Queen Syndia seemed to notice the angry glimmer in the Prince of Hell's eyes, and moved to diffuse the situation. She had, in fact, researched the two other kingdoms, and noticed the absence of the young Princess, but did not mention it.
"It is a honor to be in your presence, as well as the rest of your formidable and powerful family. I certainly want to stay on your good side," she joked, trying to diffuse the tension, "I would also like to apologize to Prince Kanu for the.... attempted murder, on his last visit here. We uncovered the people behind it, and they were swiftly executed. They were working for Shoter, in an attempt to destabilize Hell's rule."
There was a hard cough from the King of the Heavens, who had a very angry and impatient look on his face. Queen Syndia dipped her head once more to her guests from the Underworld, "If you will excuse me, I shall greet the Heavenly party, and then we can all go inside, and begin the meeting."
=+=+=
Sloane admired the patience Queen Syndia held when dealing with the asshole King of the Heavens. She wanted to slap that man all of the time and vocalized it, and Syndia just kept smiling, like he wasn't being an annoying twit.
"Ah, Queen Syndia," the King greeted, once he finally got the attention he had been craving, "I am King Abbadon, this is my beautiful wife, Queen Thana. This is our son, Prince Jydal," Both the King and Queen smiled warmly at him, although there was a taste of bitterness in their words, as they were unable to introduce him as their heir. The King reluctantly gestured towards the actual heir, Sloane, with an annoyed look he didn't even try to hide, "And Princess Sloane, a challenger who fought her way to becoming the heir." Sloane held back a scoff, and looked around. Their steeds had already flown off since they were given permission to do so, and Sloane could spot Gryphem as he tried to approach the other griffin in the sky.
Queen Syndia nodded respectfully to the royals from the Heavens, "Now that we are all introduced," her voice carried far, even though she was not yelling, "Let us go to the Meeting Hall." Once both Kings nodded in confirmation, Queen Syndia turned, and lead the two groups up the long stairway, and into the palace.
...
Out of view, Syndia took a cloth from the sleeve of her dress and dabbed the perspiration on her forehead, thanking any being out there to have survived her first meeting with the temperamental bastards that ruled the immortal realms.

Kanu was rather pleased to hear the new queen address him with his proper title, and he could tell it pissed off his father to no end but nothing would happen to Queen Syndia. Although Kanu wasn't king yet, he had pull on everything his father did, and he made sure to use that pull to get what he wanted and just overall annoy his father. It was one of his favorite things to do, ruin everything his father tried to do.
Odile's wings gently tapped Kanu's, which basically meant to chill the fuck out. Although he wasn't intimidated by Set in the slightest, his mother was someone he would never mess with. No matter how many times he disrespected his father, he was always polite and respectful with his mom. This didn't make him uncomfortable though, he just knew that messing with his mother in the slightest would bring down a world of hurt. Even if he was a grown adult.
Shifters didn't mess around.
Set seemed to be growing impatient as they waited for the introductions to pass. Once it was announced they were going inside, he seemed much happier. It probably had something to do with the absolutely disgusting mild weather of the Overworld. Even Kanu, who came here on a pretty regular basis couldn't get over the easy temperatures. Odile on the other hand, seemed perfectly at ease with the weather. She had been born on this plane, and taken to Hell at a pretty young 6,000 years old. She was used to both the bright sun and the dark depths of the Underworld. Kanu was pretty sure his mother was just perfect, and he hated that that genetic trait hadn't passed down to him.

The Meeting Hall was a grand room, with high ceilings and a rounded table, to keep the rulers of the three realms from fighting to be at it's head. Syndia had wisely created space between the respected rulers. The people who had places at the table were the rulers and their familiars, while the additional people brought along stood, although they were close enough to hear was transpired.
Due to Syndia having no family, she shared the table with the Captain of the Guard, Jhames, who had been her strongest supported and ally while she was leading the Rebellion. He sat beside her, then Jydal, Abbadon, Thana, Sloane, Kanu, Set, Odile, and then one extra chair that was empty.
Syndia introduced Jhames to the group, and gestured for everyone to take their seats. After the traditional formal speech was given, Syndia sat down, placing herself of equal footing, and standing no taller than the rest of them, which she knew would grate on the nerves of both Kings.
Syndia went of to begin to explain how she plans to rule, including a part about making no unwanted marriage alliances. Her hopes were to obtain and keep peace between all three worlds. She had no speech laid out in front of her, yet was filled with poise and elegance, never stuttering for a second, even when Sloane sat back and placed her feet on the table, causing Abbadon's eye to twitch furiously.
Sloane only smirked, keeping her gaze firmly off of Kanu, who was sitting beside her.

Kanu couldn't help but look around, though he'd been here a couple of times, half of those times he'd hardly been sober. Getting drunk was one of his favorite pastimes, and it often made these sorts of things more enjoyable. Unfortunately, his mother had told him that she would prefer him sober at this meeting, and he'd known that it wasn't option. So here he was, as sober as he could possibly be, and already bored to no end.
With a sigh, he plopped down into his chair besides Sloane, his wings disappearing at his command. His mother's elegant wings did the same, though, she looked much more put together than he'd ever be able to achieve. Regardless, he sat there, leaning against the back of his chair with an annoyed expression, a contrast to his mother's thoughtful one and his father's glare. Finally, his gaze turned to Sloane, and he couldn't help but smile at her audacity. As he looked at each person at the table, he just had to lean over slightly and whisper softly in Sloane's ear, doing his best to look as inconspicuous as possible.
"Abbadon looks like he has a stuck up his ass," Kanu paused, humor rising in his voice. "Is your dear king having digestive issues?" Kanu chuckled softly, earning a hard glare from his father and a nod of approval from his mother, who'd probably heard the whole thing with her dragon hearing and all.

Sloane pushed away her twinge of annoyance at Kanu invading her space to listen to his words. She muffled her snort of laughter as a cough, causing another furious twitch in Abbadon's face, and a glint of humor in Jydal's eyes. Sloane turned her head slightly to the side once the attention was off of her, and murmured quietly back to Kanu, "Affirmative to both statements." The expression of dry boredom on Sloane's face didn't even move, although her hands tightened from where she had caustically linked her hands behind her head at the beginning of the meeting.
Although it didn't seem like it, Sloane did actually care about what Syndia had to say, and was, so far, very approving of her path. Sloane had been making mental notes throughout the meeting, and was absorbing all of the information. Unlike Abbandon, though, she had more than two brain cells, and didn't have to give her undying attention to whatever a person was saying, plus have members of his party take notes, so he did not look foolish.

Despite Kanu's immature demeanor, he was listening to Syndia. He had risked quite a lot for her, as had Sloane, and he had been hoping that the risk had been worth it. From what he could understand, it had, as she seemed to be a just, fair ruler. One who ruled not with just a cruel mind, like her brother had, but with a gentle heart as well. He truly hoped that she lived long enough to see peace settle over her people. Granted, with his father around, peace was rather temporary.
Kanu was pleased with Sloane's reaction, as he'd still felt bad for being an ass the last time he'd seen her. He knew that she hadn't forgiven him, and he didn't expect her to given who she was, but he was happy he could still entertain her without getting her too annoyed. As he was pretty sure just his presence in her near vicinity made her annoyed. Regardless, he was happy that he could joke around at the moment, with the way Set was looking at him, he was pretty sure his mouth would be sewn shut by rn he end of the day.
For once, Kanu didn't actually think his father's annoyance was entirely his fault, in fact, he was pretty sure his father was annoyed for a whole different reason. As his gaze kept returning to the empty chair besides Kanu's mother. Rue's inability to appear had obviously struck a nerve with Set, despite the fact that Kanu had specifically told him that Rue may not be able to make an appearance at all. Given the fact that Set hardly ever listened to Kanu, he was pretty sure Set hadn't been paying attention at all, and that he had forgotten about Rue's condition. So Set was more pissed at Rue than anyone else. Though Kanu's attitude definitely was making it worse.

Sloane appreciated that Kanu didn't make any other remarks. Yes, she would engage in teasing Abbandon, with small jokes or remarks, but she did want to pay attention, and not be totally sidetracked. Some of the frustrated tension left Sloane's shoulders, although she overall did not seem to be any more at peace.

Of course, yes. I can't wait!! Hehehehehe))
~
The meeting was going as well as Kanu had suspected, that meaning that Set was butting in whenever he could and his mother was rolling her eyes at everything her husband did. Though, a sharp glare from Set eventually stopped the eye rolling altogether. A simple glare did not prevent Kanu from speaking though, and once in awhile, he'd ask a question or two to Syndia. For once, Kanu was actually taking this seriously and would speak to her in a respectful manner, well, as respectful as Kanu could be. Whatever the reason, he was actually being smart for once, though he did make a few, snide comments towards Set when the man stepped a little too far over the invisible boundaries of respect and disrespect.
The tension had begun to rise when the door opened, revealing a human knight, whose voice was raised in pitch due to his reasonable fear with walking into a room full of immortals. The man rushed over to Syndia, his eyes wildly tracing over everyone in the room before he leaned over and spoke quietly in her ear. Of course, Kanu and his mother could still hear his whispers, and the cracks in his voice. "M'lady, the Princess of Hell is here, she wishes to be let in. May I present her? Or would you rather her wait till this meeting is adjourned?" The knight twitched nervously, sending hurried glances at the table full of deadly people. Especially Set, who glared at him fiercely.
Outside the doors, Rue fumbled nervously with her wings, her trusty guard Rhian watching her with a face full of concern. "We should not have come, the meeting was probably about to end, there isn't any reason for us to be here Rhian." Rue glanced nervously up at the rising moon, back down to Rhian, who gave her a reassuring smile. "Rue, you have to at least introduce yourself to the new Queen, if you introduce yourself at least once, King Set," he said the word as if it was the most vile thing he could think of, "won't expect you to appear again." Rhian finished off with a flourish, and his words did indeed ring true in Rue's mind, that did not stop her worry though.
"I understand that, but father will be angry regardless and I don't want him more mad at me than he already is. He already hates me," Rue wrapped her arms around herself comfortingly, "I don't want to worsen his mood even more." Rhian released a heavy sigh at Rue's words, and gently pushed her white hair out of her face. "Do not fear little flower, I will do my best to protect you, as will your brother, Prince Kanu. You know that he would never allow anything to happen to you, and he will block your father's anger with all he has. Don't worry, we'll be in and out before you know it." Rhian gave Rue another reassuring smile, and this time, she allowed herself to relax, her wings going back to their original face instead of shielding her face.

Syndia leaned back in her chair, listening as the young knight informed her of the situation. She rested a comforting hand on his arm for a moment, and smiled, gently, while speaking quietly, as to not let the others at the table know what was occurring, "There is no reason to keep the Princess out. I do believe that being in the sunlight harms her, so I am not surprised for the late arrival. Please, reassure her she will be welcomed by Earth happily." At the end, Syndia's gaze shot across the table, meeting Kanu and Odile's briefly, her sharp eyes saying 'I kmow you heard that.'
Syndia's eyes tracked the knight as she walked to the door, and stood up, turning her attention to the table, "It has come to my attention that the Princess of Hell, Rue Akmad, has arrived. Her late arrival was expected, and excused, so please, let us welcome her, then continue on about the meeting."
The empty chair was beside Syndia, which was indeed on purpose. She had also placed a person (Odile, who was strong and terrifying, and should probably be ruling Hell) between Rue and Set, as centuries of rulers have told of the especially strained relationship between Set and his daughter.

The knight calmed under Syndia's steady hand, and soon the tension left his body, though he still looked relatively nervous. Queen Syndia was loved by the knights for her caring, kind nature, which was much different than the previous tyrannt's and they all truly appreciated it. She had earned their loyalty quickly enough, and any who opposed her, were ratted out by their companions. No one wanted Shoter's rule to taint the kingdom in his darkness, and they took all the precautions to get those that had been brainwashed by him, out. The knight that was under Queen Syndia's comforting hand trusted her with his life, and was happy that she cared enough about him to try and comfort him in this terrifying situation.
With a nod, he replied quietly, "it will be done m'lady." He gave her a tentative smile before turning around and leaving to give the pretty Princess of Hell the good news. Her reaction was not what he'd expected though, if anything, she looked just as nervous as he'd been to be entering a room full of powerful immortals, and his heart went out to her. Everyone knew about how her father hated her, he just had not realized that it had affected her so.
The knight watched as Rue smoothed her pretty dress, it was light pink, sleeveless and backless, so her gleaming white wings were free to roam. The thigh up had beautiful floral designs in a slightly lighter pink, and a white ribbon was tight around her waist. The dress swished around her feet, hiding the fact that she literally wasn't wearing shoes, she found them confining and unnecessary. Despite her slightly nervous demeanor, she looked like royalty, the knight had to admit. Her personal knight nodded at him, signaling that Princess Rue was ready to enter, and the knight opened the door quickly for her to enter, and after a deep breath, she did.
Kanu's serious expression slowly drifted off his face, replaced by a softer look that easily told that he cared about his sister despite what many thought. His eyes scanned her, and her rapid heartbeat only confirmed what her stiff posture told him, she was nervous. Unlike Odile or Kanu, who hated Set for his passionate anger at anything that breathed, Rue was frightened by her father, and he could see her wings instinctively curling in, trying to hide herself. Once Sir Rhian, her trusty knight, followed her in, she relaxed a little. Rue's eyes finally caught Kanu's, and he gave her a reassuring wink that made the hint of a smile curl her lips while their father glared.
Rue approached Queen Syndia, her head slightly bent as she curtseyed before the human Queen. Kanu was happy with her performance and show of respect, but his father was scowling at his sister. Without thinking about it, he stomped on his father's shoe, quietly of course, but it was enough to anger Set and make him turn to glare at Kanu, who was glaring at him with deadly eyes. "Leave her alone," Kanu hissed under his breath at Set, who said nothing but scoffed at Kanu's audacity.
Even if he had wanted to reply, he never got the chance, as Rue had begun to speak to the Queen in front of her. "Please excuse my tardiness, Queen Syndia, it was never my intent to interrupt this meeting. I only wished to meet the new queen I'd heard so much about. Alas, my condition makes traveling beneath the sun's rays a painful experience and I could not arrive on time. Please, please forgive me, I meant no disrespect." Rue kept her head slightly bent the entire time she spoke, in a sign of respect. She truly was sorry.
Set glared openly at his daughter, his face red with anger. He was absolutely appalled by his daughter's actions, she was practically groveling at this woman's feet! His disgust was obvious, and Kanu's anger slipped boiled beneath the surface, and he did not allow it to show on his face. Set was such an ass, Kanu couldn't fathom how anyone dealt with him without wanting to chop off his royal head.
