Nikolai - M - Team Dog - Mention(s): Vireya, Rusalka, Nikita (ind: Adena, rest of dogs)

~

Even half-blinded by the snow and half-deaf from the wind, Nikolai could hear Vireya, and her advice was solid. Don't stay out here because "out here" was going to get them deader than a freaking rock. And rocks don't live. No, in fact, rocks are deader than freaking rocks, which are... Nikolai gave up and paid attention to what was happening in front of his muzzle past white, white, white, white, white and white.

More correctly, paying attention to the other teammate that had quite literally appeared out of the curtain of snow that was "the sky". Rusalka.

Three was better than two, and three was a good start to making sure everyone else was okay. Even if he didn't hold much towards them, it was good to see some familiar dogs out there. No matter who they were. In fact, as Rusalka quietly spoke to her sister, he thought for a second and realized that three was nowhere near enough contrary to what he'd thought a second ago -
Adena. Crap. Where was his unofficial sister? If she'd fallen alongside the sled, Nikolai swore he'd jump right down to find her, screw whatever Vireya or anyone else said about it. Adena was his twin sister in every way except biologically and there was no freaking way in hell he'd leave that be.

That was at which point Rusalka's howl pierced the blizard, Vireya's joining a second later. As much as Nikolai didn't care, a second's worth of thinking could definitley have old him that was a pretty good idea. Actually, forget the second. It was a good idea, period. Nikolai joined the howl, not entirely caring that he didn't do it as loud as the sisters' call. It was... daresay he call it effective?

He didn't really want to hope.

Scrambling out of the snow that had accumulated in the brief period - how quickly was this snow falling? - he nodded to Rusalka's and Vireya's instructions. Leader or not, they seemed to know what they were doing, and Nikolai was happy to follow them - even as the knot of uncertainty that had formed once he'd thought about who was missing rather than who was here right now hadn't gone away in the slightest. Hopefully any of he others would have heard the howl.

But clearly Vireya and Rusalka were keeping a clearer head than he was. And Nikolai was solid enough to follow leadership when it made good decisions, no matter who they were. Right now, these were solid decisions and solid ideas. Even though Nikolai wanted to plunge headfirst into the blizzard to find everyone else.

He'd have to hope.

"Understood. I'll try stay close." Nikolai abandoned his idea to run headfirst into the snow. Even as his thoughts returned to who was still out there and he had no idea where.

In fact, he almost missed Nikita silently turning up.

"Nikita!" Nikolai started in suprize, giving her a prefunctory nod before looking away. Contrary to what he'd usually do, he didn't say much more than that, being hardly able to see her anyway - he concentrated on trying to defeat rhe snow and wind while following Vireya and Rusalka.

It was a bit of a fruitless batttle against the elements, but he'd try.

Zira | F | Team Dog | Mentions: Vireya, Rushalka, Nikolai & Nikita (dir), The Team (ind)
~
Pushing her way forward against the harsh wind and dense snow, her ears pinned back, and her eyes squinted. Everything looked the same, which was infuriating. With the white-out conditions, she couldn't tell up from down. Zira was beginning to think she'd never find her teammates, when she stepped into an old track, pushing her nose into the snow till it felt numb she managed to pick up faint traces of a familiar scent. 'Oh thank goodness' she thought to herself, at least someone else was alive and moving.
Just as she picked her head up to scan the area a howl sounded over the wind, Rushalka, relief flooded her system as she not only heard the she-dog's call but also registered it was close by. Spotting what looked like dark shapes in the distance she pushed herself through the snow, following the snowed-in tracks left behind. Two more voices joined the call making Zira pick up her pace, one she was all too happy to hear. 'Nikolai, good he was okay'.
.
As she neared the group Zira almost ran straight into Nikita, who she wouldn't have seen without the darker spots in the older female's coat. Looking in front of her she was able to identify the sisters and her friend, even if she wasn't all that familiar with the sisters, their leadership was most welcome. Zira fell in step beside Nikolai, dipping her head to him with a concerned look. His sister didn't seem to have been spotted yet, likely the reason he seemed to be a tad out of it. Glancing around them as she followed the group, Zira worried about where the others were. She was sure the wheel dogs behind her had made it, but where were the lead dogs?
She frowned angling her head down to pull at the remaining harness straps that clung uncomfortably to her form, most of it seemed to have been ripped when the sled went down. But yet pieces still remained, along with her blue collar, the nametag clinking softly in the wind.

Atlas

Mentions: The Team (ind.)

═══════ ≪ ✦ ≫ ═══════

Atlas used his broad chest to plow through the thick snow, feeling slower and slower with the snow consistently latching onto the ends of his fur. Even his eyes were getting obscured. It was getting ridiculous. At this rate, he was turning into a snowdog - the only thing he's missing is a carrot for a nose and a tophat. Good grief. Atlas loves the cold, the snow, and exploring, but this was ridiculous! How is he supposed to see in this crap?!

Atlas paused, standing there for a few seconds to catch his breath with the snowflakes ruthlessly showering down on him, turning him into a mini mountaintop. Atlas freed himself from the snowy coating with one annoyed shake, then kept trudging forward. "I have to go see if the others are okay," He grumbled as his eyes tried to see through the thick veil of snowfall. "Master didn't...," he paused, not wanting to say that word now with the wound still fresh. A sigh of defeat left him, his once graceful steps feeling heavier by the moment. Atlas looked over his shoulders, hoping to catch his musher following behind him, but all he saw was, you guessed it, more snow.

Atlas scoffed, his ears drooping as he looked forward, pushing his legs past the limit to breach through the ground that was steadily making a climb to his chest. "I love the snow, but this is to damn much." Atlas groused. "When I asked for it, I didn't mean this much!" He spoke in a forced whisper, masking his frustration to prevent a potential avalanche from happening. That's something he doesn't want: even more snow. Did he die and go to eternal snow purgatory? At this point, he's starting to believe that might be the case, as there are no other living souls in the area.

Just snow...more snow...snow...and snow.

This was driving him mad! If people go crazy from dehydration and the heat of deserts, what are the side effects of a blizzard for a dog who can handle the cold? Flurry fury with a touch of snowfall resentment? Yeah, because that's what he's feeling now. He's growing weary of seeing, walking, and breathing in the frozen air. Now he's envious of the dogs living in the tropical climates, oh, how he loathed them so. Although he can't handle the heat, he'll just be happy with being able to see...something. The ocean, as he pants for cooler air. Playing in the sand, despite being fried like an egg. Enjoying the clear skies while suffocating on the humidity.

Sounds like paradise. Better than whatever wintry punishment this was.
