Yes, but today is Winter 2, tomorrow is winter 3, so technically in two days the pups will be 2 years old as wolves age Spring 1

Lovo,
I'm currently exploring so I haven't checked out your pack den.
You could probably find a cheap male to make Alpha if you really wanted your stud to continue breeding.
But it's just a suggestion.

Hey, West Coast Americans.

Hope y'all are doin' okay with the earthquakes down here.

I'm in Sacramento, but I didn't feel anything, interestingly enough.

Remember to duck and cover when it starts shaking, and don't forget your pets! They'll have varying reactions, so now's a good time to figure out your emergency plan with your pets.

Wishing you guys well, and hope they stop soon!

Over here where I am, it’s about 7.1. I’m pretty close to the epicenter
It’s getting really scary with all the shaking, some cups, plates and bowls fell down from some of the higher cupboards. My dog was also freaking out about three minutes before the actual quake, can the sense them?

There were two major shocks, I believe. The 6.x foreshock, and the mainshock 7.1 that just made the news.

I don't really think it's can be considered "sensing". They just detect specific earthquake waves that we can't physically feel.

Regarding earthquakes, there's two types of waves: primary and secondary waves.

P-waves are compressional waves that travel faster than s-waves. They don't shake the earth, they compress (push and pull) the earth like sound waves. So presumably, these are the waves your animals could sense.

S-waves are the waves we feel. When everything starts rolling or shaking, that's your S-wave. By the time these secondary waves hit, earthquake's here.

Here's a pretty good runthrough on earthquakes, if you're willing to read it all: http://www.geo.mtu.edu/UPSeis/waves.html

Yeah... I'm just hiding in my bed with the bunk bed over me. Luckily it's sturdy. I have my dog and a laptop. Good to go! XD

I'm not in California, but I was only a few miles away from the Alaskan earthquake epicenter in November.
How are your houses?

Edit: how far away from the epicenter was the closest town?

California's got an urban sprawl problem, so there was probably a town somewhere in there. There were structure fires and some injuries.

Considering people as far as Vegas could feel it, I wouldn't be surprised if something in L.A. broke.

Ooh. Yikes.

That's the nice thing about Alaska. Our buildings are built for earthquakes, so we usually don't get to many fires and injuries.

Well, I hope you guys get a nice, shake free night sleep. It can be pretty scary when there's a big shake and you are tangled up in your sheets :/

Same. California also has building codes, considering the San Andreas fault cuts through the entire state. xD

Alaska has the fortune that it doesn't have too many people and large buildings, so it's much easier to rebuild.
