Apep was resting in his spot until the familiar voice of his queen receives his attention, and he lifts his head while a yawn left his muzzle. He could hear the distrustfulness within her voice, and his eyes twinkle in amusement. Truly, this pride has most certainly become interesting once more, and it hasn't felt right ever since the last king was alive. Standing onto his paws to give himself a good stretch, flexing his muscles before facing her completely, and he bats his tail against the ground. "Settle your nerves, your highness. The reason why I wasn't patrolling is that I was up late training Nakisisa. So," unsheathing his claws to scrape the ground beneath him, "I decided to rest in for a little while."

"Speaking of which," eyes drifting to the pile of fur on the ground, "Nakisisa, come! You're going on patrol with me!" He approaches the ball of fur and gives it a couple of rough pokes to wake it up. Nakisisa woke up from his slumber, a couple of fresh claw marks on his body, and he stumbles a bit from exhaustion. "Ye-yes." Voice low, eyes down onto the Earth to avoid eye contact with his father. Apep walks away from the main camp with his only son following after him, but the cub looks back to stare at Queen. "Nakisisa!" His father's angry voice called out to him, and the cub flinches before dashing after his father.
