the monster show." Seraph gave a slight wink as Whiplash turned into a dive. The dragon landing, and her rider slipped off as soon as they did. Turning to rummage through her saddle bags again, she clutched the flowers in her hand, and also grabbed a few of her tools. A small bowl, that was originally a mortar and pestle, but now should work to contain a small fire. Placing the flowers in the bowl, she crushed them up slightly, not enough to become a poultice, but enough that they were already irritated, a slight purple haze rising from them.
Slipping a match into her pocket, she grabbed a small line of rope string she kept tied to her saddle in case of emergencies. Clutching everything, she turned to start walking towards the school. Hoping she'd fly under everyone's radars as she stalked right up the front entrance. The imposing doorways open as students and dragons flocked too and fro. Luckily the dragons usually weren't affected by this. She didn't want to deal with disoriented dragons setting things on fire.
In one swift movement, she held the bowl with crushed flowers in her hands, striking the match against the rocky surface and lighting the end of the rope string. Placing the rope string on the bowl, fashioned much like a fuse, she placed it just on the edge of the doorway, upwind. Before quickly trying to hurry away before anyone noticed. A slight purple glimmer began to fill the doorway. Not enough to cause a whole lot of people to notice, unfortunate for them because they were walking through it. But it was hazy enough to give just the slightest hint of purple in the doorway.
Now, it was up to Valentina and Riven, as more people began to start accumulating in the purple smoke. Their worried faces looking around.
-------------------------------------
Riven nodded in agreement to Valentina. "Yeah, we can act like we're walking to talk to a professor something. I'm not sure how far they'll have to go, but we need to get inside before Seraph smokes out the entryway." He mumbledd, just loud enough for her to hear. They didn't need anyone else overhearing them. Their foot steps moved in sync as they flitted into the building. Both trying to look normal as they perused in. Riven's pale blue gaze flicking around, but kept glancing back towards one source. Valentina. But he always made sure to not allow his gaze to linger too long as they meandered down the hallway. The chattering of voices near the entryway indicated a disturbance. Hoping that was the diversion caused by Seraph, Riven moved quicker towards the Headmaster's office. The Headmaster also was heading towards the entry way, fortunately. Riven had to do a double take for a moment. An unrecognizable person with the Headmaster. He was tall, quite handom, with deep brown hair and a very noble posture. Instantly, an unsure feeling settled on his stomach. But Riven shook it off. Moving to offer as a visible blockage for Valentina so she could have a chance to fiddle with the lock.
Keeping his attention on their surroundings, he awaited until he heard the click of the lock and Valentina pushing the door open. Slipping in the doorway himself, he closed it with a soft click. Before he and Valentina quickly got to work searching the office, trying to leave no trace.
His hands manuevered in and out of books, shelves, drawers, whatever he could find. But a loose board underneath the desk is what caught his attention. With a slight wiggle, the board was pulled loose. Revealing a small cubby hole. A key, a notebook, and a picture were all inside.
'Stormblade is coming back inside.'
Aetherion's voice ripping into his head caused Riven to stumble back slightly. In a panicked motion, he snatched the items from the cubby and quickly placed the board back beneath.
"We gotta go!" he whisper yelled to Valentina as he walked by her, grabbing her hand to guide her back out the door. Only when the door was opened, a figure stood in the way of their exit. Headmaster Stormblade, with a rather irritated look etched on his face.
"Mr. King. Miss Woods. Care to explain what you were doing in my office?" He asked with an arched brow.
Riven stared back in response. Suddenly all his ideas whipped from him.
"Ah, Headmaster Stormblade! Apologies, these two were trying to help me out when I first got here and said they would go find you for me, but you found me first!" The man Riven saw walking with Headmaster Stormblade was here again. Throwing his arms around the Headmaster like they were long lost friends or something.
(Forgot Connor's last name tbh...) "Connor? Apologies I had not been out to greet to you when you first arrived, I was a little preoccupied." The Headmaster's dark gaze turned back to Riven and Valentina. "Apologies I was not present in my office students. I was dealing with an issue with the students. I don't know if everyone accidentally tried a wild mushroom or what was happening, but everyone was freaking about some monsters." The Headmaster shrugged with an exasperated sigh.
The other dude, Connor, apparently, offered a hearty laugh as he clapped the Headmaster on the back. "Your a busy man, I get it! These two can show me around so you can get back to your work." he offered a beaming smile. Pearly white teeth glimmering, and his bright eyes flashed a wink towards Valentina.
'That guy's an a****le.' Riven grumbled to himself as the Headmaster shooed them away from his office, and this Connor guy began walking with them down the hallway.
'Who's an asshole?' Aetherion queired.
Riven didn't have a chance to respond to his dragon before the other guy began talking. "Whew, that was close. I'm Connor! I'm a new student here. Nice to meet you two." he offered a smile and a handshake to them both, but Riven didn't like how long his hand lingered with Valentina.
His jaw clenched slightly. This guy was already on his nerves. Who did he even think he was?
"So, can I ask why you two were in the Headmaster's office?" her raised a brow at them, most of his attention pointed to the pretty redhead.
For the first time, Riven really didn't feel like talking. Nor did he trust this guy. He kept the stuff he found in the cubby tucked safely in his clothes. Keeping his gaze facing forward so he didn't have to look at his annoying face.
