I know I'm not an expert at horse anatomy and shading, but I'd love to offer what I do know to help others!
One thing to remember is always use a ref when starting out. You can find amazing stock images on DeviantArt, and you can use them as long as you credit the owner.
Below I'll put some examples of sketches I've done, feel free to use them as reference as long as you credit me!
