{ My Post} Silas found himself thinking he was in a new world or something. Ash and dust had filled the air, making everything barely visible which was worry some since he couldn't see to well to navigate at his best. He found himself having to leap over multiple broken pieces of metal and plastic and sometimes running into holes in the ground. He actually ended up stumbling over a black thing from a car he thought. He found his mind shifting over to the thoughts if anything was left alive or if he was all alone in this place. A shadow of two collided cars spooked Silas, he fell backwards and scrambled away as fast as he could. He ran right through a door less department or store, he stopped abruptly when the smell of food whisked across his black nose. He moved slowly through the store searching for where the smell was coming from, when he thought he had found the source of the smell he was disappointed to find a disgusting rat munching on a bunch of old smelly pizza chunks. He turned away not wanting to be in the presence of the rat encase it got feisty, so he decided to travel down some other aisles he found curious looking things that he had never seen before. One thing in particular caught his eye a lime colored neck piece thing, he sniffed it letting the smells absorb in his nose. He couldn't smell anything particular on it except for the fact that it had a new smell to it that brand new things usually had he learned from little experience. He picked the odd thing up in his jaw, he raised his paw up and attempted at using it so it would hopefully slip onto his neck, once it has slipped on he released his paw to the ground once again. He didn't know why but the attire appealed to him, so he decided he would give it a chance. He soon made his way to the exit dehydration grabbing at his stomach, he decided to lick up some water from a small puddle since that was all that he could find. The water tasted foul from the dust and ash, he wanted to spit it out but he needed it. He wasn't quite sure when he would find food again, but he would hope it was soon for he had no intentions of being deceased even if his world had crumbled to pieces just like the dusty view he was staring at, outside the area had become more clearer to him as the sun rose higher. He sighed and sat down for a moment staring at what would now be his life, if he atleast lived long enough for one of those. |

Lumi walked through the rubble, favoring her front left paw, limping in a way that made you wince, knowing it was hurting her much more then she showed. "Come on Milo, we need to find food." the female called. She kept going, knowing the pup would catch up. Sure enough, a little ball of fluff came hurtling towards her. She slowed down momentarily so the pup could catch up. "Where are we going? Im hungry. Why are you limping? Can I limp too? Why is it so stinky?" the cream dog pelted her with questions, to which the female sighed patiently. "We're trying to find food. Im limping because I got hurt. Dont try to limp, its not fun. I have no idea why it smells this bad, but it does, so we deal with it." Lumi continued walking forwards, a fixed expression on her face. Her ears twitched, hearing Milo roll around. "Whyre you so cranky? Is it because youre hurting? Oh hehe youre upside down!" Lumi smiled despite herself. Milo was never in a bad mood, and she could hardly stay mad with him. She nosed him up, and said, "Lets go, I think the store is close by. Im to weak to try and hunt right now." She pushed the pup in front of her and continued walking. Sure enough, about a block later she found the store. She stopped Milo from dashing in with a sharp glance. Sniffing around, her hackles raised as she sented another dog. Normally she would be less hostile, but after the disaster, it was every dog for themselves. Taking a few prudent steps closer, and trying to walk normally. She continued sniffing and saw the dog eventually leave. She waited for a few more minutes before entering the store, motioning Milo forwards with her tail. He dashed in, and trotted next to her. "Get some meat, maybe some vegetables." She found a puddle and gave a small lap at it, grimacing at its taste. Ive been through worse then this. She thought, and swallowed it, going back to help Milo. (Sorry, Im trying my best with 3rd person. I hope it came out okay.) |

Mentions: Akela, open Silas had found himself sitting there longer than anticipated, his hues where faced towards his paws he was making a small claw shaped hole. He lifted his haunches walking a little ways, he wasn't quite sure where he should go next. He flattened his ears sadly, he had never had owners or been around people much but he still enjoyed seeing life around instead of what he was looking at now. He looked back down at his paws boredly, and began to to take a stroll down the streets to anywhere or to anything. He passed loads off deformed buildings, more collided cars, metal and glass covering the roads. His ears perked as he heard a snarl from a flipped over car, he stood frozen in fear. He shook his head, and tried his best to spring past the car when he relized there was a dog in there that he thought to be very aggressive. He coughed as he ran right into a very dust cloud, he blinked his eyes tons of times to keep the dust out. His odd bandana thing moving to the beat of him walking, he scrapped his pads on the gravel cutting them open. He sat down for a second to lick away the red residue that was coming from the inside of his pad. He began to limp as one of his pads had a lot more cuts than the others, a rouge tier was covered by ash making it impossible to see. He limped right up to the tire and tumbled right over it, he whimpered as the small sharp rocks pocked into his back and side. He whimpered loudy in pain, he didn't mean to be so loud to pull attention to himself by predators but he couldn't help it. He stayed lying still on the ground, he didn't know wether he could could get up or not but oddly he enjoyed the veiw of the sky as the dust and ash started to clear more. ( Cyp can't post anymore so I had to change it ) |

Akela made his way along the side of the road, his long tail swishing side-to-side as he walked. His ears twitched to and fro as he looked around for at least something of interest. His nose twitched. `Another dog?` Akela thought to himself, halting in his tracks. Squinting his eyes, He managed to make out a figure. It was not human, no, it was another dog, sure enough, but he had no interest in the other, moving along in silence.
He didn't feel scared when it happened. Not at all. Akela glanced around for a minute before coming across a flipped car. He crawled into the shattered window, wincing as the broken glass sliced his mitts. Akela let out a silent huff and laid down in the blankets that had fallen from out of the upside-down seats. His tongue lapped across the cut that brought pain to his paw, a coppery taste filling his senses. He sighed and put his head down, his eyes drooping. He thought of all the things that had happened only a few hours ago, a shiver running through his body. His lips curled back in a snarl, his hackles raising as he sat up. His head having no more room, he slumped over, his ears pinned against his furry cranium. |

Sasha explored the towns after the eruption happened. Nothing looked the same, she in a way was happy the humans were gone. She thought it seems s so different, so eerily quiet. She was used to living on the streets, with no one to care for her. She sniffed around though any scents she used to know were no longer there. She shook her pelt before exploring for any food left. She found the grocery store or what remained of the building. She carefully made her way in and avoided any glass shards on the ground. She found some food left and she ate anything edible. She found this place safe for now, so she stuck around and made herself at home in the building. She sighed gently and she thought if anything had survived besides herself. She knew new life would spring from this tragic accident. |

Kocoa turned her head, looking left and right before scuttling into the alleyway. She had been searching for food since the humans had left, and she wasn't used to waking up without her humans kind hands gently brushing her head, and it was unnerving. As Kocoa was lost in thought, she saw a little lump out of the corner of her vision. Kocoa quickly turned and stared hard into the darkness, her fur bristling. Kocoa discovered she'd seen a carcass of a mouse. She growled in disgust and slowly picked it up with her mouth. She squeezed her eyes shut harder and gulped the mouse down. It tasted horrible. Even feathery birds tasted better. Kocoa looked farther down the dark alley, then back to the open, deserted street. She reluctantly padded towards the open street, hoping to find something, anything, she just wanted to see some living life, other than rats and nearly dead birds. Kocoa raised her nose in the air, and the smell of ash filled her nose. As she sneezed and pawed her muzzle, she trudged along the street, finding a deserted shed with some moth-eaten chushions and blankets. As Kocoa started to settle down, she heard something. Her ears twitching she tried to stay as quiet as possible, It sounded like another dog. Kocoa took a deep breath and stepped into the open, gasping in surprise when she saw the other dog. Shimmering turquoise eyes were staring at her intently, and when the huge dog stepped towards her, Kocoa cowered and whined. "Um, do you, I mean, what, should, should I just go now? Ok I'm going now" Kocoa turned to leave when she heard a gentle voice from behind her "Wait! I don't mean any harm! I just thought I heard something and came to investigate." Kocoa stopped in her tracks and looked back at the female dog. "Who are you?" The strange dog asked, keeping her eyes fixed on Kocoa. "I-I'm Kocoa." The dog smiled pleasantly, almost shyly, and said "Laika. I'm Laika." "Nice to meet you, Laika" |

Lumi walked back over to Milo, her ears on high alert. With each step she took, the pain faded, turning into a dull pain, there but manageble. She found Milo jumping up and down, trying hopelessly to reach a bag of carrots on the produce island. The female chuckled slightly and nosed, him, the small dog jumping slightly, and then relaxing, realizing it was his friend. "Hi...Lumi" he said, panting from trying so hard to reach the food. "I...Im trying to...reach the caa....rrots, but they...re to h..igh" he finished. The female smiled, and said, "Okay, lets try to reach them like we got the food from the counter at our home." A pang shot through her as she realized that home was no longer home. I suppose we'll have to find a new one. The female mused. Drawn back to the present, she laid down on the floor, cringing as her coat touched the dirty tiles, no longer white but a grimy grayish color. She stayed still as the cream colored dog scampered on top of her, and she raised herself, so that Milo was able to get the carrots. She lowered again so he could get off, and then wagged her fluffy tail happily, glad that they would have some food. "Stay here, Ill be right back" the female said with a soft woof. She tried to hurry, making it to the meat aisle, and stood, stumped, staring at the meat in the case, but unable to reach it. She huffed and went back to Milo, ripping open the plastic bag of carrots. "Eat up, then we'll find shelter" her voice was muffled as she cronched on the carrots. |
