Something strange is happening in a small town in the north of Messien.
For years the land of Messian has been like any other; humans colonize places with good conditions; soil for farming, lakes and oceans for fishing, deer herds for game; humans have claimed it all.
But when humans went further north where only the rare summer day is warm they learned that they weren't the only creatures looking for homes.
The shifters had been running from the humans since the dawn of time; Wars had been waged between the creatures that could shift from human to animal and humans contentiously growing numbers. The Humans always won; they had larger armies and smaller hearts; forcing the shifters to turn to a life of running and hiding. When the shifters traveled north to a place where they thought humans would never follow; they never knew humans greed was stronger than their need for warmth and safety.
But when the shifters and the humans met on a cold winter day the humans accepted them. Said that if the shifters protected them from the wild creatures and helped them hunt and gather they wouldn't hunt them down or tell other less accepting humans of their existence. And so a peaceful town was created in the north with humans and shifters alike; each defending and helping the other in any way they could. As the years passed the town stopped having two different peoples; they became one.
They named the town Fellborn; as fell was the old word for fur and the people wanted to honer the shifters and show them that they truly meant no harm.
Five years ago the shifters secret was spread to the other human colonies. Some say a visiting merchant saw one of the younger shifters turn into their animal form; others think that a villager that wasn't fond of shifters told someone from another village; either way strangers are appearing saying they are here to cleanse the town of its curse.
Will you be able to protect the town, human and shifter alike, from these strangers?

2. I will give you three chances before kicking you, whether it be because of rudeness, inactivity, or failure to follow the rules.
3. Reservations will only last 48 hours, I will PM you when it ends.
4. I have the right to decline any sign ups, though I hope not to.
1. Cursing is allowed, but please keep it to a minimum.
2. This is a semi-lit to literate roleplay, I expect 5+ sentences at least. I will be watching post size. 5 sentences is about 100 words, which even with writers block isn't too hard to write, so please always try to keep it at 100 words or more.
3. This is an active roleplay as well, please be able to post at least three times a week. I will PM you if I notice inactivity without warning.
4. I decide when the days pass and what the weather is.
5. Hate the character, not the player.
6. PM me if you no longer wish to be in the RP, and we can figure something out.
7. Later in the RP the hunters/strangers will attack/capture or at least try too; these attacks may end in death if you wish it.
8. You can have your characters get hurt during random events, like falling and breaking something, or a sprained ankle.
9. Romance is of course allowed, but if anything serious happens
please skip through and keep it PG 13. 10. If your character gets in a fight make sure the other player is okay with this, especially if you plan on getting your character hurt/killing them off. 11. I also do expect proper spelling; small mistakes that happen every once in a while is okay, but it cant be every single post.
In the peaceful village of Fellborn humans and shifters alike live together in harmony. Or did at least. Now Strangers, Hunters, are appearing in this small town, all with the goal of ridding the world of the shifters curse. Will the shifters be able to save themselves and their world? or are they doomed to die at the hands of man? Join the RP to find out!
In the peacefull town of Fellborn the tensions are rising. Fellborn isn't like any normal town; it has humans, yes.; but it also has shifters.
After something happened to reveal this towns secret humans from different towns, cities and colonies are appearing; each with the goal to rid Fellborn of its 'curse'.
These people were known as the Strangers; but now it seems Hunters is a much better name as they've started hunting the shifters. Now every shifter has to keep their identity a secret; those that were in their human forms when the hunters arived can still shift when safe, but those that were animals? they're not so lucky.
The Hunters made every 'human' sign their name and if a new person appears without the proper badge of a Hunter or merchant they are deemed a shifter and imprisoned; so those that were in their animal form when the hunters arived better stay that way; or else they may just loose their life.
Can the people of Fellborn stop the Hunters and save the shifters or are they all doomed?

Messien is a large and long continent with deserts and jungles to the south and tundras and pine forests to the north with any kind of terrain in between. But we're not going to travel the entire continent in this roleplay; we're staying in the small town of Fellborn which is a very small northern town.
Fellborn is the only known town with shifters living in it; the only known town to have shifters at all. The terrain around Fellborn is quite diverse for its usually cold climate; the pine, oak and birch forests are filled with diverse plant and animal life, deer, squirrels, wolves, bears, elk, moose, foxes, ducks, geese, fish; any animal that can survive in cold climates makes its home in this land. The forests are all to the south and east of Fellborn while the west has a large lake where the other sides are all but visible; to the north is a large hilly grassland that slowly turns to tundra and mountains, other than this north Fellborn is quite flat. Fellborn itself is built right on the coast of the lake which is creatively named The Fellborn Lake, which makes it a fishing village; though when it freezes over in the winters the large game herds are an amazing source of food and money.
The houses are all made of stone and wood, very few live in huts. Some shifters may sleep outside at night in thier animal forms but this is dangerous if they aren't one of the hidden. There isn't any guest housing so all the hunters have makeshift tents on the outskirts of Fellborn.
Speaking of seasons, Fellborn is cold almost all year round; in the winters The Fellborn Lake freezes over and snow blankets the land till spring, snowstorms are very common at these times. The spring season is slightly warmer; the snow melts soon enough and the lake thaws though you'd be smart to keep your jackets on and fires burning; especially at night. The summer has a couple days where its warm enough to take off your fur cloaks and just wear simple shirts; but still the winds are cold and the rains a force to be reckoned with. The fall carries on the summers rains and cold winds; though the rain can turn to hail and snow rather quickly.

Humans are as you can guess normal humans; but as this is a medieval RP there can't be any unnatural eye/hair colors, nor dyes and contacts. Clothing is also mainly medieval, you can get creative with it of course and you don't have to follow the dress code of actual medieval times; but T-shirts, denim, sneakers and other stuff are not acceptable clothing. We cannot start the roleplay without a couple humans; and I know they're not as interesting as shifters but they are an important part of the story. Humans can be any age.
Shifters have two forms, their human form which has the same rules as humans, no cat eyes or unnaturally colored eyes/hair. The thing that makes shifters special is that they can turn into any ONE animal. These cannot be mythical animals but other than that go wild; even though the story takes place in the cold north you can have a shifter that can turn into a fennec fox or parakeet though these would be less common. And I'm saying this again but even if your character has one parent that can turn into a fox and another that can turn into a wolf they can only inherit one of these; there's no turning into two different animals. Animals are also realistic; no colors that wouldn't belong to their species. One thing I am allowing are things like lockets or braided in feathers as this would be a way to differentiate animal from shifter. Shifters get their ability to shift when they turn 12; doesn't matter if they were born animal or human. Domestic animals like cats and dogs are accepted but please note that specific breeds probably don't exist yet. Shifters can be any age.
The mayor is the leader of the townspeople; they make the major decisions and always have the final say. They are most likely good friends with the shifter chief and are older than 25. The mayor cannot be a shifter.
The Shifter chief is a shifter who was chosen as the leader of the shifters and they are probably close friends with the mayor. They have to be a shifter obviously, but they can be younger as there is the possibility of the hunters finding the older chief and they voted on their child; but please no younger than 18.
The lead hunter is the leader of the hunters; kinda states that in the name. The lead hunter is a human and can't have a dark secret of actually being a shifter. They are in charge of the hunters and are most likely disliked by the towns people because they were the ones that started the hunts in the first place. The leader should be 25 or older but I might make an exception.
The hunters are of course human; they cannot be a secretive shifter. These are trained fighters who most likely have a grudge against shifters or were forced into it by family... or just really want to hurt shifters. Hunters can be any age. And yes, a romance between hunter and shifter is allowed.
Towns people are humans of any age with and without shifting abilities; most are game hunters, fishers, smiths, butchers, cooks, carpenters, seamstresses, farmers and any medieval job or occupation is open really, this is just something to add to their skills and hobbies. Shifters belong to the towns people as well, which means they have jobs just like everyone else; though they are more commonly the guards, scouts and hunters. The people can be any age.
Hidden shifters are the shifters that were in their animal form when the hunters first arrived, and as the hunters had every 'human' list their names and eye/hair color any new person without the badge of a Hunter or merchant is deemed a shifter and imprisoned/executed. Which means it would be smart to stay as an animal except in the most dire of circumstances.
If your character has two shifter parents they inherited one of the parents forms; they don't get a completly random one and they do not get both. If your character had one human and one shifter parent they have a 50/50 chance of inheriting the shifting powers or being human.

1. this is a realistic roleplay; no unnatural hair/eye colors; tribal tattoos are allowed.
2. this is also a medieval RP so no modern clothing like denim/jeans and sneakers
3. LGBTQ+ is accepted and supported
4. You can make as many characters as you can handle but try to not make them all shifters.
5. There will be no romance between two of your own characters; it just excludes others.
6. be descriptive and try to use 5+ sentences when describing your characters appearances and personalities.
7. characters can have one special skill (hunting, farming, fishing, fighting)
8. characters must have at least three strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes.
9. put your favorite animal in other.
10. characters cannot shift into more than one animal. 11. no Mary/Gary sues.
12. you only need one good roleplay example; feel free to link it. 13. role is what occupation your character has, mayor, chief, leader, farmer, hunter, fisher etc.
14. please be active and let me know if you will have to leave for a while; no signing up and not appearing.
15. please no pre-determined romantic relationships, let them develop in the RP 16. please keep genders and roles as even as possible! 17. I know we wont be able to have enough characters to fill out an entire village so NPC family members and towns people can exist. 18. if your character is a Hidden shifter please put that in role. 19. If your role is a hunter for the towns people please put Game hunter so there is no confusion between the two hunting roles. 20. Shifters part of the village just as much as the humans; they have jobs and roles as well, please don't forget this!

Appearance Sam is on the taller side, standing at 6'2 with a lean muscular build and dark brown hair. He has gray hazel eyes; amber brown circling his pupil while the rest is a gray giving him a mysterious appearance. His eyes are framed by thick eyelashes and bushy dark brown eyebrows. Sam keeps his hair at medium length, he's never really liked cutting it but long hair gets in the way; so medium length with a slightly wavy texture. He is usually found in a sleeveless brown tunic with leather cuffs and an aged white under shirt; his trousers are made of a loose brown cloth and he wears expensive looking leather boots with white fur lining. His winter cloak looks a hundred years old with its worn cloth and white fur trim. Though he is lean he isn't the fastest; strength is more his talent.
Animal Arctic wolf
Animal Appearance Unlike real arctic wolves he has the same light gray hazel eyes as in his human appearance; he is taller than the average wolf of his species, standing at 2'7 at the shoulders with a length of five feet from nose to tail. He has a pitch black nose and a glossy cream-white pelt that blends with the snow perfectly. And just like in his human form he is a lean well muscled wolf that is strong but not the fastest.
Personality Sam is very much just a big goofy guy around friends, he teases them -especially his sister- always has a joke ready and always smiling. He's quite friendly and open to talking to strangers though it does take a while for him to actually trust you. One thing he cannot do is read expressions unless there's obvious signs like yelling or crying; there could be a serous conversation and he doesn't get it so he cracks one of his stupid jokes... though he isn't dull its more his shield always being happy and taking little seriously. Though his smiles are genuine the death of his parents is always a cloud hanging above his head. The few times he lets his shield of jokes down is in life threatening situations, if anyone is hurt, being hurt, or they have to flee he comes rational and smart, he always has quite a bit of confidence but when in his rational mood he becomes a true leader.
Special Skill He was a talented tracker even before he got his shifting abilities.
Strengths Tracking Hunting Stamina Strength
Weaknesses Speed Swimming Heat His Sister (though he would never admit it) Reading the room
Likes Good jokes
His friends Running through the snow Hunting
Dislikes Loud noises The Hunters Hot summer days Annoying people

Appearance Compared to her brother Nyx is tiny and skinny; though she is 5'4, the average height for a girl she always feels short around her brother. Like Sam she has hazel eyes but the brown around her iris is more of a golden brown with the outside iris being a soft green. Her hair is thick and wavy with golden brown coloring that shimmers an actual golden tone in the summer sun. Her face is soft and round with an average nose and lips and thick, long eyelashes. Her eyebrows are thick like her brothers but besides being bushy they're defined. She has quite the curvy figure as well, most think she's just this weak pretty girl; and she may not be the strongest, but she has enough muscles. She just hides them with her baggy clothing. Speaking of clothing used to steal her brothers clothes, making her family give up on trying to make her wear dresses so now she wears a loose brown blouse with a white undershirt and a leather strap across her chest where a quiver can be attached. She wears leather vambraces where her right one extends into an arrow glove. She has simple brown cotton trousers that may be a bit baggy; a leather belt and leather white fur lined boots. Like her brother she has an ancient cotton cloak with white fur; though her's has a couple owl feathers braided in.
Animal Snowy Owl
Animal Appearance Finyx's owl appearance is just like any snowy owl; white feathers tipped with black in a beautiful pattern. Her eyes are larger and rounder than the average snowy owl giving her a cuter softer look, they also have a golden brown coloring like the ring around her pupils in her human form. She is 25" long from head to tail feathers with a wing span of 60 inches.
Personality Nyx is probably one of, if not the, the most stubborn person you will ever meet. She has a very sarcastic and sharp sense of humor and commonly raised her brows when she hears something stupid, which she follows with her teasing remarks. Unlike her brother Nyx prefers to be alone and enjoy nature though she is no stranger to speaking her mind and getting in trouble for it. Looking at this girl that commonly gets rips and tears in her clothes and dirt on her face you wouldn't think she's very vain? in a way she isn't; she's proud of her scars and doesn't mind getting dirty, but in formal events she would put on a dress and make sure she looks as close to perfect as she can get. She's more serious than her brother and can read emotions like a book which makes her usually the one reeling in her brother before he says something stupid. Though she seems mature around friends she's as much as a goof as her brother; it just takes a while to get past her wall and gain her trust.
Special Skill Since she was young she'd always had a fascination with Bows and arrows; making her quite the master of archery at her young age.

Appearance Core is tall and skinny, and family members say he has a thick skull; though he is much stronger than he looks. He stands at 6'2 and has straight raven black hair that falls around his face reaching to his shoulders, though he pulls the top part away from his face with a string. His eyes look like two amber stones with endless back holes in the center, and have different shades in different lights, making them almost look like balls of fire. He has a long slim and bony nose that he inherited from his father, his eyes are narrow with almost no eyelashes and his cheekbones are quite sharp. Core has a strong jawline with thin tight pressed lips with very little color. He is usually found in a white cotton shirt, brown cloth trousers, a leather belt with a sword sheath and boots lined with bear fur; he also wears a cloak from his father that is said to have the fur of a shifter from the first wars.
Personality Core is very cold and doesn't appreciate humor. Since he was young he was trained to hunt shifters; his father used to be one of the Hunter leaders till a sickness took him on a cold winter night; some say this is when Corian fully lost his heart, others say that was when part of his heart came back. Either way Corian was never allowed to play and have fun like other children, since the day he could walk he was trained by a harsh father with a grudge. Personally Core doesn't have a grudge against shifters. But he always feels like his father is watching, so he does what he was told. Hunt. He doesn't like talking to anyone, human and supposed shifter alike; he just does what he's told and looks for shifters. Though he doesn't talk much, when he does he's always searching for a secret, speculating what the person could be hiding, and he does this very well. Core doesn't much emotion either, though he is amazing at reading emotions; liars better be wary around him.
