Plot Power. One simple word can cause much pain and trouble. Some achieve it through hard work, others are born into it, and others achieve it by sometimes unfathomable means. On the Savannah, two neighboring prides border each other, the Ximhungwe & Manyeleti Pride. It is quite common for neighboring Pride's to have desputes or be hostile towards each other, but that's not the case for these two prides. In fact, long ago their ancestors were two males that were best friends and established prides with neighboring territories. For generations, the Prides grew close together like a family, always visiting each others territory, assiting each other in battles if needed. Everything was blissful and harmonious. One day, a lioness within the Manyeleti Pride grew bored and uncontent with the life she lived. That hunger for power drove her to do the unthinkable: stage a rebellion. In her spare time she tickled the ears of lionesses and gained their support to overthrow the current Hierarchy of the Pride. Then she moved to seduce the King away from his Queen, and successful she was. Soon she struck, her sister , the Queen being blindsided by this mutiny. The fight was long and vicious, and only three lionesses came to save the true Queen from more surious injuries. It was the middle of the night when the calls of distress came from the Ximhungwe Pride's borders. Taking in the four refugees of the mutiny, and defending against the bloodthirsty lions coming to kill the 'traitors'. The Queen of Ximhungwe was furious when she got the detailed report of what happened within the sister pride. She vowed to take back her friend's territory and judge those who were left within it. More border patrols were initiated, the borders were locked between the once close prides. It seems confontation is inevidble, and soon a declaration of War may be on the way. Who's side are you on? Or are you an innocent bystander? |

Pride Roles Queen The highest rank a female can achieve in her lifetime. This is a role most coveted. She is the the supreme ruler and commander of the pride. Her word is law, and her punishments unquestionable. She is the female who decides who shall enter her pride, when the pride eats and rest, and when they need to move to another area of the territory or when to declare war. She is also ones who resolves issues in the pride and helps where she can. Respect is due this female. This position is earned by bloodline or it can be taken in a fight. A Queen's duel as they call it, when two lionesses of blood relation fight to see who will become the new ruler. However, it must be approved by 6 lionesses and the Second-In-Command female, otherwise it's an unfair duel and it's then referred to as a mutiny. Former Queen: The Queen of Manyeleti, she was subjected to a mutiny and is taking residence with the Ximhungwe Pride. Upmost respect is to be given to her but of course this is not her pride. King The highest rank a male can achieve in his lifetime. This role is more unstable than the Queen's. He helps the Queen lead the pride, and may offer helpful suggestions, yet he is not in charge of anything (unless he is a tyrannical being.) To keep his position he must keep his Queen and lionesses happy. If he is found to be incompetent then he can be removed from his position. He is mainly in the pride for protection. Second-In-Commands The second highest rank a male and female lion/lioness can achieve in their lifetime. This is usually a female-male pairing that have known each other for a long time, and it's quite common for them to be mates. The female Second is the right hand lady of the Queen, she directly reports to her. She also may lead hunts and scouting expeditions for the pride (of course she must have permission from the Queen.) The female also is well trusted by the Queen and pride. The male Second is the one who leads patrols with the Warriors and other lions within the pride. He is allowed to breed within the pride as well. His position is well respected, and can easily be removed if found incompetent. He may also be an Advisor to the Queen, and he knows the Queen better than the King sometimes. Warriors These are the only other two elite males in the pride. They are known for their strength and almost always have a connection to the King. They are higher ranked than the other males in the pride besides the King and Second Male. If in a battle situation they are the heavy hitters who defend the Royal Litter, and they can be almost said to be bodyguards for the Queen and Royal Litter. One may even train the Royal Sons. They have honorable positions that can easily be taken always so they should do everything they can to keep the pride safe Lionesses The bulk and heart of the pride. They have their own established hierarchy amongst themselves, but they all know the Queen and Deputy are above them. They are Hunters, Mothers, Scouts and everything in between for the Pride. These hardworking ladies are to be treated with respect and they should also respect their superiors. Lion The other males of the pride that patrol and keep the area safe for others. They also may occasionally join hunts if extra strength is needed. Juvies/Juveniles The youth and a little bit older kids of the pride. They are 1-2 years old, as when they are 3 they are full-fledged adults. They start learning how to hunt or if mature help in hunts. Cubs The youth and babies of the pride. They are to be taught the way of the pride and cared for by parents/guardian. They range between the age of newborns to 12 months old. Their only job is to learn and play. Royal Litter: The children of the Queen and whomever she decides to breed with. Whenever the Queen has a litter they are immediately regonized as a Royal Litter. The King's offspring with any other lioness does not count as a Royal Litter. To be considered Royal, then they just come from the Queen. If the Queen has a litter with another male besides the King then it could mean danger for the current King. The daughters of the Royal Litter are trained as future Queens and Deputy's while the sons are trained as future Warriors. The children have high expectations and must be treated with respect as they are possibly the future rulers. To kill a Royal Child is considered treason and the penalty will be death whether it was intentional or not. As they grow up, they will be supervised by the Royal Nanny, this is only for whenever the Queen is unavailable. Nomads Males (or females) who have been pushed away from their natal prides for various reasons. They are looking to start their own pride or for a home. About the First Post Both prides are adjusting to the changes that have occurred. It has been almost a week since the mutiny, and some may still be shaken with what happened. It is a hot topic in the Ximhungwe, and they are wondering how their Queen will deal with this. Tempers may flare between the refugees and pride members but this may be less than likely. In the Manyeleti Pride, some may have been for the mutiny and others against it (but they remained silent.) A lot of bitterness from the abolishment of higher ranks can be seen, but also those hungry for power may have the chance to move up in the rankings. It is mid-afternoon, and it's sunny and cloudy day. It has been raining most of the morning, so the land is wet and muddy. It is Wet Season , so a time of plenty but the Dry Season is approaching quickly. Some lions have been up and busy at the den site while others have been lazing around or asleep. |

Oshun Queen | Ximhungwe Pride | Mentions: Apep, Perun , Saleem [ind.] & Khalfani [ind.] The lioness had been awake since the wee hours of the morning. She couldn't sleep, the grim thoughts of war was plaguing her mind. It had been a quite chilly morning, a sign that the dry season was coming. When it started getting colder and the rains lingered longer it was a sign that the heat would soon crank up and everything would dry and desolate. She had seen when it started to rain, and the magnificent flashes of lightning and loud booming sounds of thunder. But the as quickly as it came, it left when the sun had risen. Her coat was still a bit damp from the rain,as the sun had been hidden by the large snowy clouds. She stood up, and stretched her body and flexed her claws. She had been perched upon a large boulder, keeping an eye on the Pride. While she trusted those taking refuge they weren't family, and she didn't know them well. The female then climbed down from her perch, and yawned. Her salmon-hued tongue flickering out as her sharp canines were visible to the eye. She then used her amber optics to scan the forms of the lions, and she found the lion she wanted to talk to, Perun. Ah, the male was quite the looker. His coat was leucistic. And it held an almost creamy disposition to it. She knew she could trust the male, and she nudged him to get his attention and then she spoke, "Good afternoon, Perun. I would like for you to go on patrol with Saleem, Khalfani, and Apep. Please, when you all finish patrol come find me, I would like to discuss an important matter with you and my Second Female. Do not tell Apep of this meeting. Please go find Khalfani." Her words were final and they left no room for argument. She turning on her heels to find her second target, Apep. She soon found him lazing about. Her mood soured at the sight of the male, she didn't like him. The only reason he remained in his position was to respect the former King's choice in his Second. However, this male was proving useless and annoying. "Good afternoon, Apep." She said coldness and a visible disgust in her tone, "what is the Second doing lazing about at a time like this? Shouldn't you be leading a patrol?" She said reprimanding him, "Perun & Khalfani shall be prepared for you by the time you find them. So do get off your bum and make sure our borders are secure." The female's reeked of displeasure. From the fiery gaze , to the wrinkle of disgust on her muzzle. |

Abuk Lioness | Ximhungwe Pride | Mentions: Adani The lioness had been slumbering peacefully but the sounds of hushed voices woke her. She woke up to see the Queen talking to Perun and then off to handle some buisness. The lioness wondered how she did it. How did she have the confidence to lead such a large pride, and then under the circumstances? Oshun was two years younger than her and she envied the younger lioness did her confidence. Sighing the older lioness got up and began moving around. She noticed the wetness of the densite and the mud puddles. Had she slept through rain? Ah, how she loved rain very much. She was disappointed that she missed it, but alas that's what she got for being such a heavy sleeper. She chuckled to herself, and scanned the pride for familiar faces when she caught the face of a younger lioness, Adani. She wondered how she was feeling with what happened. The older lioness gave soft headbutt as to greet the younger female, "Afternoon, Adani. How are you today?" |

Jahzara Refugee Lioness | Ximhungwe Pride | Mentions: Rasheda, Atiya A young lioness scanned the forms of the pride members below. Some were sleep and others were getting up. It felt odd to be in a new place, and the lioness scowled a bit. Why had they run? They shouldn't have hidden like bloody cowards, well , they were outnumbered. Jahzara scoffed, and she could feel the stinging of the wound on her leg. A little growl coming out at the thought of it. Minerva, a large lioness, had given her the oh-so delightful parting gift. Zara swore whenever she saw that lioness again she'd claw her eyes out. The young creature had grown more irritable being in a new territory. She soon found Rasheda and Atiya together, and she softly thwacked Atiya's head in greeting, and gave Rasheda a short head rub. She wasn't one for being overly affectionate, but this was her way of saying hello and trying to be involved with them. The young lioness knew that Rasheda was the true Queen of Manyelteli and no one would tell her otherwise. She focused her eyes on the two familiar faces. And she scanned the for scars in a more concearned manner. Her own leg stung like hell, but she wasn't complaining about it, so she took a deep sigh and layed down beside them. The young creature had a scowl on her face as she looked at the Ximhungwe members. They seemed a bit laxed, and others on edge. She was just greatful the Queen shared their rage in being kicked from home due to a mutiny. "Good morning My Queen." Jahzara said respectfully to Rasheda, "Have you talked to Oshun regarding future plans to reobtain your pride?" the young creature talked as if she was the Second-In-Command, but it's just she felt so comfortable around the Queen, and viewed her like a mother. She wanted blood, vengence for her Queen. How dare Ashanti think she's better than Rasheda. It was something that Jahzara couldn't understand: The craving for power. What was it that drove them so mad for it? It was incomprehensible to her. All she knew was: She was ready to raise hell for Rasheda. |
