Jack Hickory | M | 16 1/2 | Lightning l M: Henri Jack turned around, overjoyed to see another human being. He noticed the look of confusion on the other boy’s face. “I-” He tried to rub off some blood on his sweatshirt only to see it made the situation worse. At least it was black so the blood was hard to see. “The bird did it.” Bad explanation, but true at least. He threw a hateful look at Artemis before she tried to defend herself. The bird flapped its wings aggressively and cocked its head back and forth.”Ey-” Artemis propelled herself up into the air to establish her height before the argument. The next few minutes was full of some yelling, annoyance, squawking, and shrieks. Here’s the basic idea of what’s happening. “Well you’re the one who broke their cage.” Artemis replied with her snarky comments “I got stuck in a tree. Humans can’t fly.” Once again the bird tried to get all up in Jack’s face about that. “Well, I’m so sincerely sorry, Miss Big-Ego. You wouldn’t be in the cage in the first place if you wouldn’t always fly off like that.” Artemis made a strange gargling noise after that. “No. No! Artemis- stop-this isn’t another game- no!” She huffed and flew off to look for food again. “Fine!” Jack yelled off in the direction of the bird. “You’ll be back again later.” He turned back to the human left waiting there. “I’d like to apoligize in advance for anything this stupid bird does.” He could feel mental daggers being glared at the back of his head. “I mean the absolute most wonderful bird in the world who definitely does not leave a “gift” for me on the windowsill every night.” The strange feeling that some bird was going to come peck his eyes out ended. Good thing Artemis doesn’t understand senseless sarcasm.

Henri Laurent | Male | 17 | Fire | M: Jack Henri grinned in amusement, rubbing the space between Bach's ears, suddently grateful for his loyalty. "Oh. Well, I'm glad to hear that it was only your bird and not some sort of axe murderer, or something." His voice was richly southern, distincly from Louisiana, and he felt a little embarresed in an offhand way. He'd always thought he sounded a bit dumb to other people. Shoulders aching, he shifted the bag onto the ground with a dull thump and ran a hand over the stubble cropping up on his chin. Suddenly, remembering his manners, he stuck one tattooed hand out to shake. The freshest one, a semi-lopsided star on the first knuckle of his thumb, was still red with the irritation of poking it into his skin. "My name is Henri, by the way. I'm... a little late." He laughed jovially, "I don't suppose you have any idea where we're supposed to go?"

Abner | male | 89 | Nature/Wind "hello boys! You are staying in that cabin over there, Asher will tell you all you need to know there" He smiled and walked away. After his discussion with Asher and his traingin session with the children ha sort of drained him. He had never expiriance led a bunch liek thsi before. They all seemed… special somehow. As if they could do something that none else could… Abner had had this feeling ever since he helped his granddaughter off of the gate. They way she had gotten there… she was traveling through dimensions! That was incredible at her age, that could explain why she missed those important events. The renunian, christamns, all of those things. He had to find Osa!

Ósamræmi | Female | 17 | Shadow/Wind | M: Alice, Abner, Henri, Jack Osa yawned, her stomach growling. The training was... well Osa didn't have a word for it. She'd gotten there on time in her book (5:30 am) and at any opportunity to sit down, she took it and was immediately asleep. She couldn't tell you what it was about if you threatened to murder all her loved ones. The night before had been curious. She'd spoken with her grandfather and apologized for how distant she'd been with him and the various missed holidays over time and then attempted to look for the other cabin members with Alice to no avail. They went to bed late, hungry, and at least Osa was somewhat annoyed. Her aches were acting up again; soreness was always worse in the mornings for some reason. She pulled a bottle of salve from her coat and rubbed the cool substance onto her neck as she walked. She was running out of the stuff but still had enough for one more adventure it looked, whenever that turned out to be. Placing the salve back into her coat, her aches soothed as she got to the entrance of the school. Her grandfather was parting ways with a couple of late arrivals. She followed the boys discretely towards the cabins (she would have used her shadow abilities to avoid detection if she could). Osa wouldn't say she was especially interested in them in particular, but instead that rather she felt she should head to her own cabin and cook up something to eat. Of course, this was just part of the story. How could she not be curious about a boy covered in blood? She hoped at some point to talk to them just to get at the story of this student's crimson appearance. Otherwise, she was happy to go noticed or unnoticed by them. She was hungry. Jack Hickory | M | 16 1/2 | Lightning l M: Henri, Abner, Asher(sorta) “I always envy how other people can get their pets to not do whatever that lovely display of disorder was. Artemis sees the world as having a pet human and she rules the world at the same time.” Jack’s made a ‘so that’s just great’ face. At this point his attention was directed towards admiring the accent. He was just from central Illinois and probably the worst at adapting to the way people spoke around him. When he was younger, he tried to learn Danish to be special, but only got as far as the insults. Unless you want “evil flint-hearted leach” thrown at you it’s best to stay quiet about some little details. When the other human stuck out their hand Jack attempted to shake it, remembering he still had a few drops of blood on his hand. “I-” His face looked skeptical. “You sure you want to shake my hand?” he would joke around about that before saying, “I’m Jack, and I have absolutely no clue where I’m supposed to go.” He said this like a five-year old would say ‘I got a cookie!’ An older guy, probably the one in charge, walked up saying which cabin they’d be in. “So we just talk to this Asher person about everything else then? ...Kay.”

Henri Laurent | Male | 17 | Fire | M: Jack, Abner, Asher (ind.) Grinning, Henri let his hand fall back to his side. "Nice to meet you Jack. I'm not to averse to blood, but maybe we ought to save that handshake for after we find you a shower, yeah?" He gestured vaugley to the cabin that the older man had indicated, presumably with this Asher character inside it. Somewhat relieved to find such an amiable schoolmate so early on, Henri was reinvigorated. "You know, where I'm from, birds pretty much control luck? The way I see it, she probably keeps you alive." His tone was light, despite the content. "She's an eagle, right? Nèglon, in creole." With this, Henri started off at a slow walk towards the cabin.

Jack Hickory | M | 16 1/2 | Lightning l M: Henri, Asher "If there's a frog in the showers when I get there..." Jack began, thinking aloud, "I'm jumping in the nearest lake." They were already heading to the cabins when almost tempted to find a lake and jump in it anyways. Why be indoors when you can get a rush of excitement by getting bitten by fish. "Wait, birds controlling luck? I don't see how I haven't died yet then. Maybe Artemis figures she owes me a favor then for being the best human in the world." His mind started bringing up memories of all the times he's almost died, some from incredibly stupid ideas; actually, most of them are dumb. Like how he electrocuted himself on a dare once. He probably would've died if not for the whole 'guess what, I control lightning' thing. Something necessary at this point would be writing a fake will just to get it over with already. The bird was there for probably all except two of these almost deaths as well. She probably thought of Jack as some sort of toy or some sort of roman shield at times. "A sea eagle. I researched it once, and she's actually supposed to be from Australia or something. I don't know what she's doing all the way over here, but I feel bad that she's unable to play with other birds from her species. And there's also the-" He made a strange gagging noise, "mating thing too. I think Artemis would just scare everyone off anyways." That was always a-uh- strange subject to touch on for this kid. He continued towards the cabin, but with putting a bounce in his step this time. The first day at a camp would always be exciting and he wanted to speed through everything to get to an adventure already. Jack ran the last few steps to the cabin and swung the door open. “I...” He swerved around halfway through the door and sprinted back to the main building, realizing he forgot his bags. After picking them up again he struggled to run back with a duffle bag ramming into his side the whole time. “Here-here.” Not being big on sprints, he tried to catch his breath while preparing to yell for wherever Asher was. By now he wanted the humans to find him instead of having to wander around aimlessly. “Hellooo,” Jack would always draw out the end part as his little ‘thing’. “Any humans in here? Or- if you’re an alien that’s fine too, I guess.”
