"Greetings Oaken" Steven dipped his head, "Hi!" Enara yapped, Steven glared at his childish sister, "Ignore her she's nuts" Steven advised, but Enara took her chance and knocked him over, "Enara, enough, I don't want to acciendently hurt you" Steven shoved her off. Enara's tail drooped, "I can handle it!" she insisted, Steven shook his head and sat up.

Oaken chuckled as the tussled. "Please, call me Oak. I only get called Oaken by the elders, you know, the ones who use your full name." She glanced sideways at the rabbit, which looked delicious. Holding her head high, she turned away, towards the food stash. "I'm going to get something to eat. See you later, Enara." Oak said, as she began walking to the foodstash. I wonder why they waste time playing when they could be training, or hunting for the pack. Even Steven might be able to catch a slow rabbit.

Steven flicked his ears, he wanted to hunt, he wanted to catch something for his pack. He padded off into the woods, there was a rustle, and he tasted the air. He caught scent of a buck, she found a tunnel through the brush, and he leaped onto it's back, he bit into it's neck and used his hind claws to score down it's back, it bucked and tried to get him off, the antlers flailed, but the buck started to weaken, and soon it dropped down, and the antler stabbed Steven through the chest. He yelped and howled as loud as he could, he panted, I shouldn't waiste my breath.. who knows, each breath could be my last. The buck was huge, it was surely a two wolf job at least to kill a deer that size, Steven thought of how proud his sister would be, maybe even Oak. He rasped, and clawed himself off the antler and scrambled to his paws, he was losing blood from the wound, but he dragged the deer back. he left it in the pile and turned to see a trail of blood leaving to him, and he fell down unconcious.

Oak had been chewing on a large rabbit, the last leg bit was the leanest. Glancing over to her side, she saw a wolf dragging a large buck to the food stash. Dropping it from his jaws, he turned, staggered a step, and collapsed. A trail of blood followed him as the red liquid spilled from his chest. She suppressed an eye roll as she leapt up, wondering how he could have hurt himself so. Running over, she sniffed over the bloody body. It was Steven, and he had a hole in his chest, where the blood was coming from. Seizing him by his scruff, she lifted him and began walking sideways towards the healers den. His limp legs dragged on the ground, as she couldn't lift him completely. Enara rushed over and grabbed the other side of him, and they lifted him higher. Stepping into the healers den, Oak gently set the bloody wolf down. The healer, Flume, began hurriedly checking him over. "Do you know what happened to him?" The healer questioned, and the two females shook their head. "No." Oak said, "He was putting a large buck on the foodstash when he collapsed. I think he may have been hurt fighting it." Flume nodded and turned around, grabbing some herbs. "Oak, I need you to get me some chamomile." She nodded, turning and leaping out of the den. "And some poppy seed!" Flume called after her. As she ran towards the small area where they grew herbs, she wondered what had happened to Steven. Snatching the basil and poppy seeds, she hurried back. The healer was applying some sort of red potion to the chest wound, with Enara watching closely with a worried expression. Dropping the basil and seeds, she sat to the side. For some reason, she didn't want to leave, at least not yet. "Will he be alright?" Enara asked, as Flume grabbed the basil to grind. "I don't know yet, but he will live." The healer replied hastily. The alpha male ducked his head in. He registered the scene in an instant, and glanced at Oak. The alpha was fairly young, having recently become alpha after the passing of his mother. His father had retired, leaving his son to become leader. However, he did not have a mate yet, leaving many young females wondering who he would pick. Oak, however, did not care for the young alpha. "Oak, what happened?" He asked her. She glanced at him for a moment. "I'm not sure. He was bringing a big buck back when he collapsed. I brought him here with Enara." The alpha nodded. "Thank you. You are a valuble member of our pack." He said, then left. Oak turned her attention to the hurt male, who was slowly coming to. Flume pushed some of the poppy seeds into his mouth, and helped him chew.

Steven's vision was blurred as he slowly opened his eyes. He winced at the sharp sting of the chamomile Flume pressed into his wound, he glanced around the den, "Nara?" He asked, looking at his sister through blurred vision. "Steven!" Enara howled, alerting the others that her brother was ok. Enara sniffed the wound, "No sign of infection" she announced. "How do you know?" Steven rasped, tilting his head to one side with curiosity. "I've started traing with Flume!" Enara yapped, about to pounce playfully on her brother, Steven swatted her down mid-jump. He growled to silence her, and pointed with his snout for her to leave. Enara sadly nodded, her tail between her legs and her ears pressed back to the sides of her head. "Wait, Enara.." He called after her, she turned back, happy to be with her brother again. "Who do you think the Alpha's gonna pick?" Steven prompted. "Me! I think he's super cute! I like him.. I hope he likes me" Enara burst. Steven laughed, "Go tell him" He advised, Enara nodded and sprinted out of the den. She ran into the Alpha's den, "Umn." she began, sitting and shuffling her paws nervously, "I- I really like you Shadow" Enara told the alpha male, determined for the answer she was looking for.

Oak watched the two interact playfully, then Enara left to talk with Shadow, the alpha. Chuckling, she wondered why the female liked him so much. He wasn't anything very special, except for being alpha. "Ae you feeling better, Steven?" She asked, wondering how bad he was hurt. "You collapsed after leaving that buck in the foodstash. Why were you going after such large prey? You know it takes at least two to bring down a deer that size." Oak said, lifting an eyebrow. Flume was about to put a green paste on another cut on his back, which would probably sting a lot. A slight pain in her stomach jabbed at her, then receded. She winced slightly, but ignored it. It was probably a stomahache, nothing to worry about.

Steven nodded, when Flume applied the poltice on his wound his senses growled at him, he didn't wince because Oak was looking and he didn't want to seem like a whimp in front of her, "Yes I'm okay, If not for you I'd still be out there" Steven silently gazed into her eyes, then glanced away a couple seconds later, "I went after it for the pack, it was stupid of me, I realise now" He laughed, "Quite funny how Enara's padding after Shadow, even though he's not the brightest star in the sky" Chase whispered so only Oak could hear him.

(Chase?) Oak nodded, an amused smile on her face. "Yes, nor is he the hardest fighter in the woods. I don't know what she sees in him- besides his rank." She yawned slightly, then stood. Shaking out her brown pelt, she turned towards the entrance. Energy coursed through her and she stepped out of the den without a backwards glance. Stretching, she wondered where she would hunt that day.

Steven watched her go, and stood shakily, he padded out to see if Enara had any luck. Shadow looked suprised at Enara's sudden affection, "I.. I don't know what to say Enara" he gasped, "I'll have to think" He murmered, but pressed himself against her momentarily, before waving his tail for her to leave him. Enara dipped her head and padded out. "How'd it go?" Steven asked. "Fine I guess, he said he'll need to think. I mean, if he likes me he likes me, if not then not! He shouldn't need to think" Enara huffed, plopping down.

Oak trotted out of the camp, feeling the warm sun on her back. Heading north, towards the mountains, she focused on the forest ahead. Something jabbed at her somach again and she winced. Scenting the air, she smelled rabbit. Narrowing her eyes, she glanced to the right. A rabbit was moving through the woods slowly, and Oak had her target. Creeping slightly closer, she pushed hard on her hind legs, leaping high. Adjusting her posture slightly in midair, she came down hard on the rabbit. It squealed and tried to move away, but she slammed a powerful paw down on its neck, killing it cleanly. Sniffing the air again, she caught another scent. Swiftly burying it, Oak looked around. She caught a glimpse of a wolf, moving towards her. Getting into a defensive position, she watched it come closer. Wary, she snarled, her muscles rippling.
