Finally, Sky took his hands off the wall, swaying a bit. He immediately tried his best to keep his balance. This dinner was important to Alex, so he was going to try his best to act normal now. When he got home, he could drink more and pass out on the bathroom floor all he wanted, but now, he needed to do this for Alex. "No, I got this. I just hope they don't ask too many questions." Skylar said, starting to walk towards Alex's door. He opened it and made his way to the stairs. Looking down, he internally panicked, but started to go down them slowly. Once he successfully got down them, he turned around to look at Alex.

Alex stood still as he waited for Skylar's answer, watching each move he made as he stood off the wall, noting how he swayed a little while trying to keep his balance. "Okay." He said after a moment's pause, and then he was moving to follow Skylar out of his room. He kept close to him as they walked down the hall, and then as he began to descend the stairs. As he followed after him, he remained ready and prepared to catch him should he show any sign of losing his balance. Unfortunately, despite Skylar's words, Alex didn't doubt that his parents already had their list of questions ready and prepared to ask Skylar the moment they had him cornered at the dinner table. It was one of the reasons he'd been so upset upon realizing that Skylar was drinking. Their relationship had to remain a secret, and he would be lying if he said he wasn't terrified of the possibility that Skylar might say something he shouldn't, thanks to the alcohol. Perhaps he could cut in and answer questions for him, though whether or not his parents would accept his answers, he wasn't sure. For both his and Skylar's sake, he hoped so. ((Sorry this is so poorly written. >.> Kind of distracted at the moment.))

Skylar took a deep breath and mentally prepared himself for the dinner. With the state he was in, unless Alex's parents were really dumb, they would for sure notice there's something wrong. Sky began to think of any excuses he could make. Maybe he wasn't feeling the greatest, or he was on some medication that messed with him and not eating didn't make it any better. Maybe one of them will save his ass, but he doubted it. Not talking would be the best option, but that would be even more disrespectful, and he's been nothing but disrespectful to Alex. Turning the corner to go to the kitchen, his heart jumped out of his chest when he finally saw Alex's parents. He forced a smile on his face and got ready to speak. "Hey, Mrs and Mr Harsfield." Skylar managed quietly.

Alex's mother was just setting the pan with the homemade lasagna on the table when Skylar moved into the kitchen. She looked up upon seeing movement and then hearing Skylar's voice, a warm and friendly smile graced her lips as she looked at him. "Excellent timing. Dinner's just finished." She said as she moved to step around the table and toward Skylar and Alex. "You must be Skylar. Alex has told us a great deal about you." She said, her tone warm and friendly. Alex managed a faint smile at that and threw a glance at where his father was already sitting at the head of the table. He took note of the way he was studying Skylar before standing and extending a hand toward him. "Glad to see Alex making new friends." He said, his voice gruff. Alex found his blue eyes following the movement of his father's hand, his heart jumping into his throat nervously. Swallowing thickly, he glanced toward his mother and then to Skylar.

Skylar slowly walked forward, not testing himself. He then reached out to shake Alex's mother's hand. "Yeah." Sky managed, not taking the risk to speak any further. It may seem a little rude of him, but he thought to use the excuse that he's nervous if they brought it up. Sky then slowly but surely made his way to the dinner table and glanced at Alex. He was unsure of where to sit, so he gave Alex a look while slightly motioning to the seat he was going to sit in. Assuming it was okay, he slowly began to sit down. Relief washed over him once he was sitting, but it was only small. He still had to manage to speak to both of his parents and not seem drunk, which was going to be a challenge.

Alex watched as Skylar and his mom shook hands. Watched her smile warmly and give a nod before she let go and moved to grab the side dishes, and place them on the table. His gaze turned to Sky, though, when he saw him moving to sit down. He smiled faintly and gave a nod before moving to sit down next to him. The aroma of savory Italian food filled the kitchen, and considering Alex hadn't eaten much that day, it had his stomach growling hungrily and his mouth watering. A part of him was tempted to ask Skylar if he liked Italian food. But although things seemed to be alright so far, and despite the fact that his parents didn't seem suspicious of Skylar, Alex was still nervous and on edge. He had been originally solely because his parents were unknowingly meeting his boyfriend for the first time, but with Sky being drunk, that added a whole new level of anxiety and worry to what he was feeling. Once all the food had been set on the table, Alex's mom moved to sit down with a soft sigh. "I do hope that the lasagna is to your liking." She said as she moved to plate food on both her and her husband's plates. Alex watched her and then glanced over at Skylar, torn between answering for him though he didn't know the answer himself, and letting Skylar answer for himself. Ultimately, he decided on the latter.

Sky gave Alex's mom a soft smile. She seemed nice. Alex's dad, on the other hand, was intimidating. "I'm sure it will be delicious." Sky managed, only slurring his words a bit. Sky brushed it off, hoping they'd think it was just some stutter from being nervous. He then looked at the lasagna on the table. He didn't dare to dig in, even though he was starving. He was unaware of the way they did dinner at Alex's house, so all he had to do was sit back and eat once he was served food or got it himself. He threw a glance at Alex for reassurance. (Agh sorry its so short)

Alex was well aware of the fact that, although his father hadn't said more than a few words, his gaze was fixed on Skylar. It was like the guy was trying to read everything he could about him without having to talk. Not an unusual sight, it'd happened to every friend or acquaintance that he'd brought over. Half the time, it felt like he was a father judging the boyfriend of his daughter and not the friend of his son. And although Alex hated it, he didn't dare question him, or even try to divert his attention. If he did, things wouldn't end well, and since he was so desperate to have his parents approve of Skylar, he didn't want to do anything that would mar their opinion of him. He glanced towards Skylar briefly upon hearing his response, and upon catching his gaze, he offered a small smile of reassurance. So far, his parents didn't appear as though they suspected Skylar had had anything to drink, which was a good thing. "So, Skylar was it?" His father started after his plate of food had been set down in front of him. Alex stiffened ever so slightly and looked towards his father, then, only glancing at his mother when she moved to put a slice of lasagna on his and Skylar's plates. "Alex tells us you work at Daryl Curtis' farm?" He said, and though his tone of voice would suggest that he was making a statement, it was clear to Alex that he was asking, wanting to ensure these facts aligned. ((No worries. ^^))

Sky's gaze immediately turned to Alex's father once he heard his name. "Yeah, I do." Sky replied, still smiling softly. After a few beats of silence, he turned his gaze back to Alex. He only stared at him for a couple of seconds before looking back at the food on the table. His eyes then wandered around the kitchen. He wanted to do anything that would keep him from looking at Alex's father. It shouldn't be this scary, but Sky was Alex's boyfriend and they both had no idea. They also had no idea Sky was drunk, yet... Sky didn't like the situation he was in, but he put himself there. Finally, his eyes returned to Alex's father, assuming that he'd want to talk more.

Once his plate had been set down in front of him, Alex looked towards his mother and offered her a grateful smile. He didn't let his eyes linger on her for long, though, as he looked back to his father and Skylar when they spoke. Alex watched as his father gave a nod and moved to take a bite of his meal. Despite this, though, Alex's father kept his gaze on Skylar. "You enjoy horses, then? Or is it the pay that interested you?" He questioned after a long moment of silence. Alex paused at that, raising a brow. He didn't get how that was important information, nor had he thought that that was something his father would ask. Perhaps his mother, since she often enjoyed picking people apart and finding out their interests in a genuine attempt to get to know them better. Alex glanced at Skylar. he wished he could answer for him, but he knew his father, and knew that would be frowned upon, so, at least for now, he remained silent and focused on eating his food. (Sorry this is so short and so poorly written. >.>))
