Ever since scientists had begun playing with the adaptations of animals and applying them to humans, their experiments were all a success. After decades of the spread of the superpowers, they began to be passed down through generations. These superpowers started as simple extensions - claws, ears, the occasional tail - but over time, wings, scales and other crazy animal powers began to emerge. Today, more than 95% of society is based on animal powers, and one of the highest-ranking and highest-budget high schools, Animalia Academy High (or AAH for short) has started sending out new application recommendations to students that will be able to enroll in the school. You have had your powers since you were a toddler, which is the average age range that they establish. At that age, your friends all got their assignments as well… but what opportunities would that open for you? You found out a week ago, when you received an email listing the information about the school. You had been accepted into one of the best High Schools in the nation! But there was one more detail that they left out...that only 15 people had been accepted. This school is a new opportunity to mold your future and pursue your dreams. (See sign-up thread for all information) . . The email that you had received contained information about the staff, building and location, so you decided to enroll online and start your high school career. The first day of official school was in a few days, but the Welcome Assembly and dorm assignment would be the day before in a city a bit of distance away. That morning, you packed your bags and waved your old life goodbye, departing for a new adventure that awaited you. . . "The Welcome Assembly is a famous ceremony that is held by the principal and staff, aiming to help you get comfortable with the building and faculty. This ceremony is mandatory and if you do not go, you will not be permitted to enter the school for security. You should be either dropped off by a parent or arrive there yourself in any way, but the assembly commences at 11:30, followed by your first meal at the school. We all wish you luck in whatever this new world holds for you. Sincerely, Animalia Academy." The current scene takes place at the front doors of Animalia Academy High School (AAHS) near the entrance to the arena. The arena is consisted of a stage-like floor surrounded by large bleachers with folding seats, much like a football stadium but a bit larger and with a large glass dome covering the top. The front does are reserved for students, and the parents are expected only to drop off the kids. Luggage should be dropped off in the entrance to the arena, in a pile of suitcases and bags near the doorway but far enough away to not create a fire hazard. Because of the dangerous activity of dueling and fighting, the arena is engineered to be fireproof, mostly waterproof, shock resistant, and weather-proof. The current time is 10:45 AM, and the weather is partly cloudy and 73° Fahrenheit with a light breeze. The ceremony will begin at 11:30. Latecomers will be admitted, but after the ceremony is over, no new students will be able to enter without contacting ahead and meeting with the principal... . Let your journeys begin, you may now all begin posting! Edited at April 21, 2020 08:22 AM by Firewalkers

Kaskade H. Tintenfisch - 15 - Octopus - M: Open.. : )
Kas stared out the window of her car as her mother drove down the road to Animalia Academy High School (AAHS). She sighed, "Mom, are you sure this is a good idea?" Kas' felt sick to her stomach. Her hands felt slimy like how her tentacles felt when she was nervous. "Aww, you'll do fine. This is a place to learn and master your gifts. It won't be that bad." Kas' mother responded in a reassuring voice. "They aren't going to like me, these kids. I'm sure they are better looking and aren't from the stinkn' ocean." Kas thought long about coming and she was excited to learn of the school that would allow her to feel comfortable in her own skin, or chromatophore.
They reached the entrance of the school. Other students where already arriving for orientation. "Well this is it." Kas' mother said getting out of the car and walking to the truck. Kas zipped up her jacket and stepped out of the car. She looked around. Oh boy...this should be interesting. She walked to the truck and grabbed her backpack while her mother grabbed her suitcase. They both walked over to the entrance of the arena. "I think we just set our bags here." Kas said noticing the other student's bags. "Do you know who your room mate is going to be?" Kas' mother asked. "Not sure." Kas responded. "I think I go into the arena." Kas also noticed the other students heading in. "I love you mom!" They gave each other hugs and parted ways. "I'll call you tonight." Kas yelled to her mother as she turned to face the arena's entrance. "Here goes nothing." She walked in and took a seat in an empty row of the big amphitheater. Callum Silverheart - 15 - Homosexual - Forest Wolf - M: Open Callum rode silently next to his older sister, she was dropping him off at his new school. Cal was extremely nervous, he didn't like talking to people, and it made him anxious to be in a new environment. "We're here." His sister told him cheerfully. "A-are you sure this is a good idea?" Cal asked in his quiet voice. "Of course! You'll do fine, don't be a baby, you have to learn to socialize somehow." "Oh, o-okay." He said, putting on his hat to cover the fuzzy wolf ears that were on his head. He stepped out of the car and went into the amphitheater, he clenched his fists and gazed around at the other people with wide eyes. Like him they were all part of an animal, but most of them weren't hiding it. Deciding it would be better to blend in, Cal took off his hat, and let his wolf ears show, though they were pinned against his head in his anxiety. Taking a deep breath, Callum took a seat as close to the back of the room as he could get. His heart was racing and he kept his eyes down-cast, trying to avoid any attention. If someone told him to move he would, and if someone yelled him he would let them. He was used to it, and he had been raised not to fight back. So he sat there and tried to blend in as best he could.

Daniel Grigory - 16 - straight - peregrine falcon - M: Open Daniel sits in the passenger seat of his older brothers car. "This is kinda neat that you got accepted to Animalia Academy. I wanted to go there but of course I'm a bit too old for that now." Kaden says. Daniel just watches out the window as the school came into view. "Woah, its like a stadium..." Daniel finally says. Kaden cracks a smile. "Now you know why I've been trying to train you. I wasn't good enough so that I wasnt excepted. But because you trained more than I did. And actually had a mentor, You are actually in." Kaden says. He keeps silent till he stops the car at the front of the school. Daniel grabs his bag then gets ready to open the door when Kaden grabs his shoulder. Daniel looks at Kaden. Kaden nods at the staduim then looks at his brother. "Make our family proud." He says. Daniel nods with a smirk then gets out of the car. After a few steps up to the ampitheater, Daniel hears his brothers car drive off. "Here goes nothing." He mumbles. Walking into the theater, Daniel saw a ton of different types of animals. Birds, mammals, aquatic animals, reptiles. He realized that there were mostly on-land mammals. They were the ones up and talking. Daniel walks down the aisle to the student sections and sits in the back. He was usually social... at places where he knew at least one person. Daniel is wary of the animals around him. He studies each of the animals with a keen gaze till he spots a wolf, sitting in the back like him. The wolf's ears were down and he was alone. "Ima go try to at least make one friend." Daniel thinks as he gets up, trying to maneuver through the crowd with his folded up wings. The wolf has kinda messy hair, with a slightly tanned skin. Daniel finally is next to the wolf. "Hello." Daniel says and hope that he doesn't male this conversation awkward.

Kas looked around nervously at the crowd of students. She was usually a pretty social butterfly, but not with this crowd. Everyone looks comfortable talking and making new friends. Didn't they just get here? How do they know the whole school already? Kas sighed. This might be a long year. Her blue eyes caught sight of some students sitting in the back of the arena. They looked just as nervous as she did. Gee..I don't blame them. No one here looked approachable. At least that's what Kas thought. Bored and not wanting to look awkward looking around, Kas pulled out her phone from her backpack with a tentacle. 11:00 is what the time read. When does this thing start? For two seconds she thought about getting up and meeting some people, but her stomach wouldn't allow it. Guess I'll wait here for thirty minutes. She thought, remembering reading on the email of when the orientation started.

Mike Cliffman - 15 - Barn Owl - M: Open He was twitching with nerves by the time they got to the school. He’d never liked cars; for one, they ruined the environment, and two, he prefered to fly. So he nearly jumped out when they got to a stop. But he controlled himself, and instead, quickly got out and shut the door. He took in the sight. His dad was(somehow) already out of the car, and had grabbed his suitcase. Mike went(no, he didn’t fly yet; he didn’t want to cause a scene where people started staring) around and grabbed his backpack. Seeing that everyone else was leaving their bags at the front, He pointed subtly at the pile; communication between him and his dad was done in hand gestures and a rare word or two. Understanding the gesture, his dad gave him his suitcase. “Stay out of trouble.” His dad said; to someone who hadn’t known him, they would never had noticed the undertone of worry in his voice. But Mike did notice it, and nodded in a reply. With that, he dropped off his bags and walked into the amphitheater, while his dad walked back to the car. The first thing he noticed was that these people didn’t try to hide their animal features; while he didn’t really care, he had always hid them, because it was hard to maneuver on the ground with his wings out. Here, he could see that most had land animal parts; he rarely saw a wing, but knew that there must be someone else with wings somewhere. Shugging, he kept his wings pressed against his back and went to find somewhere to sit. Finding an almost empty row, he went and sat away from the only other person; a girl who, like himself, didn’t have any noticeable animal parts. She had black hair, and seemed to be around his age. He noticed her take out a phone and looking at it. He debated talking to her, but decided against it in the end; better to see what the other students were like. Absently, he looked at his own phone and started re-reading the email he was sent, while trying to fend off the loud noises of students greeting each other. Callum Silverheart - 15 - Homosexual - Forest wolf - M: Daniel Callum flinched when he was spoken to. He looked up and found that another boy was standing above him, he seemed be be partially some kind of bird. A falcon maybe? "H-hi." Cal stutters, his eyes wide with fear. He didn't quite know what to do, he looked at the boy with a mixture of curiousity and fear, he would talk if the other talked to him. He waited to see what would happen. (Sorry this is so short!) Daniel sits in the chair next to the wolf. "You seemed a bit lonely." Daniel says. He holds out his hand. "I'm Daniel." He says. Daniel, cautious as always, studies the wolf's features. His ears were back, like was always having to submit to someone. His eyes were a dark blue. It reminded Daniel of his childhood friend. (sorry this was kinda short too.) Rose Turner | Female: Straight | Squirrel | M: Mike, Kaskade Rose got off the bus that took her almost the entire way to her new school. She grabbed her sports bag full of clothes and school equipment and slung it over her shoulder. Rose made her way quickly to her school, dropping her bag with the others without stopping and entered the arena. Rose froze for a minute. Her scenes, enhanced by her squirrel abilities, were firing. There were a lot more people here than Rose anticipated, a lot more people like her. Rose recovered from her overwhelment and found a seat as far from everyone else as possible. This was not very far though. She ended up sitting somewhat near a black haired girl that smelled of seawater and a blonde-haired boy that smelled like feathers. Rose pretended to stare off into space while she listened for anything that resembled her. Her right ear twitched involuntarily once when she strained to hear something farther away, another car maybe? Edited at April 21, 2020 01:20 PM by Wild Side
