It was midday on a Saturday. A day he made sure every week was his day off, and he was in his casual wear as he had just gotten out of bed and was in a small Cafe. He ordered a large black coffee and a banana muffin. Taking a seat in the back of the shop, where no camera or eyes could see what he was doing, he pulled out his laptop. After putting in his three passwords he was going threw his finances. He always thought it funny he was trusted with tens of thousands of dollars and so many different paychecks. He also knew that one mistake with it ment every one of those people on his fathers doorstep. So even on his day off he gave it a look over, just to be certain. Just as he finished his muffin he decided it all looked as it should and he closed out of it and left. He gave a yawn and put the laptop back in his backpack and left the shop.
He decided to do what he loves most and headed to the boardwalk where his boats and dock where. The water was calm and he looked out. With a decisive nod he hoped on the docked boat and changed into swimshorts and left his bookbag there. Hopping out again he opted for the jet ski. Smaller, faster, easier to get launched in the air. He turned the key and the engine started easily. Looking at the indicators it had a full tank of gas. With a smile he cranked the gas and took off.
Davina had been up quite a long time, since around dawn to be more exsct. She had always been an early riser, especially since her father typically had her stake out transaction points during the night, which were normally bars or clubs of some type. Davina always kept to herself, which made it unbelievably easy to over look her. Of course, all of her fathers men knew who she was, but outside of that, not many knew her face. With having been up so early, Davina had hit the water after changing into a two piece wet suit. She was paddling out into the water on her surf board as she heard a jet ski crank up somewhere close down the beach. Hopefully her waves wouldn't be interrupted. Being out on the water was always her time of peace, and she loved trying out new tricks. Plus, it was a lot better to recover from mistakes when no one was around to see you. Davina was happy to see a perfect wave coming her way as she hopped up to her feet and got ready to ride out the wave.
Scott had been skiing for a while and making waves far out from the beach, just chilling and doing his thing. He had noticed how far out from the beach he had gotten and slowed to a stop. The water being calm enough to just rock the jet ski with the current. He turned it off and kicked back and relaxed. He knew where he was, the patterns the water followed so it was safe. He opened up a compartment that had an anchor and got an idea to get closer to shore so he could anchor and swim around in the deep waters for a bit.
He turned on his ski again and halved his distance from shore. The waves where just forming here, giving him just enough current to work against to be fun, but just challenging enough. He dropped turned off the ski again, dropped the anchor and hopped in. The water was cool and refreshing against his skin that he forgot to put sunscreen on. But he didn't care if he got burnt, it was worth it. He looked to the shore as he floated on his back and could see the surfers trying to catch waves and the kids playing in the shallows.
Davina surfed through the waves for a while before taking her board to shore so that she could go and actually swim for a while. She was a strong swimmer and knew how to tell if the water was safe, so she was never afraid of deep water. Davina let the waves guide her out to deeper water, but of course not so far she'd tire out on the way back to shore. She could see the jet ski she'd heard earlier close to her and she hoped she wasn't coming up too close on anyone. She didn't want to get in anyone's space since she knew how she was sometimes when she wanted to swim alone. Davina had also been sure to use enough sunscreen as her fair Irish skin would be no match to the hot sun. She'd be as red as a lobster if she didn't use it. She couldn't see any person at first, but as she drifted a bit closer towards the jet ski, she could see a man floating on his back. He seemed rather relaxed and she couldn't blame him. It was hot and the water was nice and cool, which felt absolutely amazing. Davina just treaded water happily, though she hated that it wouldn't be long before she'd have to go.
Scott kept floating there. His eyes half closed as he controlled his breath to stay afloat. He could hear the water around him. Fish farther out occasionally jumping. The warmth of the sun on his face, chest, and legs. And the cold of the ocean on his back. Just infinite comfort the way he was. He controlled where the water took him, and he chose to go in circles around the jet ski, not wanting to drift to far from it. He knew which side of the jet ski he was on because a small shadow would hit his face occasionally as he went around. Then it would disappear, only to come back a few minutes later.
At some point he thought he heard splashing near by but thought it was just a fish who had gotten curious so he didn't bother to look. But as time went on the slight splashing continued. Eventually it pretty close, closer then 5 feet. He stopped floating amd started treading the water and looking around. It didn't take long to figure out what, or who; was causing the small amount of splashing. A red headed chick who had swam all the way from shore over to him. He looked at her and then swam over to his jet ski. He didn't want to be completely rude, but was also hesitant. Why would she swim all the way out here? Eventually his curiosity got the better of him. He reached out a hand to her, offering her a ride. "I can take you back to shore, or a dock if you want." His voice was deep, but still friendly enough.
