Sameen I Female I Member I Mentions: the gang

Sameen watched as the three rode off to go hunting, sure she wished she would've offered to go along also, but it was to late now. Sighing heavily Sameen walked over to her tent to grab some things before heading out herself, to maybe check out dead drop canyon, sure it was risky, but what was life without a little risk? Besides she would only check it out, not actually go very close.
~~~~
Her tent was in a corner of the camp, giving her more privacy the some of the others, more specifically Lotte, who's tent was in the middle, and Sameen assumed that gave Lotte little to no privacy. Sameen liked her tent where is was, she didn't have to hang around most the gang members when she didn't feel like it. And privacy was nice.
~~~~
When Sameen reached her tent she sat down for a second and started to think. What if I hang around camp for a bit? See what Conner's up to? She shook her head clearing away the thoughts, "No that's a horrible idea.." she muttered quietly, Sameen was pretty sure he liked Lotte and would get annoyed if she was around them.
~~~~
"Where is it!" Sameen growled in frustration as she looked around her tent. I swear my knife was just here! She spotted it and reached over to grab it. I also need to reload both guns.. She thought maybe she could try hunting while she was out aswell, bring back more food for the gang. Sameen grabbed her rifle and started to reload it. Perfect.. She checked her Navy Colt and found it didn't need to be reloaded. Figures, I hardly ever don't reload it. "I should grab an apple for wildfire.." she murmured softly, thinking about how he would enjoy that.
~~~~
Exiting the tent Sameen headed straight for her horse, sort of ignoring everyone else. "Hey bud, I brought ya something," She held out her hand and fed him the apple, scratching his ears as he looked for more. "Sorry that's all I got!" She patted his neck, as she mounted him. "Now c'mon wildfire this way," she clicked her tongue, urging out of camp and towards dead drop canyon.

After Diamond finished cleaning the doe she went to get a rag from her tent.As she cleaned the blood from her hand she looked to her sack of arrows"Only three arrows left!?"She almost yelled.She picked up the sack and her bow along with her guns.
Diamond whistled as she walked off into the forest.Smoke cantered to catch up to her.Once Smoke got to Diamond she mounted and went towards town.Diamond mumbled angrily under her breath"How did I not notice I only had three left?...."Smoke threw her head up.
"I don't want your opinion!"Diamond grumbled patting Smoke's neck.
As Diamond interred the town she let out a sigh."Where would arrows be sold?......"She asked herself quietly as she pulled Smoke to the side of the road and tied her reigns to a post.Diamond looked around before walking around the town.She sighed and closed her eyes"Why is it so hard....maybe I could just make some"she whispered to herself before running into the back of someone
"Hey watch it lady"an male voice growled but before he could turn around Diamond got up and ran inbetween two buildings.
Diamond held her breath then let it out after realizing the man wasn't going to look for her.
As she made her way around the town she saw the saloon.
"Not today"she said to herself as she walked past the doors of it.She made her way back to Smoke and untied the reigns before mounting her."come on girl"Diamond said clicking her tongue and tapping Smoke's side.
On the way back to camp Diamond looked around the trail stopping to pick up thick sticks that she could carve and male into arrows."Smoke calm down their just sticks!"Diamond growled as Smoke tried to bite the sticks in her hands.
Diamond lead Smoke the rest of the way to camp and once there she walked over to her tent and went inside where she started to make arrows.

Lotte looked at herself in the small mirror, sitting promptly in the corner on the small wooden desk that could be found in most of the tents. She adjusted her outfit accordingly, smiling slightly at herself as she caught her reflection. Lotte huffed softly, taking in how she looked. Her hair was still quite messy, thrown into a lose braid the night before and still needed to be done. Regardless, she figured it could wait, and perhaps, Lotte could treat herself to a bath in town. She scoffed at the thought - since when did outlaws get time to actually treat themselves, she thought, and this caused her to simply shake her head. Silly thought, huh? Maybe, but it was something that Lotte could for sure dream about, and in fact, didn't regret it at all.

Lotte could hear the others scrambling to the food she had set out, which made her happy - some people did actually listen to her, and in this case, she could feel blessed in a way. She scoffed at the thought though. Again, since when did outlaws feel blessed? Maybe it was just her mood today or it was a sudden change in heart, but Lotte had never felt like this in quite some time. And by some time, she meant a long time. Like a decade ago when Stefan wasn't caught up on drinking and smoking. But at that exact thought, Lotte sighed.

Oh, Stefan. A man changed for the worst, but changed for the best in this world they live in. Crazy, isn't it?

However, her sudden thoughts would be taken away as Lotte snapped back to reality, feeling the slight presence of someone approaching her tent. Just from outside, she could hear the footsteps approaching, and she turned to see the entrance open. Lotte blinked in slight disbelief.

Connor.

Lotte cleared her throat, her thoughts immediately rolling back to the night before. No wonder why he wasn't in the tent this morning. Smart, she thought, it wouldn't look suspicious. Lotte took in the man's appearance - he seemed quite off, but of course, it just seemed like he was up early attending to duties and simply hadn't had time to work on himself.

Of course, maybe that was true, but seeing how last night went, Lotte simply couldn't stand to believe her own assumption. Perhaps that was just a part of it, but regardless... She still wouldn't bother to buy into it. Seriously, why would she? For the sake of saving herself or him? Maybe Lotte was starting to think the entire thing was a mistake. Oh, boy. Not a mistake. Lotte couldn't go that far this early on.

But after a sweet moment of silence, Lotte cleared her throat, hearing the man talk. He was cheerful, a happy tone in his greeting, which was a simple good morning. A grin across Connor's face, Lotte could only assume he was happy to see her. And honestly, Lotte was necessarily unhappy, but in a way, it simply felt awkward. To be honest, there wasn't much to say. She wouldn't say there was any mistakes or something along those lines. Lotte couldn't bring herself to do that.

"Connor," she exhaled, cursing slightly in her native tongue. "I didn't expect to see you this morning," Lotte said, offering a small smile in return for his large grin, sweeping across his face like a child on Christmas day. "Did you get yourself breakfast by chance? It's not the best, but venison from a few days ago."

Lotte was indeed trying to keep her mind off of the night before, but it would end up bothering her more and more. Did she say anything? Did she make this more awkward than it had to be? No. Keep quiet, she told herself. There will be a time for it.

And now is not the time.

Stefan Althaus | Male | Member | Mentions: Buddy, Evangeline (direct)

-

Stefan continued to sip on the whiskey, savoring each drop that was felt on his tongue. The German man eyed the entrance, watching a familiar man enter. Although not surprised, Stefan couldn't help but let out a slightly annoyed sigh. Buddy. The gang leader, a man that Stefan respected but wasn't the most closest with, but he knew he could trust him with his life... in most situations, let's be honest. Two drunks? Nah, that never mixed well.

Stefan watched the gang leader approach the counter, simply ordering the same thing as Stefan. The bartender did as offered, in which Stefan looked towards the leader. "You're up bright and early," he spoke, his German accent thick. Stefan watched the man as he slid Stefan a cigarette and a match, in which he accepted, lighting the cigarette within moments before taking a puff.

"Yeah," Stefan paused, taking a sip. "Starting the day off just right," he exhaled the smoke from his puff he took after speaking.

"You know Buddy, you don't make a great leader when you follow your great pal Stefan to the saloon quite early, don't you think?" He asked, furrowing a brow towards the man as he drank and puffed on his cigarette.

Stefan's eyes landed upon the door once again, seeing the entrance simply opening to a younger woman. Stefan scoffed, a slight smile creeping across his scarred face as Evangeline entered the scene. Stefan couldn't help but roll his eyes as she asked the bartender for a smaller portion of what Stefan and Buddy were drinking, but nonetheless, he was glad that not everyone in the gang were just as bad alcoholics as he was. He wasn't too sure about Buddy, but it could be assumed that that's why the two got along so well - alcohol meant drunk, and drunk meant emotions.

See how that all works?

"Evangeline, don't be surprised. And hey," he paused, looking at the woman then to Buddy, "tell our ol' leader hear to stick to the gang, not alcohol. Only reason that I haven't taken over yet," Stefan muttered his last sentence, although it was a joke, he sometimes felt cocky enough to take over. That however, the German would in fact never admit. "The devil possesses me I suppose." Stefan finished the last of the whiskey before calling for another round.

"Only the strongest handle quite poison." Stefan replied, looking towards Evangeline. "What the hell are you even doing out here? You're the one talkin' about early day-drinking when you're here drinking as well? Hypocritical if you ask me," Stefan said with a slight nod and an up-and-down look at the young woman before drinking some more. He would tap on the end of his cigarette, the ashes falling into the ashtray.

Stefan was sorta taken aback by Buddy's question. "You really are someone who likes business, huh Buddy?" He asked in a rather snarky tone, but meant nothing by it. He despised that question with most, if not all, of his being. "I'm doin' just fine."

[ Roxie Sweet ]

| Female | Member | Mentions: Ben and Adaline |

Roxie breathed in the familiar scent of the forest. She had almost forgotten what it was like to be out and about in the vast wilderness she loved so much. It was really the only place to go and vent to literally nothing, but she didn’t care as long as it felt like the trees would listen and not tell a soul what she had said. She followed behind Ben and Adaline, feeling a bit out of place. Normally she had always been in the middle of the line, but someone had told her that was just to make sure she didn’t run off. Being at the back of the group didn’t particularly feel right either and she had the urge to cut quickly in front of Adaline, but she held herself back and kept on riding steadily behind them.

She slowly pulled out her gun, an old but new looking carbine repeater that she normally cleaned hoping to get to use it someday. She had had this gun ever since she’d joined the gang a few years ago. She had always kept it loaded just in case there was an attack.

Her horse gave a small snort and she patted him on the head gently to tell him it was alright. Roxie looked around at the trees hoping to see something; a deer, a turkey, a rabbit, anything that would mean that she’d be the one putting food on the table for once. She sighed quietly to herself when she saw nothing nearby and lowered her weapon but kept alert just in case anything did show up. She wanted to be the first to catch something, or at least the first to see something. She glanced over at Ben and Adaline to see if they had seen anything yet.

Slicker | Male | 27 | Member | M: Ollie (Dep), + Everyone (Ind)

“Oh come on, el cerebro!~” Slicker called. “I know you can hear meeeeee! No need to ignore me.” Ollie was so strange it always made Slicker laugh at just how rude Ollie could be sometimes. Deep down, he knew Ollie cared. It was obvious to anyone who had eyes. Ollie was probably just desperate for people to like him, but didn’t want people to think he was clingy. Slicker was always analyzing the gang members and Ollie was a common subject for him. He didn’t know why, but the quiet man was just so interesting to him. What kind of insecurities or flaws could he be trying to hide in his defensive and agitated outward shell? It was a fascinating question. One that Slicker knew he would only be able to speculate. This is because of this unspoken rule that everyone here seems to make: don’t ask about the past. Even despite this simple rule, he swore he knew everyone’s backstory without ever hearing them talk about their previous lives. Their lives before the gang. Ollie was one of the people he felt as though he knew the most about only because of the amount of time he spends with him. At this point, he felt like he knew Ollie better than anyone.

Maybe even better than Adaline.

It was at that moment that he realized Snapple, his horse, was nowhere to be found. Well, he was sure Snapple was close by. She couldn’t have wandered far. Maybe from the hill Ollie was on, he could spot her. Or, worst case scenario, climb the tree to get a better look of the area for his horse. He had owned that horse for… For at least a decade and a half. He hated most horses because of an incident he faced when he was younger, but Snapple? She was the most gentle creature he had ever met. It was a nice change of pace too. To know something that for sure wouldn’t hurt him. When he grew up, he learned that everything, everything, was out to get him. Slicker was glad that as he grew up, not everything and not everyone was going to try and hurt him.

“Soooooo!” Slicker said, as soon as he reached the foot of the tree. He stopped and looked over Ollie’s shoulder before crouching down by him. “Ohhhhh… New book, eh?” Slicker pried his cigarette from his lips with one hand and tilted his head to try and peak at the title. “What’s it on? Is it any good?? Come on, at least tell me what the book’s about why don’t cha?” Slicker glanced back to Ollie with a smirk. “Come on. Go get yerself some food, ‘kay? You can read an’ eat at the same time you know! It’s called using that brain of yours, el cerebro, and multi-tasking.” Slicker gave a fake, dramatic gasp. “I know! So damn challenging! Can even the great Ollie even achieve such a feat?” Slicker stood with a loud laugh, ruffling Ollie’s hair with one hand and putting his cigarette back in his mouth with the other. “I guess we’ll never know if you stay brooding over here, now will we?”

Now where was Snapple? Knowing her, she was probably covered in water or rolling in the mud. That would be so much fun to clean up later.

Vera | Female | 26 | Member | M: Lotte (Dep), Conner (Dep), Adaline (Ind), + Everyone (Ind)

Vera hated talking sometimes. She knew she didn’t talk in the most perfect way possible and that her accent was thick and her English was terrible at best. That’s why it was always so frustrating when she had so much to say. For one, when she sat down and shoveled a forkful of food into her mouth, so much so that she barely could chew properly with all the food in her mouth, she wanted to compliment Lotte. Lotte was the few people Vera wanted to be genuinely kind to, if she was honest. And if she was still being honest, she realized she probably couldn’t interrupt the conversation Lotte and Conner were having. Conner looked to be in a bit of a rough state, but he could have just been in a rush to get over for breakfast. He looked more than a little rough actually. But then again, who was she to judge? Vera’s eyes held heavy bags and her body still lingered with the smell of sweat and Slicker’s cigarettes.

Vera had only been in the group for just under seven months. Not a newcomer, but definitely not as friendly with everyone or even that close to anyone besides perhaps Slicker and Lotte. Then again, everyone was close with Lotte. She was just such a genuinely good person which was almost unimaginable for Vera. Slicker, on the other hand, just made her laugh. It was sad that until she met Slicker she hadn’t laughed for such a long time. Maybe Adaline was a friend as well. Adaline was definitely a smart person. One that you had to be careful with. Vera still didn’t know if Adaline liked her or hated her guts, but even though she specialized less in combat and more in other skills, Adaline held some of Vera’s respect. That was a rare thing for someone in the group to earn. Only four people truly held her respect, Adaline included.

Vera hadn’t realized she had just been staring at her food until she heard Lotte talking to Conner again. Vera still had shovels of food in her mouth which she quickly swallowed down before looking back up between Connor and Lotte. She didn’t want to be rude, but at this point, everyone thought of her as a gruffian so why let down their expectations? Plus, it wasn’t that rude to interrupt their conversation for compliments.

“You made food, right?” Vera asked, her heavy Spanish accent and low pitched voice interrupting the two. Vera waved her fork at Lotte to make sure Conner knew she wasn’t talking to him. It wasn’t that she didn’t like Conner, she just wasn’t in the mood for talking with him at the moment. She stared up at the taller woman for a moment before continuing with a small smile, a rare thing to see with Vera. “Food good. A little salt nice, but very good. You try hard to cook and it show.” The smile quickly faded as she stuffed another pile of meat into her mouth and continued to eat. Despite not showing it too obviously, Vera was super abnormally happy for once. Her shoulders relaxed and not tense, her eyes wide with delight, and she hadn’t picked a fight with anyone just yet today so this was a win-win for everyone.

Adaline I Female I Second in Comand I Mentions: The gang

Adaline allowed her horse to follow Ben's. She loved being out in the outdoors for once with no obligations. If they didn't bring anything back that would be okay, althought of course she needed to bring something back for her gang. She loved her gang, it was her entire life, her family. She had been in the gang for the majority of her life, she had never known anything different. She couldn't even remember the short period she had been left alone, which was good for her.

She brought her mind back on the task at hand, hearing a noise from the forest. She took the repeater off her shoulder, letting go of Bourbon's reins for a moment to make sure the sights on the gun were set accordingly. She had a small scope on the gun, which might be helpful in this senerio.

She was adjusting the sights of the gun, absentmindedly directing the horse. The sights seemed to be lined up correctly and she took one more look through them before being satisfied. She checked that the gun was loaded, then put the strap back over her shoulder, in a place she could easily grab it. She smiled, excited for this hunt trip.

Suddenly Burbon tensed, a split second later she spun around, galloping off. Adaline was caught off gaurd, the horse spinning around so fast that she almost slid right off the side. The mare had obviously been frightened by soemthing from the way it froze and then dashed. Adaline managed to grab the reins, but the horse had decided to go jump over a log. Adaline pulled her to a halt before the log, the mare tossing her head and started to rear up slightly on her back legs.

Connor O'Conner I Male I Newcomer I Mentions: Lotte and Vera

Connor looked at Lotte, smiling at her still. He was a little emberassed that he hadn't eaten yet and she made the food. He really just didn't like eating that much, he preferred not being a burden to anyone. He was a little confused though as to why she wasn't very happy to see him, he was pretty sure that she liked him. Well completely sure before this moment.

"I haven't gotten around to eating yet, just got back from relaxing down by the lake for a few hours." He told her. He hadn't invited her for multiple reasons, but the largest being that he just needed a little space. Of course he wouldn't have minded her there with him at all, but he was also content there on his own. He was a loner, what could he say? He was used to being on his own and was still learning to be around other people and forge relationships again.

He frowned slightly as one of the other gang members interupted his conversation with Lotte. He looked over at the new girl, expression changing into one of annoyance and bordem. He knew Lotte made great food, but she didn't need to come over and tell her that right at that moment. He didn't barely know the girl either, but she was now automatically added to his list of gang members he would avoid. Since he was still new, he didn't have relationships or really even knew most of the other members. He was a loner, so he usually didn't go out of his way to introduce himself or get to know other people. Well... most people. Lotte was an exception.

Blaze Perry l M l 21 l newbie l M: Asta

Blaze walked back to camp slowly, still drenched in water because of his arrogant horse. He noticed Asta’s horse laying next to her tent. She must’ve been finding food for it again. He wasn’t around her much, but she seemed pretty nice so far. Her horse seemed pretty tame; better than his at least. Maybe it had something to do with some breeds being more social than others. He reached out to pet it, but it pulled away and ran off in another direction. If Asta found out he lost her horse, he’d be dead! He ran after it, hoping to catch it looping around back towards camp. The horse managed to run straight into an old wire fence. He approached it slowly, hoping not to spook it. “It’s fine, I’m here to help.” That only seemed to worry it more as it began to panic. The horse thrashed around and twisted in the wire, wrapping it around its ankle in the process. Finally a sickening crack noise emerged and its ankle was bent at an odd position. “Oh-shoot!” Why was he so accident-prone? All the horses he was around seemed to die or run off in one way or another.

He ran back to the camp in a dead sprint. On the way back, he tried to avoid hitting trees, but managed to run into others in the process. Kitchen- kitchen… Where was it? He came back at a different area than he was usually around. He began to jog around the camp looking for Asta. She must’ve found a sack of oats because she was lugging it back to her tent when he found her. “Hey, Asta!” He yelled over to her, motioning in his direction,”Your horse, it-” He hesitated at the last part, struggling to find words.

Asta dropped the sack in surprise, its contents emptying all over the grass. “What?” She ran over to Blaze, worried that her horse had done something really stupid.

“Just follow me, okay?” He ran at a manageable pace back to where her horse had gotten injured. While trying to catch his breath from all the running, he tried to explain. “It…”

She knelt down, examining her horse. Her head tilted up to look at him again, “How.” Her face was in a death glare look and her words came out rough. It was less of a question than a statement with that tone.

Blaze grimaced. “Your horse- er- it managed to run out here. And I followed it… If it just ran off that would be bad, right? Or-” He understood her concern as horse medicare was hard to come by.

“So this is your fault?”

Oh, yikes. She was a little too attached to her horse, huh. “Well, one could say. It depends on how you look at it.”

She laughed a bit at that. “You think horse lives mean nothing, huh? Tell me, how many have you gone through by now?”

“Well…” He counted on his fingers. “I don’t really know how many.”

“They mean just as much as a human’s, you know.” She smiled, making the situation become much worse. “So, what’ll it be? An ankle or a life?” Her blade swished, pointing in his direction as if to say, ‘you’re next’.

“I-”

(I'll add the second part under Asta later. I'm just leaving an opening just in case)

Ben Hanson| Male| Member| Mentions: Adaline and Roxie|

Ben almost went after Adaline but he figured that she had it and he didn't want to spook the horse even more by running after it. He saw a beautiful orange flower in the corner of his eye, it gave off a wonderful smell, sadly there was only one, he would have given one to each of the ladies but now he would just have to decide who to give it to. Ben walked over to the flower and cut its stem with his knife. He smelt it and held it in his hand wondering who to give it to, suddenly he knew who.

He looked over at Roxie and smiled, his eyes were shining "I'll be right back." He said with a soft voice. He got on his horse and kicked her lightly on the side, the horse trotted away. Ben followed the other horse tracks until he saw Adaline managing to catch her horse. Ben got off Whisling Bird and walked over to Adaline with a sweet smile "I just wanted to make sure everything was okay here... I found this..." Ben said as he held out the flower to Adaline, he hoped she would like it. " Well I better go back and make sure Roxie is doing okay..." Ben said and he walked back to his horse, he tipped his hat to Adaline and rode off.

On the way back he smiled, he liked Adaline... a lot, he wondered what she thought about the flower. He felt sad because he hadn't got the chance to give a flower to Roxie, he shrugged he would probably find another one later.

He arrived back to the place where he left Roxie. Suddenly something jumped out of the bushes and onto Roxie's horse, Ben watched in shock and pulled out his gun and got ready to fire it at the thing that jumped onto her horse.

Buddy Thornson| Male| Gang leader| Mentions: Stefan|

Buddy sighed "I may not be the best leader for drinking this early... but this is probably the first and last time... just felt like I needed a drink." Buddy said to Stefan in a calm voice. "I probably need to go see what they all are up to back at camp anyway..." Buddy said with a slight smile "Well, I'll be seeing you soon then." Buddy said to Stefan as he got up. Buddy walked through the saloon doors and mounted his horse, he then rode off towards camp.

When Buddy arrived in camp he saw that most of the gang member were awake. Buddy walked over to the table to see if there was anything left for him to eat, he saw a bowl full of venison so he grabbed that bowl and a fork and began to eat.

Roxie screamed as her horse kicked up onto her front legs and three her off. She landed with a loud thud on the ground but she seemed to be ok as she scrambled against a tree, her eyes wide with shock.
A giant cougar had grabbed a hold of her horse's back and was snarling viciously. Her horse let out a loud shocked cry for help as it tried to buck the large cat off.
But the cougar was already clawing it's way up the horse's back and onto his neck where it bit deeply and harshly. Her horse gave another loud plea before falling to the ground. The cougar then raised it's head and started rushing right at Roxie, it's eyes flashing mercilessly.
Roxie looked around for her gun but it was laying a few feet from her just out of her reach. As the big cat leapt at her she crawled out of the way in time and towards her gun hoping it wouldn't catch her. "Help me dammit!" She yelled at Ben, grabbing her gun and trying to pull herself up to which she failed. The cougar turned it's head to face towards her again and it gave a loud hiss, ready to attack once more. She raised her gun and took aim. She fired, but the bullet missed and the cougar gave any angry roar. "Shit!" She screamed, backing up even more. "Ben, stop sitting there and short the thing!" She shrieked and it crouched down to attack her again.
