Name: Rose Age: 3 Gender: Female Appearance: Rose is a sultry black 23" high, 66 pound Sea/Coastal wolf with pale rings around her weak grey eyes, a faint scar on her forehead and numerous scars down her hind legs. The black fur pales to a grey underbelly and throat as well. The insides of her pricked ears are white and stand out against the rest of her body easily. She often has her mouth open in a happy pant, head slightly tilted, tongue lolling and tail waving. Her fur is well groomed as she is very proud of it and doesn't like the sea salt making it stiff and scratchy. She limps a little bit as she trots, but it only slows her a little bit. Her eyes often appear to sparkle when happy. She has several broken teeth in the back of her mouth. Her nose is a grey/black as well, more black then grey but when really dry more grey then black. Name: Night Raven Age: 4 Gender: Male Appearance: Night Raven is a pure black wolf with red streaks through his fur and grey stripes down his legs. He has an obsidian left paw and silver tips of fur on his ears. He stands at 27" high, weighing around 75lbs. A forest wolf, with piercing sapphire eyes. Has a scar from one shoulder traveling down to his right paw. He is usually hunting which means he usually has a rabbit or pheasant in his jaws. His fur is usually a bit ruffled from travel but he sticks to the forest most of the time. He has a nick in one of his ears that is barely noticable at a distance. Habitat: Forest |

Light poured into the den and Night Raven cracked an eye open. Yawning, he stretched each leg out before padding to the entrance of the den. His ears flicked at the birds chirping in the trees before trotting into the forest. He got to the edge of the forest, making sure he was still close to the ocean before heading back into the forest to look for breakfast. A scuffle drew his attention to his right and he dropped into a crouch. Stalking forward, he froze as he saw the rabbit nibbling on some grass. Creeping forward, he circled downwind before putting his weight into his hind legs. Launching forward, he pounced onto the rabbit, his jaws snapping closed around its neck before it even had time to squeal.
Picking his prey up, he flicked his ears listening to his surroundings before trotting over to an old oak tree. Settling down, he ate peacefully before burying the bones. Stretching again, he loped through the forest, weaving the trees before making it to the edge. Taking a step into the sand, he looked out at the ocean before looking up for the sun. North must be. .there. He ran his tongue across his fangs as he found the point between the sun and the ocean. Trotting forward, he weaved the outward trees, keeping to the shadows as he headed onwards. |

Rose watched as the sun rose, shivering in the slight chill as she climbed out of the water, hoping she put enough distance between her and her former pack that they would never follow. Shaking her pelt, she glanced once more behind her before raising her muzzle to sing her sad song to the sun as it rose. Once she had sung her greeting to the new day, she limped up the beach and onto the grass, flopping down to roll in the drass and then groom her black fur. She really hated salt making her pelt prickle, and she meticulously picked through her coat, using her broken back teeth to help comb out the salt. Once the little she-wolf felt satisfied, she got to her paws and stretched, flexing her soare rear paws and setting off down the beach, to despondant to bother digging for clams that morning. She decided to head south. Very few of her kind left the isalnds they called home, and she needed to get away before she was killed. |

Raven weaved through the trees as he covered the distance. Maybe at sunhigh, he would stop at the long clearing that he could see underneath of him. Stopping on the hill, he looked down at the valley. Once in that clearing, he would have to cross the sandy beach in order to get to the other side. After that, he had a short distance to go before he would have to swim. There was small islands that he could get to to go back to the mainland. This long island could go on forever if it wanted to.
Raven shook out his fur before trotting down the sloping hill. He went a bit slower this time, better to save his energy for the swim. He didn't like swimming but that was why the rogues were abandoned on this island. Most of them hated the water and would rather fight for territory rather than finding a way off of the island. His brother had disappeared for a long while before coming back, signaling that there was no way off this island without swimming. Raven had practiced in the river with the swimming even though his brother refused. Raven twitched his ears, he didn't want to think about that at the moment. He had better places to go right now. |

As Rose trotted, she remembered why she hated solid ground. It made her paws ache so and it was slower to travel this way. But swimming took more energy and without eating, she needed to save her energy. The sun beat down on her thick fur and she began to pant as she trotted. Another bonus for her beloved ocea, it was cooler. She was just about to move back into the welcoming waves when a strange scent wafted past her and she stopped dead, nostrils twitching as she flicked her ears back and dropped her tail. Wolf. Not a Sea Wolf either, but a big grey wolf, a forest wolf, a timber wolf. Some wolf along those lines. She sniffed some more. He smelt alone and obviously male. Now she had a choice of flee into the water where he roably wouldn't follow, or risk hiding under the bushes in the forest, where his kind reigned supreme. Deciding that the second option would be the safest, as in the water it was easier to spot her, unless she dove of course, but then she couldn't see him, she turned and broke into a limping run into the shadow of the trees and curled under a low lying bush to await the other wolf's approach. |

Raven jumped down, landing slightly harder than usual as he hopped off the fallen tree. Now, he could see the break in the trees easily and started to quicken his pace to get there. A strange scent fluttered in the wind right before he got to the clearing. He slowed to a stop, sniffing slightly. Another wolf, and the strong scent of sea water. A Sea Wolf? This close to the Forest Wolves island? He swivled his ears, scanning the woods before snorting at himself. Why did he care? The rogues could take care of themselves, especially against one Sea Wolf. Although, he would be happy to side with any other wolf than the timber wolves on this island.
Shaking out his fur, he approached the clearing, a line of bushes were the only thing that blocked his view of the ocean. Striding forward, he scented the earth picking up the little details. Sea Wolf, female, a hint of something off. He guessed either sickness or a limp. Stalking forward, he looked down, scanning for footprints. One of the only things he liked about sand was that it was like mud. You could tell which direction someone was going and gauge how big they were depending on their paw size. He spotted a broken place in the sand and stopped next to it, gathering the details. Small wolf, headed for the forest, limp. Hmm. . .he wondered where she got off to. These were fresh. He turned, scanning the bushes and trees, stalking back towards the line of bushes at the edge of the forest. |

Rose lay, hardly daring to breath, as the larger black male wolf passed her hiding place, but watched in horror as he beelined to her prints in the sand, then turned and made his way back towards her. Rose's small body tensed up, there was no way she could out run this wolf, and he was in between her and the ocean. Her heart began to pound as he got closer, she smelled rabbit blood on his breath and she paniked. She had been separated from her mate when she had been chased from her pack, and last she had seen of him, he had been en route to a zoo, having been captured by researchers as he and the wolf were making their escape, so she knew he was safe at least. But it still made her panic becouse her body didn't know that. She squeezed her eyes shut and growled low, a sudden anger building in her chest as she thought of the humans and the other wolves who showed no mercy to rabbits and their kinds. Her flash of anger passed however, and she snapped back to reality, quickly looking up to find the other wolf. |

Raven froze as a low growl came from the bushes. He lowered his head, his eyes piercing before he moved forward slowly. He circled the bush before crouching to look under it. Just as he thought. A lone Sea Wolf. She had a black pelt with white rings around her eyes. Scars littered from her leg, that would explain the limp. He flattened his ears before backing up slightly, giving her room. Any cornered wolf was dangerous and her growl was most likely a warning. He flicked an ear before saying in a low rumbling voice, "What are doing here Sea Wolf?" |
